Staff was always friendly. This is my third time here. Food is good. Love their Rice Bowl!

I had been hesitant to try this location after reading the Unilocal reviews, but Masala Wok in Austin was one of my favorite fast food places so I gave it a try and was really hoping to prove the reviews wrong! I was hoping that because there are so good Indian food places around here that they were being judged too harshly for authenticity. So I gave it a try. Their customer service was above average the food came out in a reasonable amount of time, and they got my order right and the portion size was normal. So far so good. Unfortunately, no matter how I tried to rationalize it, the Southern Curry was terrible! It was really watery, like some kind of broth(see photos), and barely tasted like curry. The lemon or whatever the citrusy flavor is was the strongest flavor in it but overall it was very bland… like you might expect curry that is half water to taste. Normally Masala Wok curry is rich and thick. This place is right by my house so I wish they’d listen to their customers’ reviews and get it together because I would eat there all the time. Out of visits to 3 different Masala Wok locations, this is the only one that has ever been a disappointment, which is very ironic given the population of Indian folks in the neighborhood. As it is, I won’t go back unless there’s some indication they’ve made some changes.

Awful food — bland and tasteless. For example, we ordered the chicken biryani and it only contained rice, one small egg and the smallest portion of chicken I have ever seen! To be fair, they did give a lot of rice but that too was not cooked properly(and had zero taste). Had(mostly) high hopes but will not be going to this place again.

This Place need to revive itself or it will die !! They seems to be lost between Indian and Chinese cuisine as a result they are no where. I am writing this review after giving them 3 chances on different occasions. Can somebody tell them Chilly chicken is not just boiled chicken with onion and bell peppers !! And a dry. DRY chilly chicken doesn’t go well with again DRY boiled rice. How about non marinated boiled chicken in their so called butter chicken, Pls don’t disgrace the Indian delicacy. Hakka Noodles — Their Chef seems to be in real doubt that Hakka means red chillies. I suggest him to go to some nearby Chinese eatery to understand what Hkaka Noodles is all about. Lamb Curry — Lamb is something you cannot make on order from raw lamb. I am sure about it, however you did that last time when I got this to go. Roll — some chicken chunks with no seasoning or sauce wrapped around a thick and fluffy naan, disgusting. I suggest the chef to move some 2 miles from your place and check out at Kababs to go, they make it in front of the customer. To add on the rude attitude of the staff !! Oops.

Terrible place. Terrible food and even worse service. Went here last night. After 45 minutes of waiting for my food, I reminded them about it to find that they had forgot about it completely. When it finally arrived it was Chicken Tikka Masala that tasted like some canned chicken covered in tomato sauce. Second horrible experience here in a row.

I came here for lunch with my co-worker. We ordered the blazing noodles and chicken tikka masala. Our noodles came out 1 – 2 minutes right after we ordered. It was cold and OBVIOUSLY not fresh. I called the guy back and explained to him but he had no courtesy to even apologize. I ignored it anyway. Then our tikka masala came. It was fresh but messy. The curry was all over the plate an spilling everywhere. I’ll be back but today was not so pleasant.

Such a rip-off. Ordered the Tandoori Wrap…$ 9. The wok vegetables added $ 2, then a drink, another $ 2. Fourteen bucks for this? Never be back.

This place is a hit and miss kinda establishment! My husband and I have gone here numerous times and taken family; sometimes the spice and taste is right on and other times it seems as if they don’t care for customers to return. The quantity of the food has taken a drastic hit, don’t know if there’s new management or what, but they need to go back to the original portion size in order to retain former customers! I remember ordering dry manchurian and when I brought it home, my husband stated, «Did they run out of cauliflower?» Since the pieces were so few and small. Good Luck!!!

DELICIOUS! I don’t get why other reviews are so low, I tried masala wok for the first time a couple of weeks ago and loved it! The chicken tikka masala was one of the best I have had– perfectly spiced and really flavorful. The nan and rice are slightly lacking but this has to be one of the better Indian food options around!

Indian Americanized(confused with Chinese) Fast Food — All in all«Methinks Not». Not worth spending 10 – 12 $ on greasy tasteless food.

Wow… I use to love this place. Good food, but apparently they have changed their pricing and I just paid almost $ 12 for something that use to only be $ 8. I wont be coming here anymore I am afraid. The price is not worth a fast food meal…

Lol! I’m laughing because this is NOT Indian food. This is not even kind of Indian food, this is Chinese food with a Indian like sauce. I cannot begin to explain how disappointed I am with this place. The chicken tasted just like friend chicken that would be used with an orange chicken sauce. It just tasted breaded and no way like any type of Indian dish! The nann bread tasted like it was bought at Walmart and heated up by A fluorescent light bulb! On a positive note the basmati rice was cooked not horribly. But will def not becoming back, I can’t begin to explain how disappointing this place is

Why all the hate in the comments? We enjoyed this place very much. It’s a bit complicated to order at first, but once you get the hang of it, it works. The place is clean, the service was great and fast, the food was awesome… what else do you want? We will be back.

Their Menu/sheff must be from mars, because these kind of lame food combinations are not at all supported by indian, chinese or any damn cuisines in this planet at-least.

Wow, where do I begin? Bottom line is that I’m amazed they’re still in business. Worst service ever. We got there twenty minutes before closing time and they said we had to get food to go because they didn’t want us staying past closing time. Ok. Be that way. The truth was that they didn’t want us eating there because we would have sent the food back. The only redeeming quality was that the entrees were hot. But they were way oversalted and the vegetables were mealy. Cheap on the proteins, too. And the naan was soggy. Yuck! Won’t be going back there. Ever.

I have been a customer of Masala Wok for a couple of years, and have always had good experiences. I find their food and portions consistently good, the prices are reasonable and they have a huge menu. I do think that sometimes they are under staffed because there are no condiments or napkins or silverware on the service bar, but all I had to do is let them know and they take care of it right away. Same things when the tables aren’t clean. I really enjoy their veggie samosas and their paneer dishes.

The Fast Food Americanized Indian Food in Irving but I don’t care! They have really good Tikka Masala and Garlic Naan bread. That’s basically the only thing I get here but my friends love the other dishes such as Butter Chicken. I like that the prices are a little more affordable as well. Check out groupon before you go, sometimes there are some deals for this location. If you go during dinner time, you will be surrounded by fellow Indian and Asian families. It gets packed! Like I always say, if the natives come it must be pretty good. Enjoy!

If you’re looking for some semi-authentic, fast, and laid back Indian food dining, I’d recommend giving Masala Wok a try. One of my personal favorites is their lamb curry with garlic naan… it is simple and tasty!

Tried the lamb curry, nothing fantastic really. The curry was not thick enough. Rice was so-so, naan was chewy like a piece of rubber. Why did this even deserve 2 stars? Because their fried rice saved it. If all else fails, just order their fried rice. Funny how an indian restaurant makes better fried rice than their curry.

Plain & simple: the food was nasty :-(. I ordered Asian stir-fry with veggies and tofu, and vegetable biryani. These are standard dishes, yet MW figured out how to make them as terrible as possible. The stir-fry looked like a bowl of brown grease — too gross. The grease even proved too much for the rice w/which I tried to tried sopping it up. The biryani tasted just like plain rice with some veggies mixed in — flavorless. The quality of MW has definitely declined since I was here last(about 1 yr. ago). As my hubby says, «dis-gust-ing» PS I wanted a vegetable samosa also, but MW was reportedly out of them all week.
