Toys R US

Worst store ever. Went on a Friday night and there was only one cashier open. Waited almost an hour on line. The manager kept calling over the intercom for other cashiers to open up but nobody ever came.

Ordered birthday gifts for a party nearby at 4:25 pm before leaving NYC. Got to Toy R Us and was directed to a kiosk to pick up the items. It was 6 pm. After checking in at a kiosk by the registry area near the rear of the store, we were directed on screen to yet another kiosk but there was nobody there. We waited for a while but then decided to just find the gifts in the store and go to the cashier. I found the items I wanted while my husband was at the second kiosk. When I went back to get him, with the toys, he said an employee had finally come by about 4 minutes prior and mentioned me by name. So we waited a while longer. The staffer did finally show up and asked me for ID to take the packages. He said he’d just pulled the order, although I got the pickup email at 5:22 pm. We ended up being late for the party since we were stuck at Toys R Us for what had to be 20 minutes when it should have been a 2 – 3 minute pick up process.
They need a better solution for paying online with pick up… or just don’t offer the service. It’s silly to have to check in at a kiosk to pick up an order and then go to a second kiosk at the back of the store. Why not just pull the orders and leave them at the front with customer service labeled by name and order number like all other stores that offer pickup? The entire point of ordering online for pickup is to save time which this definitely didn’t.

I come in here at least 3 times a month for just browsing or buying toys with my son.
The diapers are super expensive here! At least $ 5 more than the grocery store. And they seldom have coupons.
They try to keep everything cleaned up, but you know, it’s a toy store. I put everything back bit I can’t speak for others.
They have more employees here for the holidays so its cool to always have someone around.

Like the other reviewer said, I’ll give the store negative star if I could.
First of all, their staffs are not professional at all — they are working in a store for babies and kids, and they should at least cover their cough when they are sick! But no no no. The person at the checkout coughed right to my face while my baby was in front of me in his stroller!
Secondly, the layout is a mess — for example, if you want to buy formula, you may have to go to three different places to check if they carry the exact product you want.
Terrible experience there!!! I’m never going back to this particular store.

I was charged twice for two video games I purchased for my nephew. I will not come back to this store. Very disappointed and dissatisfied customer and i will tell people to avoid this store!

The customer service at this store sucks and they aren’t helpful. Even when they have what you are looking for in the back they refuse to bring it out and make every excuse in the book. Because of the location and lazy/​nasty staff it isn’t the best toys r us for a collector as the scalpers usually grab the goods before the real collectors can get to them. Growing up I shopped here all of the time but over the last year or two I shop here less and less. Unless something is a toys r us exclusive I don’t even bother, and the only reason I even go for that is because it’s the closest toys r us to me. Two stars only because of the best memories but currently they need to make some major staff changes.

I was planning to give this place 2 stars but I decided to give it the benefit if the doubt and give it 3 stars since I did come here the weekend before Christmas. This place was so chaotic. It’s hard to find certain toys in here because the aisles are not labeled, like Barbie aisle, Legos, etc… Plus when I needed to ask a sales associate they were nowhere to be found. When I finally found the products I was looking for the shelves where so unorganized I had no idea what the prices were. Thank goodness there were barcode scanners at the end of the aisles or I would have been really irritated. This place needs to be more organized

If I could give this store negative stars I would. Do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY! I used their baby registry and received too many items in the same size. I went to the store to exchange the items and was told it would be better if I returned the items. I was given a store credit and then discovered they only credited me HALF of what the items were selling on their floor. I immediately returned to the exchange desk and of course a different person was there. She fixed two of the items but not without giving me a hard time. As soon as I spend the money on my gift card I WILL NOT BE returning to this store EVER for the life of my child. There are way too many better places to shop that don’t rip you off! Oh and when I wrote them an email with my concerns they just said ‘thank you, I will notify the correct department”. Great customer service «R» family!

No one picks up the phone in this store. The advertised number ((732) 283‑0201) doesn’t work and the number on my order, (732)636−2723 just keeps on ringing. This is not great customer experience. I have been trying to reach them for last 30 minutes.

This Toys R Us is a lot better than it used to be. I remember it used to be quite the disorganized mess, and really ugly/​drab. Since the remodel and expansion, it’s become quite nice — the environment’s very pleasant to shop in and the store is very nicely organized and easy to navigate. Unfortunately, I’m still not all that impressed with the customer service at this store. Every time I go in to buy something specific for my kids I am told it is in stock and. well, it never is. The shelves always seem to be a wreck, too. It’s really the only toy store in the area now so it’s kind of your only option but it’s not at all consistent. Still, it’s gotten better. I’ll give them that.

As an avid toy collector, I wind up going to Toys R Us stores quite a bit. Despite being a chain, just because you’ve gone to one Toys R Us, it doesn’t mean you know what they’re all like. Each store has a distinct personality and level of service and product.
I’ve been going to this particular store for years. However, for the past three months I’ve been going to the Toys R Us closer to me in Elizabeth instead. When i stopped by this store the other day, I noticed something different immediately. The exterior has been refaced with a Toys R Us and Babies R Us sign showing proudly.
Inside, everything has been renovated. Gone is the old and confusing «angular» layout of the aisles. The store has returned to a more ordering grid of aisles, with each having sections clearly marked at the ends. The only areas that are not like this are the video games and the section with bikes and other vehicles for kids. The store has also had some painting done and the cashier stands have been laid out in a nicer way with warm, inviting looking wood panels on the sides.
I am happy to say that I was able to find everything I was looking for that day. Even better? The staff from the sales people to the cashiers were super friendly. I was told the renovation would not be completely done until next month, so I plan on heading back soon to check it out!

Do not normally like places with millions of childrens complaining about not getting whatever Bieber-​themed toy they want. But I needed some zany presents for a gift exchange, and there are basically no good toy stores in Menlo Park mall or Woodbridge mall.
Pretty uncontroversial, this Toys R We (grammar!). EXCEPT: this one clerk was funny. She was re-​arranging the talking/​whining baby toy section and was saying things like «I know, baby, I know, shut up» when I interrupted to inquire about silly string.
Rapture! They had it. She even walked me over to it. On the way she said, «I don’t even wanna know what you’re going to do with it, but here it is. Party section honey.» This is my lady right here!
