The Irwin Shop N Save has been around since May of last year and I find myself here once or twice a month. What I like about the store is that it is small enough that you don’t feel overwhelmed and you can find the things you want easily. They also have a small section where you can purchase alcohol, but I believe you have to pay for that separately in the area before leaving. The store is rarely busy, so I never have to wait long in line, if at all, even though there’s only a few registers. Also, they provide pump perks, like most major grocery store chains and you can some good deals if you have a rewards card.(10 for $ 10, etc.) They also have the 5 for $ 19.99 on meats, cheese, frozen waffles(my husband’s favorite), etc., which is a good deal. And they have a dollar isle and an organic section, if you’re into that kind of thing. You can also download coupons from their personal website, load them onto your card, and use them just like paper coupons. Downside of that is you still have to write down what coupons you have or have an amazing memory. Cons: Just because there’s a coupon on their website don’t expect them to actually carry that item in the store. I’ve spoken to the manager about this, but that got me nowhere. Also, produce isn’t really that great for the price. As with any store, you just have to price check and shop around for the best deals. Even with a card, many items are much more expensive than other grocery stores, like Wal-mart and Aldi. Example: English muffins are over $ 4…you can get those at a competitor for a buck. Also, staff are generally friendly and try to be helpful, except for a few young kids, and it’s apparent this is their first job. Many won’t ask for your perks card or if you have coupons, so don’t forget to hand them over. One time I asked if they accept double coupons and was told no by a young girl, only to find out they do.
