Hot Chillies @ CHEVRON

This place is inside a gas station right at the same strip mall where India Bazaar and Saravanaa Bhavan is located.
Looks like the menu is based upon the Kerala region. Many of the food names were novel to me and there is little explanation on the menu board. However, the girl who works there is friendly and helpful with any questions.
Apart from the regional items, they do have good selection of snack sized order of Idli, dosa etc and also a good selection of seafood. The food is cooked by Amma, so should be as authentic as it gets.
The mutton items are expensive for a gas station. Appam, seems like a very popular breakfast bread in Kerala. I tried the appam with chana and it was very good but little expensive at 7.99 for two appams and chana.

I saw their banner of Malabar Biriyani while filling up fuel. The malabar biriyani was very good. It tasted just the way it should — the chicken was cooked perfectly too. The green chillies made it very hot but was manageable with yogurt.
I also tried their parotta and chicken curry. The chicken curry was very hot but at the same time «thani shaapu style». The parotta was okay but tasted very fresh — so it was good.
Overall, a great tasting kerala food joint holed up in a gas station. I would definitely be back to try more of their dishes.
