Metroplex Self Storage

The owner’s name is Howard Lawson. He drives around in very fancy cars, while he neglects fixing the golf cart for his fifty something female manager that he makes walk the huge property on her two feet with a fifty pound bag of locks on her back in the heat. He is very abusive to his mangers especially female. I also heard that he ran a seventy something year old manager of his so hard that he literally had a heart attack and his wife literally had a stroke working at the on site over filled dumpster.
Then Howard thanked him with abruptly firing him. Next, he hired a female manager along with her husband to work the front desk and a year later decided to change his mind with no warning know verbage, he just showed up with his camera and started taking pictures of the manager and her husband in the golf cart working the property as though they where now criminals. He sent the picture to the manager’s supervisor in an email falsely accusing the manager of illegally having her husband on the job. The husband left town because he wasn’t going to stay locked in that upstairs apartment all day… that wasn’t the hiring deal.
I am also informed that Howard for years, refused to keep the manager’ on site apartment up to code… disrepair all over… garbage disposal leaks through down stairs ceiling… giant stain evidence.
Howard also made the manger give up her small dog to CONTINUE working and living there. As though that is not enough, he pays the cheapest workers to do maintenance and pretend to «fix» the storage doors. Mine has not been fixed since I told Terry several times to please fix back in FEBRUARY…9 MONTHS ago!
Also Howard likes to hire his snooty niece, Brenda that from what I hear doesn’t know what she is doing. She leaves lots of unfinished customer paper work. I am told that another female, Sandy was told to quit or she would be fired. Sandy was rehired and I was told is believed to have stollen hundreds of dollars of storage payments from several unrelated customers… the customers called asking why the got emails for non payment. Apparently Sandy accepted hundreds of $‘s and did not report it paid in the computer system.
I am told that Terry thinks that he is too good for serving customers in general. I was told by a credible employee that he stores alcohol in the on site refrigerator and drinks on the job and is often times at the bar instead of at work when he is scheduled on Thursday and other days. The female manager tells the customers to tell Terry that they will call back when she is at work.
Howard has about 102 units with no doors on this property. I was told that he likes the property half empty so he can use the property as a tax right off. I believe that is why his is such a negative force toward his female manager; he wants the property to fail for a tax write off. An ex employee and current employee reported this tax scheme… Run half the customers off.
I have personally witnessed his false accusations that he makes to me for no other reason than totally demoralizing harassment. He let’s lots of well off people block the fire lane with truck and bounce house, ect. For half a day to all day on a regular basis and never says a word. However, they are 99% male customers that he lets get away with real crime.
But if he see a poor woman with a small push cart temporarily parked next to her unit NOT IN A FIRE LANE, Howard will go irate falsely accusing her of blocking the fire lane… Read the bible on the parable of the greedy king that shared nothing with the handicap poor man… God never released him from hell.
Howard doesn’t want to admit that he hates the women and the poor so he makes up lies and has his manager Terry carry out the rest of the harassment. I have been told that Terry is an alcoholic because of Howards constant abuse.
For over a year the entrance gate is broke and what is left of the gate is a long board that lifts high and within seconds crashes down on your vehicle if you do not wait on the edge of it while a friend enters their gate code… you need a head start and must peel rubber not to have that board slam into your hood denting it. I have never seen such a dangerous gate waiting for a lawsuit.
The property has severe hills that cause big pot holes all over the place. My power chair was ruined by these pot holes and I witnessed a customer entering the front gate get the frame of their car stuck on the big cement hill.
Howard inherited the property when his parents died… he has not worked a hard day in his life… psycho bully. If you would not buy a product from a sweat shop, don’t buy from a sadistic bully. Send Howard a letter and let him know what you think about him abusing his older workers and women and the poor. It is easier for a camel to fit through a needle than a rich man to enter heaven… read the bible. God bless

The equipment was fine, but the employees and management do not understand customer service. First, they did not include my appliance dolly in the truck. This inconvenience cost me valuable time and mileage. They close at 1:00 on Sunday and if you return the trucks after this time, they erroneously charge you for an extra day. After being overcharged for a day, I called in to have the extra charges reversed. I was told the manager would look into it and call me back. Two weeks later and I still haven’t heard back. Now, when I call in to this location, nobody answers the phone. I will now be contacting my bank to dispute the credit card charges. I would encourage anyone considering this location to look elsewhere. UHaul corporate also needs to investigate this terrible location, as it’s ruining their brand with unacceptable customer interactions.

I made a reservation for a U Haul last week and chose this location for pick up.
It was nice because I got email and text confirmation from U Haul with all the relevant information. Very convenient!
The text said I could pick up as early as 10am. Since my partner did not get home until 2pm, I decided to walk 1.77 miles from my house to this location to pick up as early as I could. The walk only took about 30 minutes and was quite leisurely at 9:15am, until I felt the sun pound on me after the first 10 minutes of walking. I finally arrived at the location to pick up the truck and was promptly greeted by Jacqueline.
I started to tell her I was there for a truck pick up when she noticed that I was drenched in sweat. I told her about my walk over to her and she said hold on and gave me a cold bottle of water. She then proceeded to make arrangements to get the truck I had reserved. It took all of five minutes.
Jacqueline’s welcome was wonderful and I could not have asked for more. It’s the employees that make the business and that’s why I gave 5 stars.
