After my last review seven months ago, The Ranch management graciously requested us to give them another chance. Our server was excellent and I real wish I could remember his name now. Anyway, this time another couple went with us. The apps were fantastic again. I can’t say enough how great they were and we all agreed we would come back for them anytime. However for the entrees we weren’t very happy. I got the chicken fried steak and so did one of our friends. We both left ½ on the plate. Our other friend had a steak and she said it was«just so-so» which I took as average. She ate about half but did take it home since it was on the expensive side. My hubby got a burger and he said it was really good so 1 out of 4 were happy with their main dish. I would say go and fill up on the apps! We got the chips and queso, the Chef’s Favorite Four which is a sampler, black eyed pea hummus and the poutine. We really wanted to love it because this place has a great look and vibe but it fell short for us. It’s not terrible by any means just not great…

Service 5⁄5 stars Food 5⁄5 stars Wine/cocktails 5⁄5 stars Great happy hour. Good quality happy hour wine! Their margaritas are great too! The flatbreads are half off for Happy hour and they are fantastic. You can tell they use good quality ingredients. The crab dip is amazing as well. The service is stellar. I love this place!

We were in Ft. Worth for a wedding, and wanted some good Texas steak. We decided to come to the Ranch after reading the good reviews. We ended up coming here two nights in a row – the food was great and the atmosphere was busy enough that I didn’t have to worry about my kids being too loud and disrupting other diners. The highlight of the meals was the 33 oz wagyu beef tomahawk steak my husband and I split. It was perfectly cooked and delicious.

I ordered the Smoked Turkey Burger and chips/queso. The fries were outstanding, and didn’t need ketchup or anything else added! The queso wasn’t spicy but quite flavorful, as were the chips– much better than I would expect for a non-Mexican restaurant. If you like an extremely smoky burger, maybe you’ll like this one. I love a smoked flavor on chicken breast, steak, barbecue, but this turkey burger tasted like charcoal! It wasn’t dry, so I don’t think it was overcooked, but you couldn’t taste any meat– only the smoke. I would come back, but next time I’ll stick to grilled or pan-fried fare!

Nice, upscale steakhouse. The waitstaff was very knowledgeable and friendly. I ordered the 16 oz. prime rib with a side of vegetables. The portion was big and was only able to eat half so I ate the other half for leftovers. The steak was tender and full of flavor. Kind of expensive so great place to come every now and then.

I am absolutely ADDICTED to the«smoked fried chicken»…I dream of this stuff, and on my last visit I discovered their house made hot sauce! Took that dish to a whole different level! The entire menu is great, but this stuff is magical. The Ranch is a semi regular lunch spot being in between my office and a client, and the food is always perfectly prepared and delivered pretty quickly to the table. For dinner it’s a good idea to make a reservation because they fill up FAST, and for good reason. Great staff of knowledgeable servers, energizing atmosphere, and an overall great experience. The one negative isn’t The Ranch’s fault — parking close can be tough so give yourself some time to get there.

Given the fact that there’s not much in the surrounding area, The Ranch is one of the better options. Although the restaurant falls under the«steakhouse» and«American(New)» buckets, The Ranch struggles to specialize in either. The cheeseboard, while delicious, was not memorable. I may have frequented The Ranch on a few occasions but cannot recall a defining moment when I thought, «Ah ha! This is my go-to-place now.» Like The Keg, The Ranch is usually packed and not exactly quiet or peaceful. However, given the casual ambiance, The Ranch may be more suitable for catchup with friends. Personally, whenever I meet friends for dinner here, I have trouble having a coherent conversation with them. Regardless, give The Ranch a try. You’ll find a number of comfort food items on the menu, which you may need after long days at work.

After an extremely long week at work. My coworker and I decided that we needed to hit up a happy hour ASAP. We wanted to venture out from our usual spots and try something new. So while being super productive at work we looked up The Ranch. The menu looked decent so we decided to hit them up. As soon as 4:30pm hit we were off to happy hour. When we arrived for happy hour the patio was pretty full. It’s huge and has opening seating. So good luck with that while the weather is still bearable. We actually found seating so we were happy. Kristen was our server and she was really nice and helpful. Especially, since my friend had questions after questions. Bless her heart she never got frustrated. Kristen was very knowledgeable and made some awesome suggestions. The prices are comparable to most happy hour. You know the usual ½ price drinks, flatbreads and etc. We ordered several things: oysters, Smoked Mozzarella and Bacon flatbread, Texas Lump Crab, and dessert. Everything was tasty. We left happy and full. Oh I almost forgot. We were entertained by live music on the patio. You can check out who will be playing that evening via website. Good patio weather and live music is always a good thing. If you’re ever in the Las Colinas area. Go check it out.

Walked in on a busy Friday the manager, Lynelle greeted us right away and found us a nice table near the patio. Great live music. The food was awesome. I got the skirt steak salad. All the ingredients are local. Service was great! Special treat sent after dinner on the house was a sticky toffee cake, oh my to die for! Our waitress was Elisa and she was great! We will be back!

Been here a couple times and I was not really impressed. Service was so-so both times; this last time the waiter forgot a few items and was hardly there to refill our drinks. The restaurant has great ambience and their patio is awesome for happy hour. I hear they have great happy hour specials, as well.

Been here twice now and they are just ok. The atmosphere is very nice, but the food just does not live up to the atmosphere for me. One thing I should probably clarify though, I don’t drink and I notice most of the reviews that rave about the place mention a drink or two. I am not accusing anyone of bad judgement in their alcohol induced experience, I am just saying maybe this is just not my kind of place. I know several people rave about the food here, but honestly, my burger the first time I went was not that great at all, and the prime rib sandwich I got my second time was just«ok». In both categories, I have had much better at many other restaurants. The service has always been pretty good, but once again nothing that«wows» or is in the category of «outstanding».

The Ranch is a restaurant that offers everything you can think of on the menu. Their appetizers are good, e have gotten the queso before. The onion rings are pretty good as well. The flatbreads are good, and the salads are pretty good as well. There is a lunch rush, so expect to wait a little bit before you get seated as well as dinner. If you have room for dessert, get the pecan pie, it does not disappoint! The Ranch is a good spot for happy hour as well. I’ll definitely come back.

Definitely a place to check out when you come to Dallas. Loved the atmosphere and the most amazing music on Friday night. The Farro with rainbow chard was amazing, the mac&cheese was tastier, and the goat cheese grits were definitely the best. I’m not a meat eater but the steaks were cooked to perfection. If you asked for a medium rare, you got a medium rare steak. So, order want you want. :) The music was amazing when I was there on Friday. It was this singer who could do loops and a bit of beat boxing. He took requests and definitely enjoyed his gig. Would definitely go back again if I’m in the area. Pro tip: they have fantastic manhattans — they refrigerate their bitters which makes a difference in the best way.

I attempted to give The Ranch another try since I’m in the area for lunch. It was a pretty large crowd during lunch time but the wait wasn’t that bad. We got to our table the wait staff was super friendly and helpful so that’s a big plus. I looked over the menu and decided the lump crab dip as an appetizer and this veggies flatbread as my main dish. The lump crab dip came out I took a scoop and put it onto the pita bread. It looks delicious inside that square clay pot so I was so excited to take a bite into it. So sad it tasted so salty, all I taste was the salt and no other favors to it. I was super disappointed so I had to push it to the side. My flat bread came out loaded with tomatoes, goat cheese and other ingredients. The crust was crispy and good but the center of the flat bread was so soggy and cold. My thinking was it so be crispy all the way through. So another disappointment again, my lunch wasn’t fulfilling, so I’m not sure if I’m picking out the wrong dish or the chef was having a chaos day.

My first time in Texas, thanks to my company’s training accommodations. Figured — when in Texas, I must get a big Texas steak, grits and see a cowboy. I got nice 12oz Angus filet($ 65. thanks, boss), grits(which I realized I’m not a fan of) and. eventually I met a cowboy. he was my coworker, he has the accent, no hat, and a pair… of converse on. we took a ride in his Jeep, blasting hotline going while getting in-n-out. after drinking… cos. murica? right? When in Texas. go big. or don’t go home at all, or something. anyways. The Ranch was extremely accommodating, professional and relatively quick with service. granted it took about 30minutes to get our drink orders and the wait staff definitely saw me as a girly man… after asking«mind if I keep it classy with a Shirley temple? «…guy looked at me and replied with«I don’t think we have the correct Grenadine for that»(I took it as a ‘Man up’ and ordered a Manhattan next chance I got… which was a bit too spiced for my taste and just sat there. while I smiled and sipped on it as he passed like. ‘what chu lookin’ at bro? I got this… ’). Haha but overall, for a business centralized place, 30minutes or so for food is relatively nice, you don’t want your meeting to go by too quickly or drag out too long, and the appetizers are enough of a filler that you’ve gotta watch out for the main course! Would’ve like to check out the dessert menu, but we were all very much stuffed after the main course. Would totally recommend. but I do caution when making plans to ask if they’re doing their dinner services or buffet before coming in. apparently our company said this was the first time The Ranch was on point with everything and they’re usually just a mediocre buffet setup.

This has been long overdue because I was here for a Christmas luncheon with our client. There was about 40 of us and we all shared onion rings, queso, and salsas for appetizers. I had the chicken fried steak for entrée and it was okay. The breading fell a part and the flavor was lacking. Not the best chicken fried steak I’ve ever had. Their appetizers was better than the main courses. My coworker didn’t like her meatloaf either. Perhaps we had a big party and they rush to get out the food?

Not only is The Ranch the best steakhouse in Irving but in my opinion, it’s among the top steakhouses in the DFW area. This place truly captures the perfect mix of being a nice, upscale quality restaurant without being pretentious or stuffy, all while staying true to its Texas roots. Food here is farm-to-fork, meaning much of the menu is locally sourced, for example, seafood is from The Gulf of Texas, the chicken, the Kobe beef, even many vegetables are all from Texas farms. On the menu you will find not only Texas staples such as oversized juicy cowboy ribeyes, fall off the bone ribs, and catfish, but also not-so-common but equally yummy options like elk tacos, venison chili, and wild game sausage. Hungry yet? You can make reservations, but I’ve had good luck each time I’ve dined here, never having to wait. It can get loud at times. Good live music, stocked wine room, nice big patio, great service and happy hour specials. Also, on a random side note, they even offer helicopter rides! Great spot for a date night or for large groups. Love this place.

A very enjoyable meal. In town on business and this is really fit the bill. Decent value, not too upscale, lots of choices. Started out with the tortilla soup. More of a purée than a chunky concoction but really good flavor. We also split the elk tacos. No idea what elk tastes like but it was a darn good taco. Lots of traditional fillings and a tasty crispy shell. I had the baby back ribs which were served with a mac n cheese and cornbread. Delicious, fall off the bone tender and a very good and tangy sauce on the side. Wash it all down with a very serviceable local brew and a tumbler of Buffalo Trace Bourbon over ice(the perfect mixer) and I was one happy cowboy.

Found this place again on Unilocal and thank god it was close by our hotel at the airport. The place was enormous and had cool large neon billboards. It has indoor dining, a high ceiling terrace area and also an outdoor seating. Best part was the free live music by the terrace bar so that’s where we sat. Our server immediately introduce herself, explained the menu & suggested some of her favorites. She was very friendly and energetic. Started with margaritas. Nice and strong and liked the way the glass was salted… diagonally. Ordered the Hughes Springs Catfish Fillets. Great crunch from the cornmeal batter and fish was moist, not over fried. Also got the Smoke Fried Chicken. Perfectly fried breaded juicy decliciousness :) The corn bread & roasted marble potato salad that came with the entrée were great as well. Both portions were more than enough for the 2 of us. Well made drinks, awesome food, excellent service w/live music. Plus close to the airport w/easy access from freeway. This is a very well ran restaurant indeed.
