From the time that I placed my order to the time I had received it I had already went grocery shopping, my dining companions received their food and also ate it. I had to embarrassingly eat by myself due to their inefficient cooking process. Had I been given expectations for the long wait it would have been fine, but there was no prior warning. Will not be coming back.

Look, this should be pretty easy. I want okonomiyaki, I pay for it, you give it to me. It’s that last part that GoSquared really struggles with. The food is good and hasn’t made me sick(yes, low bar). In the following 30 seconds where you normally wish the patron to have a good meal and call it a day, the person in the kitchen instead chastized me for not walking up to pick my food up fast enough, rolled his eyes at me, and THREW a to-go box at me when I asked for one. I only come here for the okonomiyaki, so hopefully next time I’m at Mitsuwa I’m craving curry instead.

The food was worth 2 stars. But getting sick afterwards from it makes it only 1 star.

Guy with glasses maybe the owner got mad when i got some chili oil that was for customers with my takoyaki. He said in a very bad mannered tone«unbelievable» do not eat here if you like free condiments with your order.

Visited on Sunday June 21 around 7pm. Let me count the ways this place sucks. DONOTDRINKTHEIRWATER!!! * Inconsiderate non-japanese staff. Acted like it was a chore to take our order after claiming they may be closed(more than one hour before they actually did and posted hours — seems they were hoping to leave early when management wasn’t around) * Gave us cups of water with hair and dirt in it. Container had obviously not been cleaned any time recently. Absolutely disgusting. I already drank one cup of water before noticing, thinking I had gotten one of my own hairs on my lips. * After alerting the staff(main amigo cashier with a hat) of the water issue, they were unmoved and seemed not to care how disgusting this was. They shrugged it off. After seeing it though, they immediately took the water container away from the front, presumably to clean it. I kindly asked the cashier amigo for a bottle if water, you know, because I wanted water and they gave me dirt and hair. They said I would have to purchase it. I said I will wait until they clean the filter I guess. The cashier amigo said he would bring me some new clean water when it was finished. After 45 minutes, he never came back with the water. * Rice was pretty overcooked. I don’t think crispy rice is at all Japanese style. I presume Amigo Cook is the one that messed the rice up. Cashier amigo should be fired or and least reprimanded severely by management for his poor customer service and lack of care for the business. If management cares at all, hopefully other customers will not have to experience Mr. Amigo Cashier with the hat. If he still works there, then obviously management doesn’t care about anything and probably this business should just cease to exist. STAYAWAY!!!

I’d give 0 stars if I could. Took 10 minutes to just be acknowledged. The owner is extremely rude and emotionless. The Takoyaki balls were soft, mushy, and undercooked after i specifically asked for it to be extra crispy. Don’t call yourself a Takoyaki place when you can even make it right.

Worst Takoyaki I’ve ever had. This is not Japanese own place, so they don’t know what does Takoyaki taste. I order takoyaki, and it came out not fully cook. It suppose to be crispy outside, and soft inside. Also, it does not even have ball shape. If you wanna try good Takoyaki, go find Japanese owned place.

Tried the ramen burger. The appearance was interesting. Bloggers have been raving how good it was so found this in local place. The noodle buns had no flavor & needed to be cooked longer to be crispy. There was no seasoning on hamburger patties. Also they are $ 8 kinda pricy. I can say I tried & I mostly wanted to see it for myself how to make it. I made better at home to be honest.

Rudeness gets you a 1 star every time. Thanks for nothing and your ramen burger sucks.

Good takoyaki… More batter than tako but we’ll take whatever we can in Irvine to get our takoyaki fix for about $ 6. CASHONLY and prepare to wait about 10 min.

So I tried this place 2 times because I thought I’d give it a second chance after the first time. The first time I got the takoyaki. The inside was way too creamy and undercooked. I went to complain about it to the workers and they just said it was suppose to be like that. Really? Perhaps there is a form of takoyaki I was unaware of that consists of undercooked dough. Every other time Ive had, it either somewhere else or even in Japan, I’ve never had it this creamy inside. The second time I ordered the okonomiyaki and It was pretty good but this was more of a customer service issue. I wanted it with the noodles on it(I believe it’s the Hiroshima style) and they gave me the regular one. This could have been my fault for not being clear enough as to which one I wanted. I asked about 1⁄3 way through if it was the one with noodles and they said they were just making the regular one. I told them I meant to order the one with noodles and if it was too late to put them on. Mind you they just started cooking it… and they said it was too late. Food here also takes forever. I work in the food industry and I know certain foods take longer to cook but there just didn’t seem to be any pep in the the cooks step. Will definitely be choosing one of the other places here next time. In short: Undercooked takoyaki. Poor customer service. Long wait.

Not coming here again. Staff was extremely friendly but the food took forever and in the end it majorly sucked. I got the ikayaki with soy sauce. Never seen so much batter and very bland at that. The squid was very chewy and tasteless. Also got the takoyaki which wasn’t much better. The tako was teeeny tiny and there was so much batter. I feel like it was undercooked as well. Won’t be coming back. This place isn’t work the wait nor the terrible food.

Sad… I was hoping for a firmer texture but the Takoyaki was soupy and bland. I Plus I waited a long time. I thought it was be faster. I still love Mitsuwa but this place isn’t for me.

I usually hit up Gosquared2 when going to Santouka Ramen and get some takoyaki in place of a Santouka combo. The takoyaki here is a pretty good especially for being in a fast food setting. They do come in a set of 8 so unless you are hungry, I would only get these guys if you are looking to share because takoyaki can definitely be filling. 4 stars for flavor.

The Takoyaki was really good. I never had any before and my friend got some so I tried one. The presentation was very cool, very colorful and served in a wooden boat. The taioki was good too, white bean paste inside.

I tried this place b/c I wanted to see what the new mitsuwa in Irvine was like. I love takoyaki and this place was good enough, but I know it wasn’t the best. I’ve had better in J-town. It was soft, like the previous reviewer said, but it wasn’t mushy either. Flavor was good and I could eat it more than one serving. le BF got okonomiyaki(pork.basically bacon: D) and it was surprisingly good! I’d come in here again for my takoyaki/okonomiyaki fix when I’m away from LA. :)
