The original Grill Chicken taco is awesome! Street tacos very good as well. Fast food with a sit down service quality of food.

First time, last time. Pros: The restaurant was clean, plenty of parking and close to the movie theaters. Also, the outside of the soft taco was crispy. Cons: the inside of the carnitas soft taco contained mostly lettuce and very little meat. The bean burrito was filled with mostly refried beans and a few crumbles of meat. More Cons: I had to remind them about the soft taco(yes they forgot), the sauce selection was poor, and the girl at the counter did not know what carnitas were made of. All of this happened with four customers including me. Oh, and the prices were too high for mediocre fast food. There are too many Mexican fast food joints around that location for me to bother with coming back. Adiós Jimboy, you get two sombreros for your effort.

Tried this place for the first time today and was not terribly impressed. We were the only car in line and ordered a 2 taco plate, a taco&enchilada plate, and a side of cinnamon churros from the drive thru. Drove away then realized that my taco&enchilada plate was missing the taco, and the churros were cream-stuffed, not plain cinnamon like I ordered. All that being said, the food was very tasty and I would most likely eat here again, hopefully next time my order will be correct and I will get all of it…

Ran in for a quick lunch, had never heard of this spot. Always like to try something new. Ok, these freakin tacos are great. I don’t know why anyone says otherwise. A taco shell grilled w Parmesan dust on it. I thought, that was odd but it is fantastic. I had the shrimp Diablo and the Jimboy Original. Both were so gooooood. The salsa bar actually has some fiery salsa and jalapeños. Yes, they make the taco as you ask for it, so they are not stacked up on a hot tray waiting to be tossed into a bag. It’s food truck fare w slower service like at a legit food truck, so plan to sit a few to get the best taco in town w an interesting flair. Taco Bell is down the street if you want a regular taco in 30 seconds or less. Just don’t stall the line for me at Jimboy’s because they obviously are doing it right if they have been around since 1954. I will be stopping anytime I roll thru Irving.

Disgusting! Burrito full of grease and sooo tiny for the price. I can get a bigger burrito with fresher ingredients for cheaper at Chipotle. I was also shorted money. She told me that she didn’t have enough money to make change, I just needed 3 dollars back! She left the window and never came back, I waited 5 minutes, guess that’s how they make money too! Better off at Chipotle, Taco Bueno, Taco Bell, etc.

First off the cashier that took my money shorted me 2 dollars. Reallly! After 8 minute wait Got my ground beef burrito and for the price they charge I am not impressed. The burrito was small, greasy and Taco Bell across the street is honestly better for half the price. I think they should pack up and go back to California.

Give the place a break!!! You people are always complaining about something!!! No one is ever satisfied! Yes Jimboy’s food is a little pricey, but so is everything else that taste worth anything!!! If you cannot say something good, don’t say anything at all!!! I like their food and will continue to support them. If you don’t like their good… go to Taco Bueno or Taco Bell!!!

I’d never heard of Jimboy’s Tacos before, but at the urging of a friend, I gave it a shot. I really liked it. You’re greeted as soon as you walk in, which is nice. The menu is easy to navigate. I started with the street Tacos. Your choice, carnitas, steak, or chicken. I really like the carnitas.(they have changed the street Tacos since I started coming here, but they’re still good) There are also their Jimboy’s Signature Tacos. These are ground beef, in a Taco she’ll, dusted with parmesan cheese. Different than other Tacos for sure. A somewhat different offering is the new steak and shrimp Tacos. These are done like the signature tacos, but with grilled steak or shrimp. The shrimp Taco adds a spicy sauce which I really like. The food may seem to take a little bit to come out, but everything us made from scratch. It’s worth the wait. Get a churro before you leave!

Why would you bring this fake taco stuff to Texas? I honestly don’t think this place will last long. If I had known how bad the tacos were, I would have spent 99 cents on Jack in the Box tacos. Also parmesean cheese on your taco shells!?! You really lost me there. This place is NOT recommended.

one star is too many. went to the drive thru for the first and last time tonight. ordered steak super nachos and added jalapeños, which were not on the menu under extras. thought that was sort of odd. also ordered two chicken and one beef street taco. added a coke with no ice and a side of guac. the drive thru worker told me that the total was $ 24 and some change. uh, no. got to the window and questioned him and he was frazzled with the register. he said the register was printing all of the orders. i told him i was only concerned with mine. turns out he made my tacos regular and not street.(i specified at the window.) he told me the jalapeños would be $ 1.59 and i told him to 86 them. that’s ridiculous. order total was then $ 17.40. that’s pretty expensive for two people to eat… whatever. he ran my card and then tried not to give me a receipt, saying that we were going to have to do things on the ‘honor system.’ i told him that we were not and that i needed my receipt. he had to get someone to help him, but he finally produced a receipt-but it wasn’t an itemized receipt! he told me that the machines didn’t do it that way. WTF?!? so i asked him what would happen if i had an issue with my order? he gave me his full name and told me he would give me the manager’s card. he then told me the CEO’s son was in the building. i told him that he needed to get his dad’s company together because there were some obvious issues! he noted that the CEO’s son is young. i told him it was no excuse for the long wait time at the window. i told him i should get those jalapeños on the house at the very least. he did that. my order finally came out. someone else(possibly the young son of the CEO) handed me the order and apologized for the delay. he then handed me a coke with ice… ugh! he had to take it back and replace it. listening skills are lacking with jimboy’s. so is flavor. won’t be returning. could have fed an entire village at taco bell for $ 17.00.(never got the side of guac i ordered or that manager’s card either.) it’s also worth noting that NO sauce came with the street tacos. damn! can i get some salsa verde or regular salsa?

First visit to Jimboy’s. Taco is $ 3.58, good taco but not work $ 3.58. Bean and cheese burrito was good. A lot of employees working the area but it took about 8 minutes to get my food and the place was not busy. The place will probably fail due to large overhead(too many employees on duty) and cost of tacos.

It’s been awhile since this location opened, and I went back the other day to satisfy my craving for JB tacos. The customer service has greatly improved. No wait to order. I happened to check in on Unilocal as I walked in and realized they offered a free taco. The lady at the register was patient to figure out how to ring it up. Don’t forget to use that! This time I dined in and the order came out fast. Experience was great and the food was right on! The food is great so I’m really glad the service improved. Really counting on this place to last. :)

It’s okay! Truly just OK. No wow-factor. The food does taste fresh, but it’s greasy. A taco cost 3bucks, 3bucks; it’s not worth $ 3. JimBoy’s recently opened in Irving next door to TacoBell… DelTaco tried this location and failed, I’m afraid the same will happen to JimBoy’s Tacos. I ordered ground beef nachos(big portion, but again greasy and everything kinda clumped together) and a taco — cost $ 10.05. Too greasy & gooey to eat it all. I would not recommend.

One star is too much. We tried the original taco combo at the employees suggestion(2 tacos, chips, and a drink.) We ordered 2 combos and 3 kids meals. We were given 4 tacos, 1 basket of chips and 1 kids meal. When I asked for the remainder of our order, the 1st response I got was«just give the other two kids 1 of these tacos, it’s basically all the kids meal is anyway.» When I responded that we were missing two tacos, 4 sides of chips and the kids surprises, the employee responded that he was new and would have to get the manager. The cashier stepped in and gave me the missing chips and asked for them to make two tacos. After waiting at the counter for a rather long time, I heard an employee ask«What’s she standing there for?» Rather rudely. The casher responded that I was waiting for my 2 missing kids meals. After waiting even longer, I had to ask if anyone was making the two tacos. I cashier finally got someone to make the missing tacos and also gave me a few free taco coupons for my trouble. Since we eat as a family the first tacos we received were cold and soggy with grease. Overall food quality was poor. Tacos were a greasy mess. I guess the fun kids meal surprise was the greasy bag their food finally came in that we had to throw onto the trash. I leave almost next door and will not be going back for even to use the free taco coupons. The restaurant was at least clean.

Sometimes when you don’t have time to sit in a restaurant you find yourself at a fast food joint. Today I ventured into this taco place. The building actually looks pretty cool from the outside. The inside it was very clean and new. I noticed there were a bunch of customers standing around and people waiting on their orders. When we got to the counter we ordered the taco plate, bean and cheese burrito and steak street taco. Food was actually really good. Beef taco was super greasy but my boyfriend enjoyed it non the less. He said atleast it’s not as Greasy as jack in the box. Bean and cheese burrito was great. They offer a salsa bar that I liked, but the taco sauce in the packets are gross. The only cons I have are too many workers at one time. Food should be coming out in seconds with that amount of employees. I think I saw 11 or 13 people. The older white lady I presume is the manager. She was yelling at the staff in front of all the customers. She was telling them to stop talking and stop standing around. This is very embarrassing to an employee. There needs a better leader in this establishment. That being said, I would go back.

Subpar food, music was way too loud, under trained and unsupervised employees. For a company that’s been in service since 1954 they didn’t uphold the dining experience. It wasn’t an enjoyable dining experience.

Highly mixed feelings about my first visit here to the newly opened Jimboys on Beltline. I went here with a few friends later at night, and will say the inside of the place and music selection are pretty nice. It is a little more costly than some fast food($ 14 for two tacos, a small burrito, and a medium drink) but with the claim of freshness I’m okay paying a little more. Chicken burrito was fairly good. Meat tasted excellent, and it had a good amount of cheese. Make sure not to have it over an open lap though as it has a lot more juice in the end than you’d think. The beef tacos… Okay, we have an issue now. The meat isn’t spicy at all. I think we got some from the bottom of the container and they didn’t drain it. Grease doesn’t begin to describe it. If it were hair, you’d have jheri-curl going on. The taco shell had gone from crispy to a falling apart wet mess due to it. Also, these were definitely some corn tortillas that had been sitting around a few days. The flour one was excellent on the burrito, but corn tasted as if they’d been in a fridge. Other problem we had pop up is that despite ordering one after the other, food did not come out remotely as such. My order, then one friend, then someone across the place, drive thru for a long time, some guy who came in drunk 10 min after us’s order, then eventually the last of our small group. Had to just bag it as everyone else was long finished. EDIT: Went back and ordered a single taco. It came out in a reasonable time, but was extremely bland, but thankfully not as greasy. However due to the tacos not being wrapped, but in a sleeve, an employee tilted the bag when handing it to me resulting in a wad of toppings on a tortilla. RE-EDIT: One last shot as a friend wanted to try them again. Ordered two tacos and two classic chicken burritos($ 18). Pull up and pay. Notice the receipt has a different chicken burrito on there. I ask about it, and get told«We’re out of the other chicken.» Sooooo I’m thinking it’s four on a slow Sunday and no prep was done? I ignore it, and say I’ll still take them. Twenty minutes later, I check the boxes(whew, they learned to not let them slop in a sleeve!) and it seems all there. I get home, start to eat, and quickly find the chicken in the tacos is burnt and the burritos are ice cold inside. Guess that’s what I get for questioning their changing my order on me. Done with this place as is my friend. When a half drunk computer gamer friend won’t finish his taco, I think that qualifies as inedible. Won’t be back, and if friends want to, they can drive themselves I’m not going.

I had been hearing the advertising for a few weeks before so I knew they were opening today. They had free tacos from the truck outside and cokes, then inside you could order what ever you wanted from the menu. I tried the original beef and a bean taco. Both were very good! The Parmesan cheese on the outside of the shells was great and something I’ve never seen before. I am excited to have this close to my house and will definitely come again.
