I bring my car here for pre-​purchase inspection. They have helped me identified issues and potential issues for a used BMW that I am about to purchase and I was able to address fixes under BMW warranty at the dealer. Excellent service.

Stupendous experience from beginning to end. These guys (Derek and Geoff) go out of their way to provide excellent service at good prices. After being hit with one too many maxed-​out service estimates from my local BMW dealership, I decided to give CMW a shot, since I’d heard good things about them. They were on the level with me, broke out every individual issue (incl. severity) and potential cost (over 30% cheaper than the dealership), and actively communicated with me about all my options and timing. They even offered to shuttle me to/​from work as needed, since my car would be with them a full day, and when everything was done, the quality of the work was top-​notch. I highly recommend giving CMW a try. This experience put my worries about dealing with unknown mechanics to rest, and I’ll be bringing my car here from now on.

I went in for a burned out headlight on my BMW 328i. I was pleased with CMW’s friendly employees, clean office, and speedy service. I was out the door in ten minutes. Highly recommend Coast.

Good experience overall. Good communication, friendly service and top notch work. Can’t ask for a whole lot more. Had an oil service, alignment, and bulb replaced. Derek did everything he promised and in a timely fashion.

Geoff will go up and beyond to get a job done. Whether it’s ordering parts for a classic BMW or setting up a BMW shuttle service for you. There’s really nothing he can’t help you with. Todd the mechanic is a miracle worker, he makes it all happen. If anyone is going under my hood, it’s Todd. The staff is knowledgeable and so friendly. I trust CMW with all my BMW needs. CMW keeps me on the road and gives me great peace of mind. I rely solely on CMW and will never go else where. Don’t take my word for it, give them a shot. You will not regret.

Quick, courteous, honest service with a complimentary ride to wherever you need to be. The parts/​labor fee are generally on the more expensive side even compared with other BMW specialists I’ve been to, but at least you can trust your car is in good hands.

If you own a BMW and live in Orange County, this shop is a must for everything maintenance related. Jeff and the rest of the staff here are top notch. They tell you like it is, won’t over charge you or make you fix something unless you absolutely have to. I’m pretty easy going but I definitely appreciate customer service and quality work. If you’re the same as me, do your bimmer a favor and see these guys.

Derek and these guys were able to solve an electrical issue with my 750li which other shops couldn’t figure out. Very clean and professional shop. Def would come back. Thanks guys.

Honest people. I ended up not using them, but the quote they gave me was pretty competitive for the car I was using. friendly service.

George helped us with the maintenance of X3 on April 8, 2015. He was professional and courteous. Jake provided a courtesy transport to my work. He was also very polite and professional.
Throughout the day, George provided updates on the work, and technical explanation of why a task needs to be done.
The lobby was clean and had plenty of comfortable seats if one needed to wait for their vehicle. The vehicles work was completed as promised.

Lucy their cheerful dog greeted me. Easy to talk to Derek and Jeff on the phone. Appt and work all done as promised. Convenient to Newport Beach. Thank you.

My husband had an issue with his car so we brought it in today. A gentleman named Mark informed us of the problem and that he could fix it but saw it was a recall issue with BMW online so recommended instead to call them as they should cover it, which they did. Wanted to share how honest this guy was and we will definitely come here first in the future. Nice to see such integrity! Thank you!

Tires are Tires, right? Not when when you have them installed at CMW. Simply call them, they will order the ones that are right for your BMW and have them waiting ready for when you show up a couple of Days later. When you leave, your Wheels won’t be scratched, they will be perfectly balanced, the TPMS will be re-​set and off you go with a new set of Tires and a hugely improved ride.
Plus you get an out-​the-​Door price and the usual stellar service, oh and by the way, they just make it LOOK easy.
What can I say? It doesn’t get any better than this.

Go at your own risk. There are plenty of other shops around that will do the job for a better bargain. I came here because I was referred by a friend only to find out he had been paying their high prices.
One might argue that their service is top notch which I don’t doubt. But should that compensate for how much they charge?
I got quoted ~$ 1300 for replacing 4 brake pads. Friend got quoted $ 1100. Had mine done at another local shop for $ 900 including rotors (that I had purchased myself).
I also needed a new battery since mine had died, originally quoted me $ 800. Are you kidding me? I told the guy up front (mark i think?) to recheck it and he said he accidently quoted me twice. Okay, honest mistake. But $ 400 for a battery? I might as well take it to the Crevier and get a loaner car while I’m at it. In the end, I got mine replaced for $ 230 at a different local shop.
Needless to say, both my friend and I don’t come here anymore. I guess that’s why no one from
knows this place.

Ron, the owner of Coast Motor Werks, gave me a call immediately after my original review above. It goes without saying that any business owner who takes Unilocal reviews to heart deserves another look which is why I’m updating my previous post.
Bottom Line is that they’ll use only the parts that are closest to OEM which might cost more in the end. But will be cheaper than paying that at the dealers. I’m the type of person that will do my own maintenance, find parts considerably cheaper, and pay for the labor if necessary. That’s the reason why I clash with this shop. They’re good people don’t get me wrong.

The only reason I did not give a 5 star rating was because my entire experience was over the phone. I was unable to drop my Mini off during business hours so I left it after hours. I did speak to Derek prior to leaving my car letting him know what service was needed and several other issues. He was very helpful and told me that they would check it out the next day and call with an estimate. That is exactly what happened and the price was very reasonable. When I picked up the car the next day it ran like a top! Great job!!!

Stand up guys here. Another expensive repair, complications ensued, they handled things fairly and professionally. The upstairs conference room came in handy too.

I brought in my 2006 BMW after I hit the 100k mile mark. I knew my oil was leaking and wanted them to let me know what type of maintenance I’d need to keep my baby running. Derek was at the front desk and he was very professional and kind. He let me know after a BMW reaches 100k its spark plugs need to be changed out. He answered all my stupid questions and provided an explanation in layman’s terms as to why I needed to replace them. I got a ride back home and they offered to pick me up when the car was finished.
While I was out to lunch, Derek called and let me know that the spark plug coils had broke and to replace them it’d cost and extra $ 400 on top of the price we originally discussed. I was in total sticker shock but Derek offered a cheaper solution. In the end, they replaced my coils free of charge and I’m really pleased with their customer service. I agree with most other reviews that they offer a fair and honest price. I will definitely come back again.
TLDR; getting your car serviced always sucks but at least CMW do their best to make it as painless as possible. Will come back again.

Sterling BMW called me one day from their service department to offer me a free car wash and to look over everything to check if everything was running okay. Since my warranty had been up since December, I thought it would be a good idea to take it in. So basically they washed my car and gave me the diagnosis which was that my oil needed to be changed, the radiator had antifreeze leaking out of it, and oil was leaking from the oil pan. They gave me an estimate of $ 3,250. I told them to just do the oil change since I really needed it and I was a little skeptical on the overall diagnosis.
One day I felt my car seemed to be running sluggish and I happen to be right by CMW, so I pulled in. As soon as I went in I got a pleasant warm greeting from Frank, the dog, who is such a cutie!!! So I immediately felt welcomed there. :) I talked to Mark and told him what the dealer had told me. He offered to take a full look at my car. He let me know that they didn’t see any leaks, but there was a drop of dried up antifreeze by the radiator, but nothing to be alarmed about since it wasn’t leaking. They also didn’t see any oil leaking from the oil pan. The only thing that they saw was that the timing belt would eventually need to be changed soon.
I am so grateful for them! The only downside is that they are closed on weekends. Other than that, the staff are all a very knowledgeable, professional, very good and honest people. Also very reasonable! I could have been paying all that money to the dealer for nothing! I will definitely be making an appointment with them to get my timing belt changed in the near future. If you own a Mini or BMW this should HANDS DOWN be your new local shop! I dropped my Mini off around 10am on a Wednesday morning and they had my car ready for pick up at 2pm that same day. Phil was nice enough to drop me off at my office building and was promptly waiting for me upon pick up :)
Derek was fair and honest, no run around like they give you at the dealership!
The icing on the cake were Lucy and Maggie, the shops mascots if you will; an adorable golden retriever and just as adorable black lab! I can honestly say these two made my day!
I will be coming back to Coast Werks in Irvine and highly recommend for anyone in and around the Irvine area (with a Mini or BMW of course ;)

This place is great; I’m never going to the dealership again. First quality work, honest, fair pricing, quick turn around, friendly, and clean (be sure to check out the bathroom).
So my car had a few issues, but I put-​off fixing it due to bad experiences with dealership in the past. A friend recommend that I try CMW. First impression, wow, the entrance area is clean and Mark at the desk was attentive and knowledgeable. He gave me a detailed estimate and helped me understand what needed to be fixed without making me feel dumb like some other places do. Mark’s communication made the whole experience worthwhile. I had a friend pick me up, but, apparently, CMW can get you a discount on a rental car service, which I’ll use in the future.
A few hours later, I received a call that my car was finished. As far as I can tell, everything was to spec and the mechanics were careful to get it done without leaving greasy fingerprints on the leather. They even remembered to move the seat forward after backing it out of the garage, so I can reach the clutch.
I’ll be back and have already referred a friend to get her BMW fixed here too.
