Great Breakfast anytime. That said, when is anytime? It’s posted that they are open six days a week. Which six? Not the day you decide to go

Just moved to the long beach area and went looking for good breakfast, had been trying different diners on different occasions, found this place on Unilocal — so glad that I did. Not only is the food amazing, I felt welcomed and cared for. They definitely got themselves a new regular!

I love Demi’s, everything about it, especially the sign that says«yes we have gluten free pancakes, they are called eggs.» No one charges you if you bring your own maple syrup, they will tell you, we don’t carry it, you are welcome to bring your own. The pancakes are perfect, always perfect. Some days the place is crazy busy, but it is always worth the wait. Cash only, but there is an ATM outside. Best breakfast place on Long Island with a decidedly chill and unpretentious attitude.

My single favorite breakfast place in Nassau. Demi’s is packed with an unparalleled old-fashioned, laid back charm. If you pay close attention to the interactions between your waitress at the counter and Rich, the cook, you’ll hear hilarious bickering and fighting. The last time I visited, she quietly recommended blueberry waffles, put the order in, only to hear Rich complaining — «who on earth is pushing these blueberry waffles?!» The waitress, of course, said she didn’t know. The waffles were to die for. The eggs are amazing, the décor filled with laughs, and the overall ambience welcoming. Totally affordable, cash only! A must!

I didn’t think it was possible to screw up breakfast but Demi’s figured out a way to ruin my morning. Cold home fries, a cheese omelette that didn’t resemble an omelette I’ve ever had elsewhere and cheese that was hard to find. Lastly even the toast was burnt. Sorry Demi’s…three strikes your out and this is my third and last time visiting.

Wasn’t all that impressed. Service rather slow. Although they staff was nice and friendly. Food nothing to get excited about. Okay for quick eat but quality is lacking.

This place is a family favorite for us each time we head to Long Beach for a walk on the boardwalk. It’s a small, classic diner serving mainly breakfast foods in any variety you can imagine: eggs, toast, potatoes, oatmeal, etc. Good, bottomless coffee and kind service. Cute diner atmosphere. And, you could not find more bang for your early morning breakfast buck. Feels great to support a local business.

I really enjoyed this place the first time I came here but I think my hunger just had me delusional. The only good thing about Demi’s is the prices. That being said, unfortunately you get what you pay for. To start, the waitress was very rude each time I’ve been here. The food is mediocre, nothing special or that you can’t make better yourself. Although the menu is extensive, everything is very bland and basic. The pancakes are made with your average Gold Medal pancake batter — I know because they had the boxes laying around. The breakfast sandwiches are 80% bread and you can hardly taste the bacon, eggs and cheese — or whatever you choose to put on your roll. It’s a extremely tiny place and it seems that the space can’t comfortably hold the amount of patrons that come in. It’s kind of gross actually, especially when you’re trying to eat and there are people breathing, coughing and eating so close to you. Maybe that’s just me, but I don’t feel like this is a very clean restaurant. Oh, and it’s cash only. So, if this review didn’t steer you away, come prepared.

My husband and I stumbled upon Demi’s one morning while headed out to a diner for breakfast. What a great find! The place is quite small, and you may have to wait a bit for a table, but you won’t mind as you watch this small restaurant buzz around you. The food is good and the prices are amazing! I love that they don’t charge extra for egg whites AND they have a veggie sausage pattie on their menu! It seems that this restaurant is run by one woman and one server, as well as two cooks. Small crew for such a busy place, so be patient if your coffee refill takes some time. If you haven’t tried Demi’s yet, give it a try… You won’t be disappointed!

What a nice, small, quaint«old fashion» diner. It could get a little crowded but be patient. We waited a few minutes but the coffee was really good & the banana walnut pancakes were phenomenal! Though the waitstaff wasn’t super attentive, that’s ok with me because after all you go out to eat for the drink/food and to be with the one your with anyway. Enjoy folks!

Whenever I’m in town visiting my boyfriend, this is our favorite weekend breakfast spot. They have all your breakfast basics and from what I’ve seen, a pretty extensive pancake selection. Cash only, small seating area, but good home cooking!

Love this coffee shop! The blueberry pancakes are outrageous. Sausage patties are delish. Great prices, friendly staff and quick food.

No one in Demi’s seemed prepared to handle the large Sunday morning crowd. Waited an hour for food that was average at best. Staff seemed friendly enough, though. One could have easily dealt with the food, as it was not terrible, but the cleanliness in Demi’s seemed nonexistent. We sat by the window and noticed dead bugs scattered all across the windowsill. Makes you wonder about the cleanliness in other areas of the restaurant. On the plus side, prices are incredibly cheap. I believe we paid around $ 15 or so for both our meals. Too bad prices alone cannot take the place of an enjoyable meal or a clean establishment. Probably will not return.

We waited for an hour for our food on a Sunday morning. This place would warrant a better rating if they had a larger staff. They seemed very unprepared for the breakfast crowd. The restaurant itself was kind of dirty and there were dead bugs lining the windowsill next to where we sat. The menu seemed promising but, unfortunately, my meal wasn’t very good. I got an egg white omelette with cheese, tomato and turkey but it was dark meat leftover turkey. My toast arrived burnt, the waitress acknowledged this immediately, but at this point after waiting so long for our food, I didn’t bother to send it back. The omelette itself wasn’t really an omelette at all, more like a large egg patty with ingredients tucked inside like a sandwich. Overall, my experience here was very disappointing and I wouldn’t return.

Demis… Screams local and I sort of like it that way. The place is tiny, has a very informal and inviting vibe to it. Food is solid, coffee is good and atmosphere is simple and quirky straight up coffee shop. Good spot for breakfast or some coffee shop lunch.

I loved this place. Cheap food. Good coffee. Great service. Fun décor… well weird décor that makes it fun. Good omelets. The type of place that I could go to every morning.

We love Demis! Found this gem of a spot about 5 years ago on my way to the beach, and my boyfriend and I return every weekend now for breakfast since. It’s a 20 minute drive for us, but well worth it. The food is always awesome — everything tastes better when a place is family owned and run. They make sure to get it right, and they always do. The owner is also the cook. His wife is the waitress. They’re so friendly and never forget names and orders after you’ve been there more than once. The prices are the very cheapest for diners that I’ve yet to find. You can leave there with two full bellies for well under $ 20. Go check them out! Support your local diners like Demis. Don’t let the gigantic greek diner chains take over. This is what comfort food is all about, and these places are few and far these days. A dying breed.
