Since this is right around the corner from my parents house, I’ve visited this place countless time. Recently, I revisited with my husband who hadn’t been before. As always, super-friendly service and delicious food. I thought about knocking a star off for the wait it took to get our food out but honestly, knowing that they prepare it fresh for you, its no big deal. I mean, fresh is a good thing, people. Mmm mmm mm. So good! Gyros 4 life.

This place is best. Definitely coming back. The service was great and my falafel sandwich was just right!

I was not impressed at ALL. The pita bread was rubbery and hard to chew the dolmas… well I have had better. The hummus. was good I have had worse. The falafels and gyro meal was also pretty good but the rice was dry and bland. Probably won’t order from here again.

The lamb shank is a must. It falls off the bone and you gotta dunk it in the garlic sauce homemade. Everything is fresh and healthy. For dessert you gotta try their baklava or kenafeh. Really it’s all goood!

Terrible food. Stick to Ramen if you really have no other choice. As soon as we walked in we realised uh oh. where did we come. But my lovely guy had coupons… now I know why. God awful food. It was lying out for really long. which should have been our cue to leave. Butno. we braved it and now I feel real queazy. And now even the guys have started getting queezy.

Tucked back from the main road, I happened upon this place by accident. It wasn’t very busy and I was greeted as soon as I walked in the door. I chose a table and ordered dolmas and a gyro sandwich plate. The gyro was alright, the tzatziki was kind of a flavorless white sauce. The dolmas were good, more lemony than I was used to, but I liked them.

Great little Middle Eastern place. Healthy. Close to airport hotels. Inexpensive. Definitely recommend.

First of all, I want to address the location. It looks old, it has benches that are askew and it is in generally pretty poor shape. I will say that alone would not make me dislike it, but understand it’s not a quality-looking place. The food was distinctly moderate. While I enjoyed my plate of beef and lamb schawarma, the pita bread was very hard to tear and chew. I also had some lentil soup and spicy potatoes that were distinctly average. For an additional mini-reviewer, my 5 year old son ordered a gyro and some fries. He took about bites of the gyro, then just ate his fries. I would just finish with the fact that it was pretty inexpensive. I will say that I did not expect more than I got for the price.

I noticed this place a few times when I’d be driving on visits to the old home town. Those of you who follow me know that I love me some Middle Eastern food, so that being the case I paid a visit to it for unch a couple of days ago. Their meny covers all of the basics when it comes to Mediterranean cuisine and also a few authentic surprises as well. I opted for the felafel wrap. I was to be cooking barbeque later that day so I decided to be virtuous and have a meatless lunch. Along with that I got a greek salad and a drink for $ 6.99! I also ordered a side of hummos which was mostly for my baby boy. Everything was delicious, and the other menu items that I saw there looked very good as well. I definitely know where t go for a good Mediterranean fix when I’m back visiting the fam in Irving!

Went here for dinner, was very good food. Had the gyro plate and it was delicious. The greek salad I had on the side was good also, however it was heavy on the dressing. The bread was great, I did not really prefer any of the other sides I was really into the mood for Fatouch, however it was not listed, but I figured why not ask, they said they would make it for me. That is great service right here. If i lived here I would go often, I will be making a visit again before I leave.

ooooh, no. had to take it on down to two stars(and it’d be one, but for the experience i’ve always had with the matronly worker): after a completely crap day at work, i dropped in for a simple and tasty gyro on a day when she wasn’t working. thinking my eyes were deceiving me, i first watched as the same single male worker who also handled the cash and wrote down the order proceeded to «make»(actually, «microwave») my food. .. WITHOUTWASHINGHISHANDS!!! i waited politely until he returned to the cash register, when i pointed out that he hadn’t washed. i work in a healthcare setting, sue me. here’s the fun part: without a single breath of self-consciousness, he responded, «no, i didn’t. sorry!» then he went on to ask if i needed anything to go with the gyro. with my twisted face, i stared at him, thinking he’d get the point; instead, he remarked shamelessly, «if you don’t want it, it’s ok.» no effort, no offer to remake it after he complied with Health Dept. standards. so, i took him up on his offer.

I have been here twice, both times I used a groupon. Apparently the ordering process has changed since past reviews, as I didn’t find it confusing at all. They do have a buffet bar pushed against the far wall, but there are no plates for you to grab, and the food is covered, etc. The hostess/waitress has immediately greeted us with menus and had us pick a seat, both times. One of the times I went was during lunch, and the other dinner. At lunch, when people ordered certain things, the workers did take some food from the buffet line. The food is very much what I would expect to find in someone’s kitchen. It is quite tasty, and fresh, and has that homemade feel. The service is fast and exceedingly friendly. The deserts are pretty killer too. I would agree that this is not strictly Greek food, although they have some dishes which are decidedly Greek. Will definitely be going back.

We liked! Didn’t love everything and I suspect at lunchtime it would be even better! The very friendly, but somewhat anxious Bangladeshi woman who served us was a joy. We ordered the Mazza plate. There was far too much of it for 2 of us. It was all good — although I have had better baba ganoush(I like the version I make!) and better pita as well A good mom and pop place — relaxed/relaxing. No hurry up and release the table attitude. Don’t think of it as being Greek(just as others have commented). I like giving my custome to local people trying hard to make a go of things. These folks definitely fall into that category, so we will keep going back.

So glad I drove past here on my way to my hotel. I love Mediterranean food, and this place did not disappoint. I had take out, but the restaurant looked like a nice enough place to sit down to a meal. The prices were very reasonable and the staff super friendly. They didn’t have what I wanted off of the menu, but they made me up a plate that was very tasty. If I’m staying near the airport again I’m totally returning!

I have been at Jericho a few times. The first time I went there is because I had a certificate and I wanted to try it. When we walked in the owner was super friendly and was explaining everything in the menu for us. The place was fairly new and there was only 1 vegetarian dish in the menu. When we told him that we were vegetarians and that we had a gift certificate he went out of his way to cater to us and he offered to make us a «vegetarian feast» which wasn’t on the menu. He pretty much put a 3 course meal together and we stuffed our faces, we had hummus, falafel, eggplant, OMG, I can’t even remember there was a lot of food . He was not at all bother by the fact that we had that certificate and we were only going to pay $ 10 out of pocket, a lot of businesses have acted kind of bitchy about it before, but they were as friendly as they could be. The second time we went we noticed that they added many more vegetarian choices, we were very happy about that =D I would definitely recommend the place, it’s nothing fancy or amazing but it’s definitely very nice and flavorful and the people who run the place certainly make you feel comfortable and welcome.

In Ft. Worth for a few days for work and had a hankering for falafel. Staying in the hotel strip east of DFW near Ester Ave the night before departure, I found the Jericho had just what I needed. Some of the Unilocalers below are right — it’s kind of confusing on the ordering process, but the guys working there(owners?) really seemed glad that I stopped by. I ordered a combo plate of Falafel and Gyros. The Falafel was great, crispy patties with a that certain green color and a great nutty flavor that says that it’s more than chick peas in there. I wish I had ordered a full plate of it. I would definitely make this at least a lunch stop.

Curiousity finally got the better of me. I’ll keep things short: Set up for how to order is confusing. You are met with what looks like self serve but you actually end up having to give your plate to the guy behind the counter. Don’t bother asking questions if the aforementioned applies to you. Major language barrier but more of this conflict lied on the guy being aloof about everything. Stick with the non-meat items. Everything looked like it came in kicking and screaming about two days ago. I ordered the chicken but it was all dark meat… where’d the white meat go if not on the menu? Ordered the rice and«spicy» potatoes as my side dishes. Rice was alright(yellow saffron) but the potatoes were as spicy as saltine crackers. I’d say skip here unless you have no other choice of food on Esters at Pioneer.

A Jordanian friend of mine took me here, declaring it was some of the Mediterranean she’d had in the metroplex. I’m hard put to disagree. I got the spicy lamb, cauliflower, spinach, baba ghanoush, and moussaka. It was all amazing. The lamb was perfectly tender, juicy, and well-seasoned. I was suspicious of the spinach because its canned appearance, but I didn’t hate it! It was easily the least appetizing thing on my plate, but it wasn’t over-salted and it actually had discernible flavor. For dessert, my friend ordered us kanafa. She was weirded out by the topping — apparently, it’s usually shredded phyllo but instead they used harisa, which a syrup-soaked semolina cake. The rose water syrup was delicious, but I was a little off-put by the texture of the cheese. It was stringy and rubbery; imagine sweet, over-layered mozzarella. I think next time I’ll just go with the baklava. The service was great and the portions were perfect. They offered us more pita bread without even asking and our drink glasses never got too empty. I’ll definitely come back a few times. Maybe I’ll check out the huge sweets case they have.
