Unfortunately all the packed items are poked to release the air out of packages, making it easier for infestation. They do it just to fit more packages on shelves & not care for the poor quality it turns into. Isles are very narrow & get crowded. Most of the staff can’t give any responses in English, have to get help. The checkout system is jacked up as well.

Lots of cool finds here! It’s worth a look see if you are looking to buy rice or spices in bulk, ghee and some other Indian products. Also produce, milk and different kinds of yogurt. Plus… chai tea HEAVEN! I got 75 bags of Cardamom Chai for 4 bucks. Hello, what a steal! They also have a huge selection of incense… and my favorite, Nag Champa. I would definitely come here for some select items but likely would not do any serious grocery shopping here. Get ready for the long lines especially if you are coming at night during the work week but the cashiers move quickly. Just bring your patience with you.

The heavy weight champion for South Asian ethnic groceries in Irving area. Pros: 1. Conveniently located. 2. Shared parking is good enough. 3. So many items under one roof. Sometimes you may not find such stores in India that give such variety of items in one place. 5 stars just for this. Cons take away some stars. 4. Has locally sourced as well as stuff imported right from India, Pakistan, Nepal and Bangladesh. 5. Good staff. Cons: 1. Although place is big enough, its gets crowded very fast. Coming here of weekend evenings is act of valor and patience. 2. Check out line wait is as good as Costco’s.(read long long lines especially on weekends) 3. Extremely stringent return/exchange policy. Just assume, nothing is returnable. They seem to follow the Indian shop motto —(All sales are final. Goods once sold will not be exchanged or returned back.) 4. Competitor coupons acceptance is a hit or miss(later being more probable) 5. Mobile app is dumb. It only stores membership number. It never loads any mobile coupons advertised in the store. 6. Shopping carts will be found lying in parking spaces. Blame it on laziness of shoppers. 7. They almost have no equivalent competitor in Irving area. So they rarely run promotions being run in their other stores in Richardson, South Irving etc. 8. Last but most important. Some of the items do not have clear manufacturing or expiration dates. So beware. Take it or leave it. Despite of all the cons, this store offers you the most variety you would want to get in ‘desi’ groceries. One stop shop.

This is my go-to place for Indian grocery. You can find most of the stuffs that you may need for Indian cooking. Place is a medium size compared to Taj or Patel Brothers, so the aisles are narrower and with kids running around you have to be patient and cautious. Produce are fresh most of the times and cheap; good selection of rice but still don’t seem to find my favorite Tilda yet. Their reward program is pretty decent with 4% return on amount spent but there is a catch; you have to spend 500 for that to kick-in…still a good option to get 20 dollars worth of food especially when you have a family and you are going to spend that amount anyway. They have good selection of frozen items which I usually don’t buy. i sometimes get packed food which is very handy on lazy days. The dry fruits like almonds, cashew, walnuts etc. are very expensive here for some reason; buy it in WalMart or Kroger. Some of the better and cheap items to buy here are Cauliflower, moog/bean sprouts, bitter-gourd, puffed and beaten rice, ginger/garlic, other produce items, rice and packet Indian snacks.

Reward card: check Crowded and annoying: Check Streamlined checkout process: check Wilted week old produce: check Wonderful variety of Indian cooking ingredients: check Verdict? Mixed feelings. I like to shop at my own pace and I prefer to have labeled aisles so I don’t feel like I’ve run a marathon in the aisles while tying to locate my groceries. But I also like savings and the variety a big store can afford. But on the whole, this is a good one stop shop for those looking to fix a desi meal from scratch.

Produce is great quality but kind of pricey at times. I really don’t mind shopping here esp since they have their own card system and a redbox like kiosk for Indian movie rentals. What I do mind is standing in a huge line for about 15 – 35 mins to checkout with my 5 – 10 items. I’ve only seen the express line open once when I have come here. It’s not the store’s fault though on the long ass lines. They always have 3 – 4 registers open. The problem is the consumers who have no respect for the employees or the fellow shoppers. More than once I have seen people fill up 2 shopping carts at a time during the busy hours so checking out takes forever and at the end, they wanna know if they can get multiple gifts with purchase since their totals were over $ 75. I’ve never seen such an absurd argument for a steel container as free gift. The other thing I’ve also witnessed is ladies coming in with a pretty filled cart and AFTER the girl is done ringing her up, the lady will walk outside to get her purse from the car. –_– really? the salesclerk and the rest of the customers standing in line will of course get upset. So, if you’re one of these people I described up above, pls understand you’re ruining the experience for the rest of us and stop behaving like children. And for those of you who are normal, considerate human beings who live and let live, be prepared to see some behaviors that deserve public spankings if the person was a 5yr old.

This is where I buy most of my produce and I’m not Indian. The main bargains I utilize are tomatoes, red bell-peppers, and watermelons. The tomatoes aren’t the best in the world, but they suffice for making home-made chili or marinara sauce.

Beware of expired products where the date has been scratched off or marked over! This place is incredible and typical low end desi retailing. We visited this place yesterday and while shopping my wife noticed that the expired packaged biscuits she was looking at just the week prior were on sale. When she picked up a package, she immediately noticed the expiration date was scratched off somehow. We then grabbed all 5 packages off the shelf and upset as we were for this type of pathetic retail practice, we took all of the product to the cashier upon checkout and pointed it out to her. She was courteous but definitely did not appear shocked. Instead she responded«there are lots of expired products throughout the store». From here she asked if I could take the products to customer service(the one man counter as you get in line for the registers). When I took it over to the girl that was at the counter she had the look on her face that she knew this was a normal practice for them. She didn’t apologize at all. But instead she walked away and grabbed a stocker to go search for the shelf location for remaining product albeit my wife and I removed the remaining items. By this time my wife and I finished paying for the other groceries and soon left. I would recommend that if you shop here be very careful when it comes to buying anything that does not have or is missing an expiration date. This is a very bad practice and I hope they stop this nonsense type practice; else if I see this next time I’m in the store I will certainly make sure everyone in the store at that time hears my frustration.

I was really excited when this place first opened up. Thing have since changed. Prices got jacked up and customer service went down. I actually picked up some naan that had stickers plastered over it stating BUY1GET1FREE. The cashier dared to stand there and peel off each sticker and tell me that sticker was from the manufacturer to the store. It no where stated that on the pkg. Also I am uncomfortable with all those Hari Krishna people lurking on the premises looking to pounce on you to buy their materials and dupe you.

As far as Indian specialty stores go, this place is very clean and neat by comparison. They have a mediocre rewards program, and a hefty selection of all things Indian(seems like the South Indian selection could use improvement). Some of their prices on produce are fantastic, especially Tindoora. I would here to stock up on Basmati rice and Tetley tea. Also, as somebody else said, they don’t take returns, so make sure you know what you’re buying. Ultimately places like this reduce their selection over time, and products begin to age on the shelf.

Thousands of things in a small space. It gets crowded in evenings, not enough space for cart to navigate, and most of the carts are of bad quality they dont work. Quality brand items go on sale rarely once in a while. Remember, They have a bad return policy, buy only things that you are 100% sure of. The quality of spices is mediocre — northern indian brands, but the lentils are ok. Its the kind of place where you like to get in/out as fast as possible.

We were driving through Irving yesterday and came across India Bazaar. We decided to go in and were amazed at all the amazing Indian groceries. While I did not know what everything was, there were quite a few things that I did recognize. There prices seemed good and it looked like you could find whatever you need for an Indian meal.
