This company is awesome. We had a bit of a problem to begin with but the owner is very serious about customer satisfaction. He contacted me and my rebate check was in the mail almost the very next business day.
If you are not satisfied he will make you satisfied.

and the customer service regarding my rebate check not being issued, I was personally contacted by the owner and CEO of the company Nick Barber. Nick explained to me in detail the different possibilities that could have prevented me from receiving my check in a timely manner. He showed genuine compassion and interest in my problem and when I hung up the phone with Nick I was beyond satisfied with the resolution of the problem. Umovefree is ran by a CEO who knows first hand what good customer service is about. Based on the actions Nick took to personally reach out to me and resolve the situation I give
5 stars and will HIGHLY recommend. Nick is the man.

Well. To this day no one has called me and I’ve contacted Maribel 3 times since my initial review. BUT… I checked the mail today and PRESTO a rebate check was waiting for me (dated 9÷9÷15 but who’s complaining *sarcasm*)… Was it worth the hassle? Probably not, but it’s comforting to know I wasn’t scammed!

I’ve used UMOVEFREE twice (Agent: Stephen M.) and I have not had an issue with each move.
Just remember to list them as a locator service and the move is LITERALLY free (plus tips if you’re courteous, also water doesn’t hurt during the summers!)
Customer Service: ⁵⁄₅ They’ve called in preparations of, during, and even after the move to see if everything went okay. They do their best to accommodate their customers and it shows really well!
Moving service: 4.5÷5 No moving company is perfect, but the movers I’ve had in the past are pretty close. They’ve disassembled my bed, and reassembled my bed with little to no problems, as well as making sure every glass, desk corner, couch is left with minimal to no scratches, dents, or breaks with the saran/​bubble wrap, and throw blankets for proper cushion.
Overall, I’ve had no problems and will continue using their services.

The service itself is pretty good. Its not a scam like most think but there is a catch. You only receive a $ 200 check if your rent is over $ 800, if not you only get $ 100 which takes about 6 weeks to receive. I found some nice apartments but the main down fall was most were almost $ 100 off of the actual monthly rent when you call the property. I think this site can be very beneficial as long as you pay close attention to details and do a little work on your own. I gave them only a 3 because the awful communication of the rebate and my agent Kale was the worse. If I did use them again I would make sure they gave me someone else.

It took some time but the company did finally help me out by sending me an additional check to cover some of the damages. Now, that wont buy me all new stuff but it can get me started again in recovering from the damages. Nick Barber was very helpful and he honestly felt bad for my experience. You know when someone is BS’ing you and he really never sounded like he was.
Bad moves will happen and it happened to me… Unfortunately; so I may try them again with caution on who they are contracting to move me in the future. The wound is still pretty fresh so I cant say for sure right now or not. But they did follow up and try to correct the horrible situation.

My ordeal started with this company in March of 2014 and still continues as of today. Basically i was refused to receive the rebate check that i was promised because of their internal back office work. I even went out of my way to physically walking back and forth to the apt leasing office to do UMOVEFREE’S work to get their screwed up paperwork (at least that’s the excuse i was given) to get it cleared but occasionally get an email saying they are working hard to get it resolved (going into 9 months) which i think pretty much gave up on them. I WILL NOT RECOMMEND for anyone to use their service unless desired to be left with disappointments. No rebate no nothing but whole bunch of run around and excuses from them. Horrible was of making a living !
**Right after posting this review (same day) I received an email from the owner Nick Barber asking about my situation and was assured he will gt on it the first thing in the morning when he gets into his office. He called me the very next morning after reviewing my case and was assured me that he will send out the check regardless the very same day and the check + compensation was in he mailbox after 5 days I really thank Nick for taking his time to resolve the situation and takes a lot for the owner himself for reaching out to satisfy the customer as a company with great deal of professionalism and ownership.

I initially had a negative experience with my agent and my expectations about the rebate and how my agent handled my compliant.
The owner, Nick Barber, contacted me immediately to listen to my
compliant and work within the companies policies to find a solution.
I was surprised and impressed to get a response. He explained the
policies in place and the way the company works and was extremely
professional. I think it says a lot about a company when an owner reaches out
to a customer in situations like this.
I knew I had a very positive experience with a locator service in the past and
he had details from my past move on file that was a great experience. Nick explained how he would work with my agent on additional training to prevent the information gap that occurred with my most recent experience.
I will definitely use this service again and am very impressed with an owner who takes customer service seriously.

The morning after I posted my review I received a call from the owner Nick Barber. He was very apologetic about the experience I had with his company. He explained how he personally investigated the problem and where his employees had failed me. He seemed very sincere in this call. After he asked me several questions about my moving expenses, he decided to not only send me the $ 200 rebate his company advertises but, he would also include an extra $ 250 to help cover the cost of the new movers. (The new movers charged $ 150 per hour, 2hr minimum, and $ 150 fuel fee.) I was very happy to receive the attention my problem required and a check for $ 450 in the mail the next week. Although, I initially had a bad experience with UMoveFree, they have since made up for the error and I know they have made some changes to improve their service. I appreciate that, and I may consider using them in the future after all.

i was skeptical when I received the call from my agent Valencia. I had a hard time to find an apartment, based on my situation (credit issues) I explained to Valencia and she provided me with list of apartments complex that were flexible about this rule. You have to do your part, they help you with listing of apartment complex that fit your criteria. I found the apartment in the area i want to live. I put their info at the time of application. They have the rebate offer $ 200 or the 2 hours free from the moving company. I took the movers services and they were great. I had issues with the registration I called Valencia a couple times and she fixed the enrollment. the movers were on time and did the job in 2 hours (i don’t have to much stuff) and everything work out well for me. I can said this is legitimate, if you need help find it an apartment I will recommend it

Wow! Is where I’ll start. I never thought that A founder, CEO or a manger would care what I write on Unilocal.Well today was my lucky day! I got a call from the founder owner of umovefree! This place is NO joke! Taking action and making a customer happy is pretty Awesome! For someone of such higher up to take time to read my post and acknowledge the mistake I’m speechless. Sometimes someone drops the ball and you just accept it and move one, but today Nick picked the ball back up! I was very happy with the service hey I got my apt and it’s perfect! Perfect location all thanks to Emily. Yes I will be using them again regardless of the delay with my apt/​Umovefree rebate. Thanks guys!

I am here to give you the whole truth about UMoveFree.
First of all, it is not a scam. They are a locator service. What that means is that you refer them to the apartment complex, and in return you either get a rebate or a free move. If the rent of the place that you lease $ 800 or under, they give you a rebate of $ 100, or $ 100 off of your move. If it is over, then you get a free move or a $ 200 rebate. I opted for the move because well… I just wanted to move into my new place.
So here is what I did. I registered on their website, and I was contacted by my agent, Beth Hardin, who is great. Their service is free of charge to you, but you have to put them down on the guest card and your application. They can send you apartments that fit your criteria, or if you have a place in mind you can verify with Umovefree if they work with that management company/​complex.
Was the process easy? For the most part. My agent was nice and did a good job of following up. However, there are some caveats to the alleged free move. They charge you for small things. For example $ 25 to take down your bed, $ 25 to move a flat screen that is larger than 36 inches (I believe), etc. There were other charges, but they did not apply to my situation. When I called to schedule my move, the «moving assistant» was less than friendly when I asked about the charges. I called Beth and it was handled.
Other than that, everything went smoothly. The movers arrived on time, maybe a little early, and they were super courteous, and fast. They finished more than 30 minutes early, and we had to travel about 15 miles to my new place.
I would recommend this service. Just make sure that you know all of the details.

Recently moved to Dallas, and used this service in order to try to find apartments that fit me. I actually ended up picking an apartment that I found myself, which I’m a bit surprised they did not see. That being said, the person assigned to me tried to be helpful and provided me a lot of listings over the phone and online. I listed umovefree as the locator, since they give you 200 dollars for using them and listing them. To be honest, the check took forever to arrive (far longer than they said it should take) but it did finlly arrive. They say the rent check takes several weeks to arrive, but It took about 3 months. Overall nice for the help, just don’t expect the check to arrive quickly.

This site is a complete scam. I recently found an apartment using UMovefree. Their website lists two instructions to ensure you’ll receive your free move or rebate 1) make sure you fill out an apartment card saying you found your new apartment using Umovefree, and 2) report your lease to them after you’ve signed it.
After reporting my lease, one of their agents called me to let me know that for certain complexes, instead of filling out a guest card, one of their agents needs to physically escort you there for a visit in order to qualify for a free move. The agent admitted that this requirement isn’t listed on their website, so despite following their instructions to a T, they weren’t going to give me a free move or rebate.
The whole thing just seemed really scammy and slimy. I’d really recommend avoiding this site.

Just got my $ 200 check from Umovefree for using their service back in August! It takes a little bit of time for the check to come in because the apartment complex has to give Umovefree their referral bonus and then Umovefree has to cut the checks. While the turnaround time is long, you actually do get your check! (Moved in Aug 1^st and got the check today).
I will definitely be using them again if I need to move in Texas because their website is simple and easy to use and I love the fact that I get $$$!

She went above and beyond to find me the perfect place and then when I found one and changed my mind, she understood and helped me get into something else VERY quickly. I got a free move and the guys blew me away moving two apartments 20 min away from each other AND into a place downtown where parking is horrid under 4 hours. AMAZING. I will be recommending them to everyone I know.

BUT…they do not tell you that the apartments rent must be over $ 800 in order to receive a free move. Less than $ 800 you’l get a $ 200/​$ 100 move credit. Would have been nice to know that from the beginning.
But like I said. the agent was good and we got $ 100 out of it. So I’m not complaining.

UMoveFree is seriously awesome.
They move more for free and have more apartment complexes in their system than any other free moving apartment locator in DFW.
The movers were right on time, super professional, QUICK!!, and they even moved a little more than they should’ve done for free. All of my stuff was completely unloaded and stacked neatly in the new place in probably an hour or two from first arriving at my OLD place! Awesome.
I want to say this to ANYONE who is looking for a free move, who isn’t used to free moves from apartment locators:
There ARE rules and conditions for these moves; it’s not 100% of your 3,000 square foot mansion moved for free to a 1 bedroom apartment. Yes, they charge extra for 3^rd floors– so do regular movers. Yes, they have limits on what they will and will not move (this is clearly listed on their website! If you have too many things that they will not move, or too many things that cost extra, then it might be more cost efficient for you to take the $ 200 referral fee and use THAT to pay for some of the moving costs from a different company) — if they didn’t, then doing the free move would not be beneficial to them as a company.
My move was amazing. They moved more than they were supposed to for free, they moved my bicycle (which they weren’t «supposed» to move), and they never once dropped/​scratched/​dented/​damaged ANY of my items, including my king-​size bed and over large sofa. It was incredibly quick and professional.
Whenever I sign on to the site to browse listings, I’ll receive a phone call or an e-​mail from Dave at UMoveFree. He’s NOT at all pushy or annoying like other free moving locators…
When he contacted me in August or so, after I had signed on to the site, I told him that my lease wasn’t up until the end of January. He said he would give me another call at the end of November, when my notice was due at my current place, to put together listings and get a better idea of any specials/​rates going on.
Just like his word, he called me at the end of November. I’m flaky and am not great at returning calls, so he sent me an e-​mail asking if I was still looking to move, so he could put together a listing for me (he always puts together good places, too). When I told him that I was going to stay here for another year, he was great.
Other free moving places tend to get itchy when you tell them that you’re not moving (and therefore aren’t going to be using them as a referral service at the new apartment), but not Dave. He was super cheery and was glad that I liked this apartment enough to renew my lease for a second time.
I know for sure that when this next lease is up and we decide to move, I’ll immediately log on to UMoveFree. So many properties on there, floorplans that aren’t always available at other sites (like
or
) and so many MORE properties than are on the other free moving sites. I also know that after I start browsing for apartments, I’ll get a phone call or an e-​mail from Dave asking how he can help us out!
