Worst bank account I’ve ever had. Never had such a bad experience. When I opened the account, I didn’t even receive a temporary account. I don’t have time to go to the bank. So it’s been a week without any access to my money since I didn’t receive checks either. Can’t wait to close my account.

The service is horrible! I moved my checking and savings accounts from Wells Fargo to avoid excessive fees, but I have been disappointed time and time again. My debit card number was used fraudulently at two stores so they cancelled my card. Unfortunately, I couldn’t file a claim until the amount was posted/​deducted from my account. Then I had to file a claim and wait 4 – 5 business days to get the money credited back to my account. It’s been a week and a half and I still haven’t received a debit card. So, I tried using a check at the market, the check didn’t work electronically. I was out a debit card and with checks that wouldn’t clear.
Their customer service in branch is lacking and the CU at the wheel representative doesn’t return phone calls and isn’t a reliable source of information. Can’t wait to close my accounts with them. The excessive fees at Wells Fargo are more tolerable than their horrible service.

I have banked here for over 12 years, and the customer service has just declined through the years. This branch has the rudest tellers out of all the ones I have been to! Every time they do something for you it’s like they have done you a favor and not realize it’s there job. The phone center is the worst. I have called to check my reward points (had problems logging in) and they aren’t helpful. Good luck ever getting a fee removed. I have threatened a few times to close this account and they just say ok, nothing like sorry can we do something to change your opinion. You would think banking 12 years, with car loans and personal loan (that are all paid off) would want your business!

Incompetent and unprofessional employees that lie to their members, I was given 3 different stories as to why my ATM wasn’t ready. I drove over an hour for nothing!

I love banking here because of the set up itself but the employees, the telephonic employees in particular, are extremely rude and demeaning. I’m an HR rep and customer service is EVERYTHING. It makes me hate having to call them and I wish I could walk in but I live too far. No one on the phone wants to help they just want to tell you what you should do next time or have a arrogant unhappy voice on the other end as if they are doing you a favor. A monthly automatic payment is made on my account but this time caused my account to overdraft but I allowed it because I had money in my savings, thinking it’ll take from there or I’ll transfer it no biggie, well it didn’t and this same day SCE decided it was going to do a courtesy payment «FOR» me and charge me $ 26 dollars, some courtesy. I spoke with a nice rep at first, whose name I can’t recall, and explained to him what was going on but I was just getting the run around with no solution to my problem, so I asked for a manager. Already frustrated with the lack of willingness and understanding because again it was not like I DIDNT have the money, cause it was clearly there in my savings. The manager ANA was no help either. She’s rude and unhelpful. I explained to her my situation after becoming quite frustrated with her initial tone of voice, so I further explained to her incompetence and after a long, VERY long, pause in between my last sentence she said very arrogantly «can I speak now? Is that okay?» Obviously I didn’t want to speak to her at all at that point so when I tried to talk to someone higher than her at first she said there wasn’t anyone higher than her, and quickly corrected herself saying a supervisor is not available till Monday. In a change of tone, She offered to have the supervisor contact me then so I gave her my number but I doubt anything will come of it. I’ve had this problem before and they never call back. I understand it’s only $ 22 dollars but the lack of notification of the «courtesy payment» and additional charge on my account when I HAVE the money in my account. This really gets to me as a college student who is struggling already. They don’t care one bit about your situation as long as they get your money regardless if it’s an unnecessary charge.

Have been with them for years. I am a former So Cal Edison employee and started with SCEFCU soon after I was employed. Just recently used «CU at the Wheel», their car buying service. Great experience. Great service. Loved it. I also use their financial services, LPL. Robert Bullock is the man…

Been with them for 20 yrs. Yeah, my credit is poor but slowly trying to repair the damage done by stupid acts from years ago. Previously applied for a $ 2,500 loan in ²⁰⁰⁹⁄₂₀₁₀ and had to have a co-signer…or no loan. Wound up with my co-​signer having to open a savings account with them (which she DID not want at all, and who will also be closing THAT account now). Paid off loan through my direct deposit, but because of co-​signer, it never showed on my credit history. I applied for an auto loan (less than 10K-​truck cost $ 11,500) and told them I would put up 3K (borrowed from my retirement) for the down payment. Gross over 2K monthly, been at my job almost 10 yrs., have direct deposit and was planning on (if approved-​HA!) car payment be pulled from same, have no huge monthly bills, my account is in good standing and has been for several years. Thinking that maybe they would finance me for these reasons, even at the 12% interest I was willing to pay. Nope. Underwriter wanted a co-​signer. I said «No, that’s not possible.» So got rejected, and that’s that. Thought financing thru my credit union would be 100% better than a «Buy Here-​Pay Here», sketchy, shady auto dealer, but SCEFCU had more or less pushed me in that direction to get a car (not that desperate yet, though). Not even willing to work with you-​what about members that have no co-​signer? It may be standard procedure, but kinda leaves a person high and dry. Basically, you’re screwed. Granted, it is not their fault I made mistakes on my credit history (currently disputing 2 incidents with Experian), but really left me with a bitter taste in my mouth. Over the years, I have asked only once to let me transfer funds over the 6x monthly limit and twice for them to waive the $ 25 overdraft fee. Guess because I’m blue-​collar, Joe-​Schmuck who makes less than $ 30,00 a year that I’m expendable in their eyes. So be it. In the process of closing my accounts and moving on to another Credit Union.
And I agree with one poster, though this regarding their new Irwindale branch (the older branch was a pleasure)-not the happiest, welcoming or friendliest bunch of tellers. Duarte branch is 100% better and the employees are fabulous!

I have been with this Credit Union for about 37 years. It has been a pleasure working with them compared to Banks because they are far more responsive and have gone out of their way to provide personal help to their customers with any issues that may arise. Today they do have somewhat tighter required industry rules to follow compared to the past, but that is true of the entire banking industry including Credit Unions since the last recession. Thank you SCEFCU for many years of excellent service.

I have had the experience from HELL since i opened my Checking Acct… and it just got worse when my wallet was stolen. There customer service hours are basically the same as there branch hours, what about those of us who have a job and don’t work near a branch office… do I have to take off of work and drive all the way to Lynwood from Santa Monica. I am so ready to close my acct

Great service. The tellers are the best!

Not my bank but I use their ATM to withdraw cash because they have the cheapest fee around $ 2.50 per transaction for non-​SCE debit cards. Extensive parking lot and the spaces are wide enough. I never venture around here at night although it seems well lighted.

I came to this bank to make a payment for my husband. I was not greeted or welcomed. The tellers all looked like it was their time of the month. No one smiled at me or even tried to acknowledge me. I felt like I was a burden while the teller was doing the transaction. She pushed the receipt toward me without asking me if that was it or here is your receipt. I was dumbfounded. If I didn’t know any better I would of though she was mute. The décor inside is beautiful but sadly it all falls apart with the awful customer service. I use to work at the bank and the number one thing you do is welcome your guest and acknowledge them. I guess this is baldwin park and that’s why they act ghetto.

KARINA! KARINA! KARINA! What a BLESSING Karina was to my husband and I! We opened up 3 accounts with her and when we left we felt like we knew her for years! She was a true GEM!
Aside from the one person at a time entry through that bullet proof glass (LMBO) this Credit Union is lovely. The receptionist was super friendly. They had Coffee and Cookies for their members who came on Saturday (We’ve visited on a Tuesday & Saturday so far), a water dispenser and comfy chairs to sit in while waiting to speak with a Financial Services Consultant.
After years with Bank of America, I finally have a taste of the good life with a Credit Union. =D

Came here to get pre-​approved for a mortgage loan. Carrie was SO helpful in the process. I am in the process of it. We just submitted the application and I’m working with them to get it done: D
