Lovely restaurant! Great staff. I want to especially thank our waitress Claudia for being extremely friendly and helpful. Their house salsa was impressively delicious. They serve the best tortilla soup in DFW! It was so flavorful and packed with authentic mexican spices. I can’t wait to go back for more. I also ordered the grilled chicken plate which was very delicious. This place is a hidden gem. I highly recommend it.

Came for breakfast. We’re visiting from out of town for the holidays and looking for a breakfast spot. The food was good but service was terrible. Can’t blame the server completely as she was clearly overwhelmed. The were many times when there was no staff present on the floor. The manager had left. The portions for breakfast were rather small, but not too expensive. Other things seemed over priced. Cheesecake was too sweet. There are better places to go.

3 of us went there for lunch on a Wednesday at noon. I noticed there were only a few other patrons in the restaurant which seems strange given the size of the place. looking at the lunch menu the only special which was not Mexican food was chicken fried steak. so I ordered it as well as my brother and when we received it we both commented that it looks like it came out of a box pre breaded prefrozen with very little taste like cardboard. the greens were overcooked, the mashed potatoes were good, gravy was ok with salt and lots of pepper, the sliced tomatoes we’re not ripe, the okra came out of a box frozen, the green beans out of a can. the service and atmosphere was ok but we did have to wait a long time to pay for the bill. I’ll definitely joing somewhere else next time. it’s on the Do Not go list for our Lunch Bunch.

Went over around 130 p. m Saturday. Got inside and waited to be seated. Several of the wait staff walked by me without offering a table or a simple we will be right with you. Finally a waitress seated us and gave us menu’s. We waited over 20 minutes for the waitress to come back and take are order. Nobody ever came back to our table. This has never happened to me before. The place was not crowded at all. The place is not managed well at all. I just left and went to the KFC next door to get my lunch. I’m giving it 2 stars since my wife has ate there previously and said the food was o.k. I will not go back.

Sunday night 8pm. Me and my family were driving around looking for a place to eat and we noticed this café. To me, the name is decieving. The atmosphere screams Texas roadhouse/on the border. The house margarita was a frozen short glass that tasted like I mad made at home. Ok mix and light alcohol. The hurricane was horrible. Grenadine, light rum, dark rum and lime. That’s was horrible. The food was still just«ok». The waiter/bartender would rather argue and explain why the drink was right then just accept he sucks and the customer is always right. Overall, I will go somewhere else. I wasn’t thrilled and I dislike the name.

My family and I ate here for breakfast recently around 9:30am. It was not packed, but a good crowd. The food was delicious and the prices were very reasonable. I had the huevos con chorizo and my wife had an omelet. She was impressed with the potatoe slices because some places don’t cook them all the way through and leave them kind of raw in the middle. These were perfect. You get chips and salsa with breakfast too. Oh yeah. The food was cooked to perfection. The place is clean too. The waitresses were very friendly and on top of things. The manager(perhaps owner) asked us how the food was and chit-chatted a bit. Not all managers do that. I will definitely return next time I am in Irving. I would give it 5 stars but I need to go back and try lunch/dinner.

I give it three stars because I have only eaten here once for a late lunch, having Mexican food and burgers for lunch. the fajitas were well marinated and cooked, the chips crispy and salsa served warm with a smoky bite. They even kept my thirsty husband’s iced tea filled! the staff was pleasant and attentive. I am very curious about their breakfast and steak dinner selections. Definitely coming back for more.

I arrived for breakfast with a companion at 7:35 am on a bright, 60-degree, Thursday morning. Upon opening the doors, we were greeted with a dark restaurant. After talking with the cook, we decided to come back another day. UPDATE– Ten days later, we had a delicious breakfast. My steak and eggs were perfectly cooked(medium steak, eggs over medium). My companions’ chicken fried steak(crispy, corn flake-based) and large, thick pancakes were all delicious and served hot. One server, Tania, was handling the whole room of a dozen patrons. Slightly confusing menu, but everything was cheerfully explained to us. I originally gave this establishment one star, but restaurants have off days. Just like people, they can redeem themselves. As Unilocalers, we are advising those in our communities. Giving good advice has certain responsibilities, so you’ve got to give restaurants at least a second chance, to be fair.
Love this place! Great food, friendly staff, and very inexpensive!

Had wonderful fresh warm delicate chips and spicy salsa. He brought a pitcher of iced tea so we can take care of things, very smart. Good soup with chicken and rice. Good flavor beef enchiladas and rice. Would recommend, will have to try for breakfast.

This place is incredibly underrated. It’s right off of 183 so its location is easily accessible. Basically, they have a little bit of everything here; breakfast, lunch, dinner, etc. This is a nice little place to go on a Sunday morning if you hate waiting to be seated at places like IHOP or Denny’s. Their salsa is one of the best salsas I’ve ever had. Not too spicy, but just enough of a kick to have you asking your waiter for another bowl of chips. Their lemonade also has a unique taste, not too tart, but also not overly sweet either. I’ve had the pleasure of having Mexican food, breakfast food, and good ol’ fashioned southern cooking here and I enjoyed it every time.

This is a hidden gem in this area. Denny’s was so packed today for breakfast I decided to search«breakfast restaurants» on Google. since I am new to the area. Breakfast was very fresh and delish – loads better than Denny’s. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive. My new favorite spot for breakfast.

Still a great little diner but we’ve since stop going here for lunch because they simply don’t cater to the corporate lunch crowd. This is not a place that understands the quick lunch concept which is okay because they cook to order but it just isn’t a place you want to eat if you’re pressed for time.

My kind of food. Flavorful, fresh, hot! And the place has a nice western look. The Texas fajita omelette was top knotch. Best flavored fajita meat I’ve had in a long while. Love the marinade.

The menu website says soul food and Mexican food. I guess I should have tried the Mexican food because the Soul food didn’t have much Soul. I got the special which was catfish and 3 veggies. The catfish was pretty good probably Delta Pride pre-breaded strips so you can’t really mess those up but the veggies were not what I’m accustomed to. The fried okra was frozen breaded okra. The cabbage was overcooked and under seasoned. The staple of all Soul food cooking Mac-n-Cheese tasted like Kraft, which I hate. I’m not sure I will try this place again if I do, I’ll try a Mexican dish. There was a sizzling dish of fajita’s being served on the next table and they smelled good. They may want to watch a few old episodes of Paula Deen and work on the Soul Food.

Nice clean atmosphere… that’s always a plus LOL! Of course, we found this spot on… Unilocal!!! It’s located south of 183 off Story Rd. in a strip mall. I don’t know why I was expecting a small café/diner style location, but when we walked in… that’s definitely not the case! This is a nice size space. We walked in and was greeted by the waitress/hostess immediately and since there wasn’t a crowd, we were able to choose our own table. She took our drink order and left us to browse the menu. She was back within a few minutes with our drinks and still allowed us a little extra time to make our food selections. After a few minutes, we FINALLY made a decision LOL! My girl ordered the shrimp fajitas & I went with old faithful… chicken quesadillas LOL! The wait wasn’t long at all for the food to come out, fajitas sizzling & quesadilla’s piping hot! We were ready to get our grub on… my girl really enjoyed the shrimp fajitas… she said they were seasoned to perfection! Although I didn’t try them, I did steal some of her onions… they were AWESOME! LOLGREATFLAVOR! The quesadillas were pretty good… my only complaint was… they needed more meat… they had tons of cheese but not a lot of meat… very disappointing!!! My girl also ordered a side of queso… which was good… just needed some type of spices to give it that«KICK»!! Overall: the food was ok… cheap prices and pretty good service! We will return because I want to try the grits!
