This place is absolutely terrible. Prices are rediculous for the quality and quantity of food you get. Example, I got a 8 oz bowl of soup and a drink– It was $ 7.87. WHAT? I can get a full Whataburger double meat with cheese, fries and a coke made fresh for that. Not to mention, the food is far from safe to eat. They reuse food that is precooked. I have heard from several people how sick they have gotten from eating there. Food poisoning– Very Dangerous! I hope the owners of this building realize the danger their employees are being subjected to and get a new vendor. As long as this owner runs this place, I will be getting foodies to deliver my lunch.

Sorry but this place needs to be revamped! The prices are way to high and I only eat there if I have to. The working staff are nice never had a complaint about the servers or the cashiers, but the food is great. Very limited menu, sometimes the salad bar looks like it been out for a few days, just not what is needed. This 25 cent charge for anything under $ 3 is a little ridiculous. I have seen better cafeterias at companies. It’s time for an upgrade.

This is one of the nastiest food around. It’s located inside a company building and it’s not available for the general public. I don’t know why somebody would put this place on Unilocal.The place is called the Bistro not Boondoggles. The owners are cheap and will nickel and dime you for everything. They don’t change the oil often. You can always tell when they dont change their grease because it smells bad on the whole first floor. You can also tell by walking in there for one second and walking out smelling grease all day. The smells sticks with you. I hate coming in here and I have stopped coming in because I don’t want to smell like grease for the whole day. It makes me want to throw up. Their menu is ridiculous. They are trying way too hard to attract customers by exaggerating everything they offer. «freshly cracked eggs» «freshly made omelet» that doesnt sound convincing to me. Just say fresh eggs, we get it. Their dishes are all made up of left over ingredients. They try too hard to make it healthy by throwing in veggies in dishes that don’t need to have veggies. Stir fry chicken pasta is not even any culinary dish. It’s made up of thawed out frozen veggies, stir fried with chicken and they throw in alfredo sauce with pasta. Have you ever had chicken alfredo with carrots and broccoli? No, that is not how the dish is suppose to be. So gross! Cereal and milk is $ 4 because they don’t give you free milk for your cereal like some places. They charge a fifty cents fee if your amount is under $ 3 on the card but they don’t tell you that. The sign is also very small near the register. I have stopped coming in and rather go out for lunch. Portions are inconsistent. If you order meat with your biscuit and gravy, they usually give you two piece of sausages or bacon. But if you order turkey bacon, you only get one strip. I asked why I only got one strip and the owner told me because it cost more.

I too wish I could give zero stars, as this place ISINDEED a gigantic waste of time and money. The only, ONLY reason that this place is still in business, is because they have a captive customer base. The employees at 4000 Horizon Way in Irving, TX, will know this dive as «The Bistro» and are all too familiar with the mediocre food, terrible service, and exorbitant pricing. The only decent deal is the omelet on Fridays for less than $ 4, if you follow the rules and get the omelet with no toast or other sides. Here are a few examples of the types of food/service you can expect here: –The owner will nickel and dime you for any extras-even an extra slice of tomato on your sandwich or an extra packet of saltines with your soup. –The average sandwich price here is more than $ 6 with a small bag of chips, but no drink. –The average lunch special(again with no drink) is more than $ 7 with tax. –The staff is extremely frustrated with the management/ownership, resulting in often poor/angry service or nervous nellies unable to make snap judgments. –Complaints are met with a complete lack of interest or denial. Overall, this«bistro» is trying to do too much, which is likely why their food quality suffers and they have to price everything so high. Honestly, if they were to limit their menu and stop serving full meal daily specials(that are nothing to write home about), and focus on doing a few things really well, then they could probably make more money and charge less. Right now their daily lunch menu ranges all the way from soups and salads to daily roast chicken(terrible and flavorless), burgers, and sandwiches. The lunch menu also often features what are clearly frozen meals purchased and heated in bulk, like pot pie. Why would I pay $ 6 for a pot pie that costs less than $ 1 at the grocery store? And as far as their sandwiches… the burger bun is often sopping wet with oil/grease from the grill-which in turn melts the Styrofoam containers used there-yum, the chicken salad is often made from leftover dark meat from their daily chicken(from what I can tell), and don’t even try to order a half sandwich. It will be assembled so that the bread cannot possibly align and you’ll be left gripping cold lunch meat and lettuce. What a huge boondoggle…

I wish i could give zero stars. This place makes me so frustrated most times I go down there for food. I always say I won’t go back, but the convenience has lured me in for disappointment time and time again. The manager is awful — the price of food is never consistent and he acts like a stingy scrooge who thinks everyone is trying to steal a penny from him. The food is overpriced for the quality and serving size. The people who cook and serve the food are nice enough, but due to management they are sometimes so frazzled that service lacks. The most frustrating thing is feeling that there is no recourse to deal with the issues at this place. I know I can(and will) eat other places, but I hope you will read this review and opt not to eat there or, if you have to, that you too will write a review. The name boondoggles is fitting as the definition is: a project that is considered useless or a waste of both time and money, yet is often continued due to extraneous policy or political motivations.

‘Boondoggles’ is a nice little cafeteria style breakfast and lunch joint. One small problem, it is nestled inside a secured building where a normal person has to have badge access or is a guest of someone who works there. On the upside, as the building was being re-staffed, so was this little cafeteria. They stock it with the simple items for a small cafeteria and now they are starting to carry things for the gluten free, vegetarian, and some other special needs food related groups. I like that! They are very attentive, and polite. The place is clean. They also do catering, but you have to get them to email you their menu. Here is the address to ask for a menu: They have sandwiches, wraps, salads, hot lunches. I’ve tried their chicken and mexican dishes, not bad. I really like they are trying and are listening to the customer’s needs, it’s a big plus in my book. Keep up the great work!
