We seem to always stop at Luke ‘n Ollie’s whenever we are visiting Isle of Palms. It offers your standard casual American food. It is a little heave on the fried-food side of things. Tonight our group of five stopped in and ate outside on the patio. This is a nice option. We got an order of chicken tenders for an appetizer. They are not homemade – frozen and fried. Served with BBQ sauce and ketchup. They were served piping hot and they did the job tonight. We were all hungry. I ordered the garden salad with grilled chicken. The salads are served in a bread bowl, which is a nice touch. I wish the bread had been warm but it’s okay. The balsamic vinaigrette is not your typical balsamic vinaigrette – more like a ranch dressing with a little balsamic to color it. The chicken had a slightly off taste to it – like it had been in the freezer too long before it was thawed out and cooked. Two of my friends ordered pizzas and were happy with them. Another friend ate a wrap and loved it. My boyfriend ordered a steak and cheese sandwich and devoured it. So I would say it was a good stop for dinner. This place is definitely family friendly – I would say more than 70% of the people on the patio were kids. So if you don’t like the little munchkins, then I would not go there.

Wonderful! Family oriented. Great food and good gluten free options. Perfect stop after the beach. We loved our experience :)

Promised 30 – 45 min order ready. Got here claimed 45 – 60. Now 90 min. No explanation. Offered a free drink. Not enough. Seem to be struggling. Need to fix! Go somewhere else, but not here.

Not very good would rather order from a local business instead of Pizza Hut or dominoes but these guys aren’t even trying. Wings are just covered in Tabasco.

Go elsewhere. awful bowling alley style pizza. not dog friendly unlike so many places. Keep driving and go to Sullivan’s Island. Owner/manager very rude. Don’t waste your time!

Look for Other Options! …it’s not much better than Bowling Alley Pizza Drove past here today and it looked like a great little local pizza place with nice patio to enjoy the weather and a pizza and a beer… so we stopped to have lunch. We asked the hostess to sit on deck since we had our dog with us. We were told by the gentleman(presumably owner or manager based upon other conversations I saw him having with employees) that due to health Dept regulations and«Scoring» they did not allow dogs inside or on patio. This was a bit puzzling since so many places in Charleston, Sullivan’s Island, and many others allow dogs on the patio or outdoor areas if they are leashed which my dog was. In addition, when I asked about how others do it he commented that the others must not care about their health department ratings! Well I can tell you from being In the restaurant business for over 20 years, the health department would have a field day in this greasy spoon. So, let’s go with that reasoning if true I get it, BUT not 10 min later as we were waiting for our«Take Out» order another couple came up with a smaller dog and the same people told the customer they could bring him onto the patio since he would probably not be seen. Are you kidding me? So it is not even about the dog but the integrity of the staff or owner/manager. This must be the same person mentioned in other posts. So we did get pizza to go. They must stay in business because they are only pizza place in the downtown IOP because the pizza was one step above rewarmed bowling alley pizza. I know the business. Seriously, the grease and cheap beer probably keeps the summer crowd coming and I get that but what a shame. Other food establishments seem to be thriving with a pet friendly policy and their food is awesome. this is one of the few places I have been in Mt P or Chuck Town that the food was less than average. Order Dominos you will be happier!

The owner is very rude, I feel sorry for the people that work for him. DONOT go in with a Groupon. I am not even sure why the owner participates in Groupon. My family and I had a Groupon and met another party there and they had a Groupon as well. The owner wouldn’t allow both of us to use our Groupons at the same time because we were sitting at the same table. He informed us, after bringing out his enlarged printed copy of his Groupon rules, that we could both use our Groupons if we had sat at different tables. The Groupon offer is how we found out about his restaurant and he lost our business. We never walk out of a restaurant but we did that night. We will never be back, just based on principle. I don’t like writing bad reviews but I just want to warn people before going in with a Groupon. We were so excited to try out a local pizza place, it was such a disappointment.

Totally into this local non chain place. Having pizza on December in a beach town! Busy on a Sunday nite ! Good crust, great sauce ! We were waited on by the owner ! We had the Luke pizza without green peppers ! Son had the massive cheese steak ! About $ 44 !

The pizza is just«ok» here. I believe it’s the only pizza served on the IOP. If you are hungry for good pizza this is not the place to go. If you are in a pinch and need to fill the void., it will work. I don’t have much to say other than all the ingredients are cheap, you can tell/taste as soon as you take a bite. I don’t think I will be back. Plenty of other good places to eat on the island.

Good service. There are not a lot of options to eat at at 3pm in the area. Most do not serve dinner till 5pm. Went with the hamburger. Burger was on the large size. Burger was tasty but bizarrely on the moist and spongy side if that is possible. Fries were a little on the dry side but not bad. My wife had a caprice salad and loved it. Tomatoes were fried and tasty. Service was good and friendly. Price was reasonable for a beach area. Great price on beers.

I guess you can say it’s the best on the island, because there’s no competition. But I give it two stars. For reference, I give frozen pizza one star. If you’re in the Isle of Palms /Sullivans Is. area I recommend you just forgo pizza and hit one of the many other excellent restaurants.

After reading some of the reviews regarding the restaurants lack of customer service, I’m happy to report that I did not find it to be the case during my families visit. We were greeted upon arrival and immediately sat. My 14 mo old son’s order(kid’s pasta) came out as soon as it was done, which is so appreciated! Three of us shared a pizza which was tasty and my husband had a cheeseburger. The service was fast and attentive. A great stop since it was right across the street from our hotel.

Take back everything I said below…:OWNERISANASS. Believe the reviews you read that said he lacks tact! He was most definitely not there the day I wrote the review below. I feel sorry for the people who work for him! FROM A LOCAL… first off I don’t know how this place has any bad reviews for service or an unfriendly owner… I don’t get it? Unless of course you’re from a place that is naturally rude…(hey I get it, I grew up in NY… thank God I live in the South now and consider it home and would even lie and say I’m a native ;) any who… First off… Awesome pizza, great crust, perfect sauce and full of toppings. Secondly, you can not beat a $ 2.50 domestic or a $ 3.00 import! Pizza on the patio with and ice cold Blue Moon or Samuel Adam for $ 2.50??? CRAZY! Our Server(C.C.) — An amazing girl who was witty, with an awesome smile is the best, but I’ve never had a problem with anyone being rude or unwelcoming… If you’re going to visit the South… why don’t you try out a little Southern charm while you’re here, it works. This means smile at everyone, say please & thank you and if you ask nicely they will do just about anything for you… just sayin!

Won’t be back. The owner lacks tact in handling situations. If you make a child feel unwelcome in your restaurant, decent parents will choose not to spend their money with you.

I am totally disgusted with the treatment of service of this place my 76-year-old mother came in there today to have pizza she was with a service dog I don’t know if it was the owner or just the staff but they were very rude did not want the dog in the establishment made a scene and asked my mother to sit in the corner away from other patrons personally if I was there the outcome would’ve been much different I would not recommend this non-service oriented place to anyone by the way the service dog is 6 pounds and hypoallergenic. Being that I own my own company I am very sensitive to the needs of my customers as they are the ones that pay my bills.

Had 1 large Luke pizza and 1 large cheese. Cooked great and came hot. Good taste. Good service, full bar, no draft beer, cans and bottles. Free wi-fi, place is small. Could have eaten outside, to many bugs. SC right? NO free parking. Not their fault, IOP Money Grabbers. Will go again.

I hate to give such bad reviews, but it is hard to even give one star. From the moment we walked in it was bad. The servers were not welcoming at all and made us feel very uncomfortable. We were sat and ordered drinks. We finally decided on appetizers and pizza. The appetizers took forever to come out and when they did the queso sticks we ordered opened while being fried, so they had to make a new batch. They have us the broken ones in the meantime. After our appetizers were dropped off we noticed we didn’t have plates. The server was no where to be found so we started eating. When she did come back we asked for plates and she said they were right behind us like we should have known. Can’t know something if were not told of it! Finally our pizza came. I was so excited, who doesn’t love pizza?! Well, me. That night. It was truly the worst I’ve ever had. It didn’t taste like it was thoroughly cooked and the meat, sauce, and cheese all just tasted bad. I had one slice and couldn’t eat anymore. Even though this is a convenient stop on IOP, spend your money and time elsewhere.

On the plus side, the pizza was delivered quickly, ie 20 minutes, and with a smile. Pleasant on the phone. Freshly chopped & sliced veggies. Good, thin pepperoni that did not have pools of grease(my family likes pepperoni, I give them my slices, unless they’re thin & crispable like these). On the other hand, we asked for thin & crispy. It was neither. Thick & doughy in parts, thin & undercooked in other parts. We ordered the hypocrite with sausage. If this were served in NYC, a patron would likely go postal. It reminded me of Slice Between, which had been incredible as Old World Pizza, but now has super fast delivery of undercooked pies. With a smile. Freshly chopped & sliced veggies. Good, thin pepperoni that did not have pools of grease. I even tried the broiler. Cayenne pepper. Kalamata olive oil. I do not have a cast iron pan here to crisp the bottom(heat pan, sear cold pizza, drizzle some olive oil on top, cover to re melt – a trick that has saved many a pizza from the tragedy that is a microwaved slice), but I am not certain even that could have saved it. Jim did not mind the pizza. The dog refused to clean the plates. I know we have eaten there twice before – at least once before kids, once as a pick up. I do not recall the pizza being this bad – was I simply delirious from the oppressive heat? Somehow underfed in the land of BBQ, Gullah, & fresh seafood during holiday season? Dumbfounded. Seriously.

It was OK. Service was very good. Very little indoor seating but a fair amount of outdoor seating, most of it shaded. Typical pizza place menu — the food was OK, nothing great. Pricing was about right for IOP near the beach. I thought portions were small though — the Stromboli looked like a weakling compared to what I’m used to — even compared with an airport Sbarro’s for example. If no other choices, I’d do it again, but would not seek it out.
