This is a great grocery store. You can’t find 24 hour grocery stores in Miami let alone the keys. Good section and quality produce. People are complaining about prices but its a matter of supply and demand. If you want to drive 20 miles to Publix to save money you will spend it in gas. Sometimes you have to pay more for convenience.

Nice find. Good selection of produce, deli items and small hot food bar. Prices a tad higher than a big box store, but the convenience and diversity of offerings was a nice surprise. Pretty good choices of wines too. Open 24 hours!

This place is great. Small grocery but jam packed with alot. I come to the keys sometimes. And when i do come and it’s early in the morning i come in for breakfast. The reason, homemade bacon egg and cheese biscuits from this place! Gotta try it. They have alot of other stuff too.

There isn’t much by way of grocery stores on Islamorada, so options are quite limited. In search of fresh produce, we hit the Trading Post. While there, we grabbed a few other items/staples for the rental house. — Tiny little place; crowded entry/exit — Beer prices are *insane* — a 6-pack of Sierra Nevada Pale Ale was $ 11.99 + Produce was decent; dig through to find best items — 2 cashiers — Everything gets put in a plastic bag, no matter what, to «prevent breakage» I’d recommend driving a bit further to places like Winn Dixie or Publix if you can.

My husband knows that a quick stop to Trading Post is mandatory, regardless of our destination. I’ve seen the reviews posted regarding price but you get what you pay for and the Trading Post is foodie heaven. You can’t throw a stick without hitting a key lime pie in the Keys… with everyone boasting that theirs is the best. Key lime pie is great… but the Trading Post Key Lime Bundt Cake is THE best cake EVER! Moist and dense, full of key lime and smothered in key lime glaze, this is one of the best cakes I’ve ever had(and I’m a baker by trade)! My husband has already inhaled half a cake(and we haven’t even been here a day) and we’ll definitely be making a pit stop on our way home for another one. If you try anything in the Keys, do not miss out on one of these babies(if my husband hasn’t eaten them all by the time we leave), Staff is friendly and helpful — even for the crazy lady who is grabbing a plastic fork and diving into the cake before they can even give her the change.

This store is convenient, but very overpriced. Everything is marked up beyond normal Keys high prices.

Stopped in to get some meat, cheese, & crackers for our fishing trip the next day. All the staff was very friendly. It’s not as cheap as your Publix store but it’s not meant to be, it’s a specialty store with higher quality items. Also snagged a cheapie ice chest for a few bucks.

Nice market with all the provisions needed when on vacation. It was across the street from our expensive hotel so it was nice to save a buck within walking distance. The butcher guy was friendly and helpful. Pre-made sandwiches or made to order. Beer and wine, too. Fried chicken, mac and cheese. It was clean and reasonable priced for the keys.

In Islamorada even CVS closes at 10:00PM so we were really happy to find out that the Trading Post is open 24 hours a day. The prices are very high for certain items, so you’re better off buying them at Winn Dixie, but the prepared food are reasonable and very good. We had potato salad, pasta salad and grape leaves and everything tasted home made. Nice selection of cheese and mustards and crackers, friendly employees. It’s nice to shop in a family run store, every now and then.

Ma & Pa type grocery store… offering most of those necessities and then some, but be forewarned, they are not known for cheap prices. Thinking of the prices makes me reminisce of back when I used to stop here quit often on my travels between Key West and the main land. You see, the prices were not much of a concern to me back in the day, not because I was bathing in cash but because their prices were fair and competitive to other stores(maybe a little costlier but not excessively so). I used to grab their prepared wraps, which were average size but then over time the prices creeped up to $ 6.99 but managed to get unimpressively smaller. Recently I was excited when I jumped in and was happy to see the cost came back to earth at $ 4.59… but then I gasped because I realized it’s now *half* of a small wrap. I’m no mathematician but pretty sure that’s more than $ 9 for a teeny tiny wrap. On my last visit, I was kinda grossed out… cashier was picking and nibbling her nails. Look, I know lot’s of people do it(I used to do it) but not in front of customers. After all, you’re touching everyone’s groceries. On a positive side, they do have a great meat counter(butcher), fresh fruits/veggies and plenty of gourmet specialty items. Nowadays, I only stop in to grab a drink and a banana or apple; Although I’ll reconsider the apple to avoid nail particles and saliva contamination.

This is a gem in the Upper Keys! Fantastic steaks and other meats, cut for real grilling instead of the wafer thin stuff you see in most markets. Plenty of sauces, dairy, fresh vegetables, enough to make gourmet meals if you’re staying in a place with a kitchen. Expect to pay double on most high ticket items but the quality and convenience are worth the price. Photos of some steaks we bought included.

Nice people BUT… expensive. I don’t mind paying a little bit more but if I’m going to then please make sure your products are all in date. We were in the keys for July 4 and we had to make a quick trip up to The Trading Post to get some ice cream. When we got back I froze the ice cream got it out a couple hours later felt it was still kind of spongy so I checked the date. It had expired a year and a half ago. EXPIRATION11/18/2011!!! Now I understand that when you’re checking dates all grocery stores make a mistake here and there but to have a product that was almost 2 years out of date??? Really??? Be aware… check your dates!
