Newly renovated late 2015… greens buldozed and re-done, greatly enlarged and added bunkers. Incredible greens with more slope and great speed. I have played this course 50+ times the past 25 years and it is the best it has ever been. Cost is high but pick afternoon times to avoid crowds.

Don’t waste your money on this place. This was to be our expensive vacation golf. We looked at the flyover on their website for the last three holes along the ocean and thought this would be an awesome experience on our anniversary. Instead we got weird staff, a $ 4 jimmy dean microwave breakfast sandwich, impossible to find tee boxes and a golf course in worse shape than a lot of munis I’ve played. We didn’t quit after 9 holes because we wanted to experience the finishing holes. But the fabulous 18th hole along the ocean is now a par 3 — the fairway and green are being reclaimed by the ocean. Would have been nice if someone had mentioned that when we booked the tee time. My husband played the back tees and several time we could not even locate them as they were tucked into adjacent fairways or just couldn’t be found. Save your money and go play Stono Ferry instead. That is a beautiful course at a third the price.

Decent course greens aren’t my favorite. Way overpriced definitely a course for rich Yankees who don’t know how to play. $$$$$ they have cart guys that kind of are in your face just to get a tip kind of annoying. Most places I go to they will ask if they can get your bag these guys will just pull it out of you vehicle without asking. The guy on the phone and worked the morning shift was nice the second guy not so much. the gentlemen on the course where nice and helpful.

Course looked great… We didn’t get to play due to rain. I argued with the Assistant Golf Pro about the time that was displayed on their website for couples twilight to reschedule a tee time. I said it was 3:00 on the website, he said it was 4:00 and that it was marketings problem not his that they put 3:00. Great hospitality!!!

Way overrated for the $$$. A number of challenging holes especially on the back nine. There is some beautiful scenery and seeing an alligator in the pond on the first hole made me feel a little better about the cash I put up to play this course. I love how they post signs telling you not to disturb the alligators. I guess too many trips to the beer cart can make you do some odd things. Not a good golf course for small children… gators

Three of us took a group golf lesson with Jeff and he was awesome! Each of us had different experience and skillset levels(I am a beginner) and we each left learning something new. Jeff made us feel comfortable, clearly knew golf, encouraging(and didn’t have an ego). We all really enjoyed it and highly recommend lessons with him!

Wish I had read the other reviews before playing here today. Would have avoided disappointment. Yes, there are a couple of above-average holes, but it’s certainly not worth the $$. If you really want very nice golf, go to Kiawah Island and play Cougar or Oak Point. But Wild Dunes is no better than Wild Dunes or Patriots Point, yet they persist in seeking Kiawah-level greens fees. Skip

The course itself is beautiful and challenging with some great water views. However, the price is twice as expensive as the other Wild Dunes course, the Harbor Course and it simply isn’t that much nicer. I guess you are paying for the finishing holes, 17 and 18, that play along the ocean? As other reviewers have mentioned, they also just don’t seem to be very customer focused. When you pay top dollar you expect exceptional service and that hasn’t been my experience at this course. Hence the 2 Star rating.

We made 3 tee times for last FRIDAY morning with a total of 12 golfers. The price was quoted on the phone was $ 98.00 per player. When we arrived, the very rude gentleman in the pro shop charged us $ 118.00 per player and wouldn’t honor the previous quote and told us «not his problem and he didn’t make that promise.» Apparently Friday at 7:30am is a «weekend» rate according to this guy. The half-way house was closed all morning and the beverage cart girl showed up on hole #11& #18& would not accept credit cards. The course was in pretty good shape but one of the worst golfing experiences I’ve had in a long time. It’s a shame that this staple resort of Charleston would want to make such an awful impression to 12 locals trying to go have a nice round. PASS

Very dissatisfied. I paid 150 dollars to wait on every hole, there was no beverage cart service, and no one to clean my clubs at the end of the round. playing the course was more difficult than it should have been, thanks to rude course maintenance staff who did not move out of the way when I played near them. When I shared my disappointment with the staff at the pro shop, they offered me a metal bag tag. Ridiculous. After hearing such good things about Wild Dunes, I am furious that I wasted my money playing there.
