Game Stop

Came here a few months ago to pick up an item we placed on hold over the phone. There was an issue with the hold (due to the manager), but thanks to the DM, everything worked out wonderfully. The store is very cramped and seemed to be understaffed, even with the seasonals walking around. Aside from the manager we had an issue with, everyone else was nice and tried to make the experience better (going above and beyond what is asked). The location is a bit far and I have a store closer to me, but if I am ever in the area, I don’t think I will be visiting it again.

While this location is much more spacious than other mall GameStops, I just don’t like it. They never seem to have that great of a used section (or they just never seem to have what I’m interested in) and the lines move so slowly. Maybe it’s because the employees here are very friendly and sociable but there has to be a time when you stop talking about the newest AAA title and let the next customer pay for their merchandise.

I was at the Irvine Spectrum to meet my friend and have lunch with him for his birthday. However he was late. I had a lot of time to wander around. My sister wanted me to get her a DS game. I went into game stop. I found the game, but it was pretty expensive. Especially for a old DS game. But nonetheless I brought it to the front to but it. However the cashier was a nice dude and before he rung me up he told me he will search for a used one first so I cam get a cheaper price. He found the same game used for me by manually digging through a ds junk bin. Instead of paying 20 dollars, I paid 99 cents.
It was a good day.

I have three teen boys, so I am always going to game stores. This particular one is farther from my home than others, but I go there because of the amazing staff. William was so patient and knowledgeable, he informed me that my power-​up card was coming up for renewal. He saw I had enough points to get it for free, while he was giving me an update on my pre-​orders, and letting me know what else is coming out, since it can be difficult having three boys with all different taste in games. He took time to help me get the coupon on my smart phone and complete the transaction, all while helping others in the store. The other young man in the store was also outstanding. I am shocked how knowledgeable they are both about the games, and upcoming titles, promotions and are able to treat everyone so good. They even helped a man find another store in the shopping center, who wanted to get more WWE apparel after buying WWE 2K14. I though that was a perfect example of how they where going out of their way to help me, and everyone in the store. William was so helpful on explaining games to my son, as well as recommend to me what would be the best way to pre order, or to get them. In an age of people who always rush you to buy stuff, or act like your interrupting them, even though its their job, it is great to know there are still stores with people who work there who work hard to make every customer feel special. I don’t fill out many surveys, but that is just how good of a job William and his co worker did, that it made me want to write to let their superiors know how great of a job they are doing. Also, great job to who ever does the hiring, because this store always has the best staff.

My fiancé and I were doing some Christmas shopping and decided to stop in and see if they had a PS4. They didn’t which was expected, but what wasn’t expected is the amazing quality service we received from Shane. He was friendly and very helpful. He answered our dumb questions without judgment (we’re not big gamers) and showed us different systems. Plus he told us about the deals we could get when we bought two games. We enjoyed our time in there so much we walked out with a DS and a game. Thanks again Shane!

I may not be an intense gamer, but I consider myself a typical one.
This is one of my favorite Game Stops to buy my games from.
I love browsing their pre-​owned section searching for gems old and new.
Their Skylanders stock is pretty impressive compared to other stores, so I always have to see who they get in when they restock.
I love the PowerUp Rewards card that they offer to you.
It really ends up saving me a lot of money when I MUST HAVE certain games.
The customer service here is pretty on point.
If you’re a regular, they actually remember you!
The employees really know their games and deals, so you end up leaving with what you’re looking for (for a great price).
The employees here seem to really enjoy their job, which is refreshing.
They also keep the store pretty neat considering some parents treat this place like a daycare center.

This store also throws some really big midnight release events.
You can tell that they really put some thought into what they’re going to do for each release.

My favorite Gamestop in Irvine. Staff is very friendly and helpful and they always have the game I want in stock.

So I am not a gamer, computer or otherwise. As I do not feel that I can competently review this store, I give them a 4 instead of 3 stars.
It does appear that the employees/​staff «know their stuff» and of course, are willing to talk about it, ad nauseum! But hubby is happy.
The prices seem high to me, but what do I know?! Also, they are located in Irvine Spectrum, so rent would be high… hey, they are just passing it on. :)

I have visited this location on several occasions over the years. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable.
We were walking around Spectrum Sunday with Chief and I decided to pop in really quick and look around. The person working was very engaging and answered all my questions. We discussed the new MMO, Star Wars The Old Republic and if he had played Skyrim. He shared my opinion about Star Wars and gave me some good feed back on Skyrim. I like hearing about games from people who have actually played them, as opposed to reading reviews by professional critics.
The only negatives are their pc games seem a little limited (they have an excellent selection of console games) and their pricing is a little on the high end (think about the location).

So I’ve had an Xbox I won for a few months now but I’ve not bothered to get any games or other software for it. Since I was meeting someone for dinner nearby I stopped in. Man video games are frickin’ expensive! Looks like your average costs around $ 60/​pop, so doesn’t feel like I’m getting any sales items here.
