Wednesday or Sunday, the staff is the most welcoming. Rare for the city. Great people, atmosphere & end product!!! They’re especially sweet with the kids.

This is the spot to get Authentic Custom built Neapolitan Pizzas. I am in love with their Pesto and Tomato sauce as well as the way they cook their pizzas. Like… their wood burning fire oven is imported straight from Italy… so y’all can fully experience pizza as if you are in Naples, Italy yourself! They use white oak wood to burn in 900 degrees and are able to cook their pizza in precisely 90 seconds. Prices are fair and comparable to Blaze and Pieology at only 8.99 for unlimited toppings(premium toppings are extra $ 2) Customer service is great and friendly. Pizza Dough is made in house and hand-tossed every morning. That’s why the pizza here actually has a CRUST! Unlike Blaze and Pieology… where it’s just completely flat… I recommend getting the Sorpessata instead of Pepperoni. It’s like a better spicy pepperoni!!! Also, Pesto Pizza tastes unique and yummy. Can’t go wrong with Tomato sauce either! By the way, the s’mores calzone is quite legit. 10⁄10 recommend if you’re into that summertime bonfire vibe without the sandy mess.

What makes Pizza 90 ‘authentic’ and apart from the rest? EVERYTHING! First the ingredients — Imported fresh Fior Di Latte mozzarella from Italy and all-natural San Marzano tomatoes and fresh basil from local farms just to name a few. The pizza doughs are made fresh each day and hand-stretched at time of order. Authentic Wood-Burning Oven — A 6000 lb. pizza oven, built in Napoli by a 3rd generation craftsman pizza builder with handmade bricks from Vesuvius volcanic sands can bake a high quality pizza in 90 seconds! Personalized your own — No matter how much ingredients you want to throw on your pizza, the price is the same. Are you the ‘I-Want-It-All’ kind of person like me? Why not? There are 3 different ‘basic’ pizza; red sauce, pesto or olive oil. I got one of each and pile on the different ingredients I wanted. They were delicious! I especially loved the Pesto Geno! More than just pizza — There are salads, sandwiches and desserts to please all your different palates. Wine, spirits and drinks — There are several draft beers, wines and bottle drinks to choose from. They can even make a margarita if you like. The organic non-alcoholic drinks are really good, too. Service — You are treated like friends and family! It’s casual but very attentive and friendly. They know their stuff and would make recommendations on what you like. Don’t come here looking for ‘pan pizza’. If you want real authentic Neapolitan pizza. you are at the right place!

Hands down my favourite pizza place. I love the crust so freshly kneaded and the toppings. I usually order a chicken pepperoni with red sauce and chicken sauce with pesto and red sauce. Great flavours and excellent customer service. Try it you won’t be disappointed

Wow so this was a BIG disappointment. Just go to Blaze. Took over 25 min. Not 90 seconds. Staff was very very kind but it seemed so unorganized. Needs better management. There were like 8 employees too. I still remember this and I went last Friday. I was thinking the pizza must be great but no! It smells and tastes like cardboard. Ugh.

I loved that they had so many topping choices. I don’t eat meat, so I was filling my pizza up with all the veggies. It was cool to see cauliflower. They also knead the dough in front of you. The staff was friendly. The restaurant was nice and clean. They had screens with the menu. Very modern feel. I brought it Togo because I was in rush. Not sure if that affected how it tasted but it was some what flavorless and soggy. I was starving so finished the whole thing anyway!

Went here for the first time the other day and my friend and I shared 2 pizzas. We got the Carnivora and the Pesto Genovese. There are a lot of these pizza places popping up and I heard this place was one of the best ones around because of their pizza oven that they literally shipped in from Italy. BTW the pizza oven was insanely nice… It created a really nice focal point for the restaurant. I was really excited to try this place out. It was surprisingly quiet for lunch time. I was shocked that we were the only ones in the whole restaurant at 12pm on a Thursday! We got our Carnivora pizza first and the pesto came out about 5 min later. It would of been nice to have them both come out at the same time. Good thing we were sharing our pizza’s. The pizza’s had really good flavor. I enjoyed the Carnivora more but they were both good. I wouldn’t say they were the best pizza’s that I’ve ever had, but they were good. The only thing that I didn’t like was the fact that the pizza was kinda soggy. I wished that they baked it a little longer and made the crust crispy. I think that would have changed my whole experience. Overall, decent pizza’s, fair price, good flavor just wished the pizza was more crispy and baked longer.

I feel like these type of pizza places are popping up everywhere! After trying out Blaze & Pieology I figured it was time to try out Pizza:90 this past weekend. The service was great. The person who was making my pizza was super friendly and he was very patient as I was staring at the different toppings, sauces, etc. Didn’t feel rush which was appreciated :) The pizza itself was just alright. The deciding factor for me was the crust. My pizza crust was kinda soggy. I do like a cripsy crust that can withstand the toppings but my pizza kinda just fell over. I didn’t even choose that many toppings! Besides the crust, you could tell the ingredients were super fresh. It did taste really good but it’s the crust that ruined it for me.

Well honestly I’m pretty disappointed about the pizza. The concept sounded very cool and the place is also very nice and the staff friendly, but the product is not good. Unfortunately. I mean when I picked up the pizza it was super soft, hung down in a 90 degrees angle and all the toppings felt off it. It just wasn’t done yet. I wanted it extra crispy and that’s what I got when I unpacked it about 5 minutes after the guy had put it in the to go box. Too bad, because I really wanted to like this place after all the review I read about it. Maybe I was just unlucky that night, but we had two pizzas and both looked like this. I uploaded the pics to the gallery.

Hands down my new favorite build-your-own pizza joint in Irvine. I love Blaze and Mod Pizza and think they’re both great, but I just love Pizza 90 the most. Reasons why: — Great service. The guy who helped me build my pizza today was incredibly nice and really took his time with me when I was indecisive about all the different veggie, meat, and cheese toppings. I never felt rushed and it actually was a very fun experience building my pizza, unlike other spots like Subway where they slap on your cucumbers and give you a blank stare while they wait for you to spout off the next topping. — They love their stuff. The guy helping me tossed the pizza dough in the air and I was definitely not expecting that from this kind of pizza establishment. He explained the differences between the cheeses and told me about their oven(which looks like a giant Anthropologie Christmas ornament by the way). Everyone there seems to really believe in the quality of the food they make and it’s so nice seeing that these days. — Fancy Italian meats and cheeses I can’t pronounce. They have soppressa, prosciutto, and other meats I typically see on a charcuterie board, along with the solid favorites like sausage and bacon. Get their smoked mozzarella — you. will. not. be. disappointed. — It’s fast. The last thing I want to do is wait more than 5 minutes for my beautiful masterpiece to come out and I couldn’t have been twiddling my thumbs for more than 2 – 3 minutes before they handed me my pizza while I was sitting. The cons: — It’s more expensive than Blaze or Mod, but that extra buck or two is definitely going to the higher quality toppings. And probably went toward that giant Anthropologie ornament oven. — I do like Blaze’s ultra-crispy crust, but that could just be a personal preference. I also jam-packed my pizza and drove home before eating it, so that could have attributed to the slight sogginess in the center of the pie.

Pizza Type: Thin Crust — Quick Bake Business Type: Small Regional Independent(2 locations) Beer/Wine: Craft beers on tap, as well as limited wine selection Overall opinion: I had the Margherita, and it was great. They only offer one size, but it’s perfect for one person. It’s also a great value too at $ 8.99. They have a Nutella Calzone for dessert which was every bit as good as it sounds! Bonus: Customer service is fantastic too. My order was wrong, and they offered to replace it without me even needing to ask. They threw in some free meatballs to boot, which were delicious.

AKA Pizza:90 !! So I checked on google where to find real quality Neapolitan pizza, and I found out it was 10minutes away. Pretty nice secret to uncover! Came here the first time and not only is the quality impressive but phone service is pleasant and the staff including top tier personnel like Carlos, they just want to make sure everything is on point! Love the pizza, tried traditional toppings and also the balsamic with pesto and prosciutto. Each pizza was the right choice! Loved both and expect leftovers will be tasty cold tomorrow! Seriously though, few pizza places try to attempt neapolitan pies, Pizza:90 knocks it outta the park! You need really high temperatures to achieve that technique. Soooo they imported a Italian brick oven through the Panama Canal! Wtf The pizza is thin, true to Naples pizza pies straight out of Italy! The coveted cheetah/leopard spots are«spot-on»! And may I say, hard to achieve! The crust is a crispy crust with a real bite to it while the inside crust crumb is warm and chewy. That combo itself is hard to get. But with the right 00 flour as an ingredient like they use here, it’s perfect! Best thing about it is that it’s local! Secret menu item is that you can bring a bottle of your own wine and they will not charge to cork it, you kidding me! Love it! Go already!

I’ve been getting Pizza 90 via DoorDash for awhile now and am pleasantly surprised. The pizza is really good! It is on the pricey side for the size but well worth it as the selection of good/edible pizza in the area is quite limited. I normally get the sausage and pepperoni as my toppings. The sausage is crumbled and perfect quality. Pepperoni is so tasty. Bonuses: They do have gluten free dough, although I am not a gluten free eater, this is great if you want to order with or go with friends who are gluten free! :) In our friend group we have multiple gluten free and also vegetarians, this is a perfect spot to go! Looking at the pictures, it looks like a cute spot, and I hope to visit in person sometime soon!

One of my most memorable times in my life was when I roamed around Italy taking in its beauty and of course, eating all they had to offer! As I bit into the pizzas at Pizza 90, it took me back to that nostalgic magical time and I felt like I was in Italy again. The below was what I tried and I loved them all! My favorite was the Pesto Geno because I LOVE pesto! The Caprese salad — Fior-Di-Latte Mozzarella, Heirloom Cherry Tomatoes, Fresh Basil Balsamic Glaze &EVOO Drizzle. Top in photo: The Queen — Crushed San Marzano Tomato Sauce, Fior-Di-Latte Mozzarella, Prosciutto Di Parma, Arugula & Shaved Parmigiano Reggiano. Right in photo: Pesto Geno — Basil Pesto Sauce, Fior-Di-Latte Mozzarella, Prosciutto Di Parma, Shaved Parmigiano Reggiano & Balsamic Glaze. Left in photo: La Rustica — Crushed San Marzano Tomato Sauce, Fior-Di-Latte Mozzarella, Bresaola, Brussel Sprouts, Kale & Ricotta Salata. Cookie Butter Mini Calzone — A dessert calzone made out of pizza dough, drizzled in honey and chocolate. This was awesome… loved the chewy texture of the dough! My friend who was with me could not stop raving about this. On another note, you could tell they put a lot of thought into this place from the little details. And they have an awesome looking oven covered in gold tiles handcrafted from Vesuvious volcanic sand in Napoli(yes, you heard me right). The employees were also all friendly and nice as well. I live in DTLA but I don’t mind driving over next time I need to satisfy my pizza craving!

First time here and I was pleasantly surprised. I’ve been to all the competitors; Blaze, Pieology, Mod, Pizza Rev, etc. and they are on the top of the list for taste and service. The only reason they don’t get 5 stars is that they are priced way higher than the others, but they may be trying to sell quality. The store is beautiful inside and very clean. I would say that this also creates the perception of higher quality. The workers were very friendly and helpful upon entrance. The pizza came out quickly and, more importantly, tasted great. My daughter even commented that she felt it tasted like a full restaurant pizza. I have to say that Jared was awesome from the moment we entered to when we left. He helped with our order. He came by a couple times to check on the food and if we needed anything else. He came by again to clean up and offer is a to go box. He did all this with a big smile and friendly chatter. We actually came back the following night because we had such a good experience. We’ll be back again when in the area and will also recommend the place to our friends.

Pricey Pizza! But delicious and good selection of beers for a great price. Irvine has really been popping with all of these«build your own pizza» places, and I can’t help but compare them to their competition(Pieology, Blaze. Etc). This place will fire up your pizza in 90 seconds, so you’ll never have to wait long. The downside? The price and what you get. On average, a pizza here will cost you around $ 9-$ 10 for 3ish toppings, and although it’s build your own, you’re pretty limited to how much they give you. I built my own and it came out to be around $ 11, and I was sightly disappointed because the crust was super doughy. Boyfriend thought it was decent though. Staff was great and friendly! My boyfriend and I loved messing with the staff as they kneaded dough from behind the glass. They looked like they are always having fun and in a good mood, great with customers.

Ok I don’t get why this place has so many bad reviews because I thoroughly enjoyed my experience here. It seems like a hit or miss depending on your tastes but I enjoy the fact that this pizza isn’t like your typical Blaze or Pieology pizza. It’s the most unique pizza I’ve had in quite some time which is refreshing because tbh most pizza places are easily comparable. I came in around 3 p.m. with a friend and there was no line. The service was so nice and explained the process to us, and it’s fun to watch people make the dough in the kitchen. As we were eating one of the workers brought utensils for us and refilled our waters even though the drinks are self service. He also took our plates when we were done and checked up on us. For the food, it was really nice to have an unordinary pizza. Yes it will be slimy and the toppings will slide off if you attempt to pick it up, but there is a sign on the tables that literally says best eaten with a fork and knife??? If you try to cut up sushi or tacos they would fall apart and be super messy but you don’t give the restaurant one star because you didn’t eat your food correctly. If you don’t like fish but you go to a sushi restaurant, don’t leave a bad review because of your personal preferences. There are so many signs and reviews stating that the pizza is supposed to be soggy, so don’t go and expect a crispy pizza because they have already told you that it won’t be. Props to Pizza 90 for serving us the wettest pizza we have ever had. Embrace the soggy. It was yummy.

Pizza 90, the latest restaurant to join 2015’s neapolitan pizza trend, celebrated its grand opening today by offering free 12 inch margherita pizzas to anyone who shared the store’s promotion video on Facebook. The event was originally advertised only on the restaurant’s Facebook page, but thanks to the OC Weekly Food Blog and word of mouth, the news spread quickly. At 5pm today, there were already 40,000 Facebook views of the video, indicating word had spread all over Orange County and beyond. When I arrived at 5:30pm, at least 100 customers were ahead of me in line. The manager promised our section of the line would be inside within 45 minutes. He also stated that the pizza is prepared to the same standards as what is served is Naples at this moment. I saw some people turn around when they heard about the wait for a $ 7 pizza, but since I haven’t had good wood-oven pizza since 800 Degrees Pizzeria in Westwood, I decided to stick around. After patiently waiting in line for an hour, I finally had an opportunity to observe how the neapolitan pizza is made. Each employee had a specific task in the assembly line. I was told that the special dough flour is imported from Italy. The dough is mold into a ball, and then passed onto two girls responsible for hand stretching the dough into a thin shape with rounded crust. The next employee in the assembly line used a ladle to pour tomato sauce uniformly on top of the dough in a concentric motion. Pizza 90 uses San Marzano tomatoes which are much sweeter than other varieties. Then, some fresh moist mozzarella was sprinkled on top, and several pieces of basil were spread throughout the pizza. Finally, the completed product is tossed into the gold-plated oven. Pizza 90’s oven operates precisely at 900 degrees, where the pizza is baked for exactly 90 seconds. The restaurant is named after the latter detail. I noticed that Pizza 90 operators are very careful in monitoring the oven temperature, they used an infrared thermometer to monitor the oven temperature regularly. Pizza 90 sweats the details and wants everyone to have fresh pizza for the best experience. That’s why they didn’t just pre-bake the neapolitan pizza and hand them out. I’ll have to admit, Pizza 90’s traditional margherita pizza was overall first-class. The toppings were extremely fresh and the pizza was the most moist and juicy one I’ve ever had. The tomato sauce was very rich and juicy, not bitter at all and it blends well into the cheese that’s not too heavy. The crust was soft, thin, puffy, perfectly charred. I would enjoy it more if it were slightly more crispy though. One aspect that I was not a fan of was how the tip of several slices sagged significantly before they reached my mouth. I’ve also seen that happen at 800 Degrees Pizzeria, so I guess that could be the limitation of a thin crust pizza with heavy toppings. I’m willing to give Pizza 90 another try on a less busier day to see if the pizza tip doesn’t sag too much, and also to try the toppings sourced from Italy such as the sausages, salami, and prosciutto.

Great service + ok pizza = 3 stars. Concept is the same as Mod down the street. Select the toppings on a thin crust. My hubby had to use a knife and fork because the toppings slid off the limp crust. He was not happy. He also commented on the pooling juices at the bottom of the plate. We don’t care for juicy pizzas. What I liked: Service was super friendly, upbeat and helpful THEBEER selection! Quick order to table time High top tables in a casual atmosphere I am willing to try again. Maybe I’ll ask them to make the crust more toasty next time.
