The Korner Store is a small convenient store, attached to a hair saloon next door. What I like about this place is it’s on my way to work and it’s nice if you need to grab something quick. It’s changed hands a few times in the past couple of years, but the store itself has been consistent. The staff are generally friendly and I’ve never had an issue. I’d really love to give the Korner Store 5 stars because I just love how cute and close it is, but I can’t for the following reasons… First of all, the parking is bad. There are only 4 — 5 spaces out front, which you cannot back into, since you are coming right off of the road and it’s hard to see up the hill. Simply not safe. Since it shares the spaces with the saloon next door, there are times there isn’t a spot and you have to either pull over on the side of the road or in front of the apartments below it. Also, they only accept cash, which isn’t a big deal for me because I try to pay for cash as much as I can. They do have an ATM though. Also, no hot beverages so don’t go in for a coffee. Again, not a problem for me because I don’t drink coffee. This is more of a small store for regulars to pick up smokes and play the lottery. They also carry water, pop, and other drinks, snacks, and some random household items like toilet paper. Another plus is everything is pretty cheap, especially when compared to other convenient stores. Cans of pop are $.50 and most snacks are $.25 — $ 1.00. Not too shabby if you are on your lunch break and need something quick.
