Used to be really good a few years ago. Then the chef left and the food is not good anymore. Service is still alright.

Absolutely horrendous experience. Their fire alarm went off due to their fajita style plates, proper fire evacuation measures were not followed, the Fire Marshall came and finally turned off the alarm and the management team was not even courteous as to comment on the horrible encounter. Avoid at all costs.

Come here for authentic Punjabi Paranthas. I can assure you all other restaurants who claim to be Parantha places do not compare to the home made feeling of these Paranthas. Their buffet is decent too, nothing great, but just like other similar buffet spots. Baigan bharta also is awesome. So bottom line Gobi or Aloo Parantha is the way to go.

Pathetic food! Pathetic service… All ended with a paper based bill to avoid taxes… And to add to it… They take limited number of credit cards per group… What a sad Friday experience

Worst ever food, even more pathetic service. No concept of hygiene or service standards. As if this was not enough, the restaurant owners are actually fooling customers by providing a hand written copy of check. Which you obviously would realize is to save tax money. Not even that, they added gratuity at 15% by themselves. For a bill of 46USD and that pathetic food+service, 15% addition is a bit steep. On top of that they don’t take more than 2 cards on one check. Surely never going there again.

I have been a regular here since 2013 and have never had a bad experience. I actually crave this food sometimes. My go to dish is the lamb pasanda although other dishes like the tandoori chicken and the chicken makhani are great too. I love the biryanis as well. The naan and the rotis are soft are not burnt or charred. The food is great. The service is hospitable. Its easily accessible being on route 1. Enjoy the lunch buffet on sunday for only $ 11. That is a deal no one can beat.

Worst food ever. Ordered chicken tikka, vegetable kebab and mirchi pakora… in this mirchi pakora only was average. Other two were worst n chicken tikka was almost in bad state. Please be aware of this and don’t go by the restaurant name. If you are health conscious pls stay away from here…

BEWARE: THISPLACESERVESSTALEFOOD! My wife and I went to Sonu da dhabha on 1st Jan 2015. When we started eating the food, it was very obvious that the food was STALE and tasteless. When we asked about this to the lady at the front desk, she behaved in an extremely rude manner. Being a Punjabi, I think this place was a big let down. My wife and I are never coming back to this place. We advise other folks to go for a buffet at some other place on oak tree road rather than this place.

Non veg food tasted good… but, if you are ordering a take out, make sure you check the online menu before you call, or you might hear a rough voice from the other end :) good food…

Food was below average. Chicken kebab was good and so was the garlic naan. Kadai paneer tasted like tomato paste. Undercooked tandoori roti. The chicken biryani lacked the flavor(zero salt) and the owner wasn’t willing to take it back as we had a little to taste. How would we know the quality/taste without having some? She din’t care about it. Service was good as we went in around 5.30 in the evening. Not sure how it is in the rush hour. FINALVERDICT: Do yourself a favor and go some place else. This ain’t Dhaba food

This little place was a nice surprise. A large menu full of Indian dishes is on display for guests. Each dish can be prepared in mild medium and spicy to suit your liking. They serve lamb, chicken & fish with a variety of Indian spices. I ordered chicken mango which was very good, fish curry which was tasty, A side of rice(which unfortunately doesn’t come with the meal), And A cottage cheese spinach vegetable side. All the dishes were extremely tasty. The chicken could have been slightly hotter in temperature but overall I was very happy and would come again.

Very good food here. Delicious lunch buffet, everything was fresh, spicy, meats were lean, awesome Naan bread. Affordable, only $ 10 per person.

Got takeout from here last week, and based on the quality of food, I WILL be coming back here. I ordered malai kofta, methi matar malia, and chicken tikka masala. The kofta and malia were out of this world delicious, although the malai was a little more hearty than some places we’ve had it. The naan was excellent too. The tikka masala(I only sampled a bit of the sauce), was good but not the best I’ve had. A little more curry and tomatoey than I enjoy it. The only drawback is for the price, it would’ve been nice to get a container of plain rice with it. However, the quality, and service were excellent and I will be back for the lunch buffet. PS(also $ 25 minimum on credit cards. Be prepared)

Very good lunch buffet – choice of 4 kinds of chicken, plus veg options, for $ 8.95. One oddity – one of the chicken dishes was on the bone, yet no knives were provided. Nice folks; simple surroundings; BYO.

A Dhaba is a restaurant that’s located right off the freeway in India that also doubles up as a truck stop. Given the fact that I’ve had some of the best meals at Punjabi Dhabas in India, I was pretty excited when my wife mentioned that we should try and hit up Sonu Da Dhaba this weekend with the entire family. We got here early on Saturday evening and to our surprise we weren’t the first ones for dinner. We ordered the Vegetable Kabab, Tandoori Chicken and Chicken Lollipop for appetizers along with three soups(Mulligatawny, Tomato and Sweet Corn). The soups were light and flavorful with Indian spices in the mix. The Chicken Tandoori and Chicken Lollipop had the same marinade and tasted exactly the same which was disappointing. In fact if we were to pick between the two, we’d vote for the Tandoori over the Lollipop because the latter was a little overdone and dry. The vegetable kabab had minced vegetables and tapioca pearls battered and cooked like a seekh kabab on skewers. It was an interesting take on a «veggie kabab». For the main course, we ordered two home style dishes that Punjab is synonymous for«Sarson Da Saag with Makki Di Roti» and«Punjabi Kadhi Pakodi with Rice» which were featured on the Dhaba special menu along with Palak Mushroom, Dal Makhani, Chicken Makhani and an assortment of breads. All the main course dishes were pretty tasty and had a home made touch to them. The breads were soft and had a big schmear of butter on them. But the star of the meal was definitely the Kadhi. Simple but very flavorful and high on comfort factor. HIghly recommend this dish if you plan to eat here. Overall this place serves some really good food and I guess a lot of people know it because it was packed by the time we were getting ready to leave around 7:30pm. Definitely one of the better Punjabi restaurants in the tri-state area.
