A hidden gem inside 99 Ranch Market, these friendly guys take and print passport photos for about 38% less than FedEx or Kinkos. They even provide retouching, which came in very handy since I rushed to trouble these lovely people right before their closing hour.
They even trimmed the copies to meet Japanese passport photo requirements at no extra charge!
I’m writing this review as I’m waiting for my photos, but my experience has been lovely. These guys go beyond to take care of their customers. If the photos look icky, then all fault lies with the poor subject.
UPDATE: My photos look so glamorously good that I’m slightly worried that customs agents would be able to identify me when I’m bleary-​eyed from watching hours of inflight films.

We got to know Frank and his team by our friends and we had a pre-​wedding photo shoot and video this summer. Felt so lucky that we choose this studio. Frank is very professional and knows well about how to capturing your best moments. They guided you how to make posture and eye contact. they are a very easy-​going team and make you relax and fell comfortable. they also listens to your own ideas and preference very carefully. After we got pics and videos, we knew we definitely make a right choice. They spend long time for pics post-​processing and retouching. they pay attention to every detail to make every moment perfect. their price is also very reasonable. highly recommend!

For the price ($ 10 as of this review), why would you ever go for «instant» passport photos elsewhere? At Shmily they spent great care composing the photo, retouching it, printing four passport-​sized photos, and then sending me the digital file. You are going to carry that photo with you abroad for at least ten years, why not get a professionally done photo with good composition and lighting? I think it is a good deal at 2−3X the price, but don’t tell them. I looked at some of their other work they have displayed on the wall, and I am going to consider them for a family shoot. Note: Shmily is inside the 99 Ranch Market (far right after you enter), so you can shop for some Asian food while they do their digital magic.

We had a DIY, low-​budget wedding in a local park this August. We saved money on a lot of items but we decided to invest in photography. After all, those are moments that deserve to be captured and kept forever. And Frank and his studio proved that it’s the widest decision we made in our wedding planning.
They are wonderful to work with from the very beginning. Everything went smoothly from getting contact with them to the day of the wedding and post processing of photos. They made the whole process stress-​free. We don’t need to worry about anything else. Frank and his assistants are very professional and talented. They paid attention to details. They provided good ideas about posing for wedding party photos and individual portraits. On the day of wedding, they did capture those moments full of love and happiness.
Their post processing service is even more excellent. We are extremely happy with the photos we got back. We don’t have a big fancy wedding but everything just looks fantastic on the photos. The price is also reasonable given the service they provided. Actually, they went above and beyond by making extra video and polished pictures for us.
We highly recommend Frank and his studio to anyone who is looking for professional wedding photographers. It’s definitely worth it!

Last year when I get married, Frank helped me catch one of our best moments in life. This time, we asked Frank to take pictures of our anniversary. Pictures are all beautiful and romantic. Can’t say how much I love them. Frank and his assistant (sorry I forgot your name) are very professional and patient. We talked before the session about the feeling (or the vibe) that I want to get from the pictures and honestly, he did a more fantastic job than I expected. I highly recommend Frank to anyone who wants to have gorgeous pictures. In fact, I would definitely hire Frank for my pregnancy photos and baby photos.

So glad I found this studio during a grocery shopping! My husband and I just took our (best ever) passport photos!
Even they are just ID photos with a cost of tiny $ 10 each, the photographer (sorry I forgot his name but not Frank) is super professional and nice: he took several shots, directed us how to smile, how to make a eye contact with the camera and made sure he captured the best moment; then he spent at least 20 minutes on each photo to adjust the color, lighting, details on the face and size; finally after an immediate print-​out, he even cut the edges very carefully and then sealed those ID photos in a cute envelope to us!
YES THEY EVEN GIVE PASSPORT PHOTOS THAT MUCH CAUTION AND CARE. Both of us got the best ID photos ever: trust me, they are 100 times more professional than any CVS/​Walgreens/​UPS ID photos.
Now my husband and I are thinking about their wedding photo sets. Based on our first yet best experience with this studio, we would be more than happy to work with this fantastic group again!
