This place is awesome! If you’re looking for a comfortable place to go hang out, hang your hat, sit with friends, grab a cold one, or watch a football game this is the place to be! Unfortunately this is a Kansas City Chiefs place, and you have to be a Kansas City Chiefs fan to truly appreciate a football Sunday with them,(which I can totally understand being a barbecue establishment,) but I am a Seahawks fan and was welcomed anyway! We found our place at the end of the bar and started to settle in! I ordered a bloody Mary with pepper vodka and decided to slurp that down pretty quickly! When our food arrived I was amazed we ordered a plate which I thought would fill one persons stomach, could probably fill two grown men’s appetites. I would totally suggest sharing. I would also suggest getting a sampler of all three of the barbecue flavors I think there’s a sweet, a spicy and traditional. The food was delicious, the people were fun to be around, I would suggest coming here for BBq and a laugh!

Helped a friend use his Groupon, and neither of us were ecstatic, but we weren’t disappointed. The ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender. The sausage had nice flavor, and the pulled pork and brisket were fine. This place needs some corn bread. I’ll go back with my Groupon and again be satisfied. Went back a couple of weeks later to use my Groupon, and was more impressed. The portions seemed much bigger(or maybe I went with lighter eaters). Anyway, we had so much food. The ribs really are tender. The sausage has a nice little kick. Even the cole slaw has some pleasant heat. I upped my review from 3 to 4 stars with another look.

You know when something is so dry that you can feel it suck the saliva out of your mouth? That’s how the brisket is at Stan’s. :( Excited over the possibility of good Kansas City BBQ in Issy, I stepped up to the front door. I saw the menu posted outside, which is usually a «we’re expensive» warning – and it sadly was. My eyeballs were hurting at the sight of the $ 25+ price tag on most combos. I settled on a half pound of brisket with one side. For $ 15, I got: * half a pound of the worst, dryest, blandest brisket, * a side of «creamed» corn, * a tiny container of mediocre BBQ sauce, and * no bread. The brisket was the worst I’ve ever had – no exaggeration. It was so dry that not even the BBQ sauce could save it, and I had to keep taking sips of water because the meat would cling to my esophagus. The«creamed» corn consisted of tough corn kernels swimming in a nearly water-thin white sauce. You’re supposed to be able to eat creamed corn with a fork, but this was so close to soup that they actually served it to me with a spoon. I don’t know if bread was extra or not, because the waitress never offered me any. For $ 15, they could’ve surely spared a slice or two. I really, really wanted to like this place. The atmosphere is great, they have Shiner on tap, and service was good. However, the prices are a joke and even Dickey’s has better food.

Service is painfully slow. Servers were preoccupied with figuring out who should bus the dirty tables instead of seating guests at the several available and clean tables. Then ordering took a long time, and when the food arrived the order was incomplete. Last, a pint of beer is over six bucks with tax. No thanks.

Love having lunch there. First one of the few place to have Mac & Jack IPA on draft. Second great smoked meats: pork, ham, turkey You can also buy to take it home If you are a Kansas City, any team, fan, that is your place

Stan’s is where good food, good people, and the perfect atmosphere all come together. The experience– You walk in, someone cheerfully yells for you to find a seat– usually easy, sometimes you have to wait a bit. Anyways, slide into a booth, get your drink order taken right away and start drooling over the menu. There are no bad choices here. Seriously. Ever. Get your food, stop talking to your companion while you watch football on any of their conveniently placed tvs. Finish off your plate, and just enjoy the feeling of a full stomach. The food: Just come in and eat it. The ribs fall off the bone, the pulled pork is never dry, and the meatballs were sent from the heavens above. Long story short– I met my husband’s parents here for the first time. We’ve done Valentine’s Day dinner here. Our parents met here for the first time the night before our wedding. We come here at least twice a month because it’s that good. It’s not fancy, but it’s everything you need with bbq.

I’d give this place a solid 3.5 stars. The BBQ itself is excellent. Brisket and pulled pork were smoked to perfection and their hot sauce had a nice kick to it. ½lb is plenty if you’re hungry! It is slightly expensive however and I wasn’t a fan of the side dishes. The potato salad was average at best and tasted like the generic kind you get from the grocery store. The cole slaw lacked a bit of dressing or flavoring all together. Was hard to justify the near $ 50 price tag for 2 meals and 2 beers but it was still quite tasty none the less. Also had a little left over to take home! The staff was friendly and they had football playing at the bar. Can’t complain with that!

Had the«Who’s your daddy» combo that came with ribs, pulled pork, links, and brisket plus sides. The links were nice and spicy which genuinely surprised me since most«hot links» aren’t spicy at all. I’m personally not a big fan of added sauce to my BBQ(which I know is a big part of «Kansas Style») but the pork and ribs really needed some sauce to add an extra bit of flavor – although they were nice and tender/moist. The best part was the brisket. Although it wasn’t presented in nice clean slices like you would see on the cooking channels, the flavors were good and meat super tender. Overall the service was friendly and fast, even if it’s not THE best bbq I’ve had, I would definitely come back.

I love this place so much. I’ve been coming here since high school and it never disappoints. The portions are massive, but not only that, it tastes GOOD. BBQ here is usually sticky, tiny portioned, and tastes like its pre-frozen, but Stans is the real thing. Ok so I haven’t actually been to the South but I assume it tastes like the real thing. We usually get the large combo platters since our group usually consists of at least four people. Their chicken is super juicy and well seasoned, and even the turkey is flavorful. But the real deal is the big platter that comes with ribs, sausage, brisket, pulled pork, and creamed corn. The sausage is spicy and tasty, and the brisket and pulled pork are always the right amount of fat to lean. The sauces are vinegar based and are excellent on their own right, and doesn’t mask the meat. Special mention to the creamed corn though. It’s a mix of cream, cayenne, and super fresh corn. They might use frozen or canned corn but it tastes like it was fresh shucked.

Was in town 8÷23÷15 around 4pm for that time of the day, when I looked at places to eat in downtown Issaquah originally my plan was to eat at max’a world café. But disappointed when I found out that it’s closed on Sunday’s now. Good thing my appetite turned into BBq and the closest one is stan’s parking is good the track of the restaurant with access door soon as I walked in I can smell that smoked flavor. The manager and the servers made this warm greeting and made me feel comfortable to seat anywhere I want. I ordered one of the biggest entrée which is who’s your daddy. Soon as I got the food I was very impressed with the amount they serve its awesome! I like big serving! I start up with the ribs very smokey flavor and very tasty it was awesome, the pork was great! Brisket oh yeah! Almost perfect! Links are good too! I give this place a 4 star! If I will find something for cons it’s gotta be the temperature of the food, it came quick when I ordered but I would expect more warmer than it. But overall, awesome bbq!

Food quantity was awesome but quality suspect. Ordered«Who’s your daddy» … ribs were dry, brisket was tender but tasteless, hot link was hawt, and a half dozen smoked chicken wings that weren’t very smoked. Service was slow — had to go to counter or flag down server for correct sauce, water, and just gave up on correcting bread request or box to go. Waste of calories, won’t be returning.

With all the Kansas City paraphernalia I was expecting some good BBQ from the place that knows how it’s done, KC. Unfortunately, BBQ was super dry and just taste like burnt pork jerky. Brisket was the only edible thing. The wings were the worst. Burnt all around. Sides were super small too. If you want BBQ in the Eastside, keep searching

After reading the reviews, we thought we’d risk it. BADIDEA. This is quite possibly the WORST food I’ve ever eaten. The ribs were almost bearable with a ton of bbq sauce, but my wife and son has the chicken which at first I said«eat it, it’s got to be good,» but I put it in my mouth to show it was good and immediately spit it out. Even my beer tasted weird(I got a Mack & Jack’s African Amber and it has a taste as if the lines for the tap hadn’t been cleaned. McDonald’s McRib is better tasting and probably better for you than this garbage. I honestly would be afraid of what I’d see if this show was ever on Kitchen Nightmares.

Come hungry, because there’s a lot to eat and if you’re hungry, it’ll really taste good. We ordered the big platter that included the links, pulled pork, ribs, and brisket. It must’ve been a little busy because the lady mixed our sides, forgot our sauces, and another lady brought out the same order to us again. But, everything was corrected quickly. In my opinion, everything needed some sauce. I was not able to eat any of it alone because it was either way too dry for me or too subtle in taste. My favorite were the ribs, though. Dunked in the sweet or hot sauce and you’ve got a wet, meaty deliciousness. The pulled pork was great with the sauce sandwiched by a slice of bread. The links were extremely dry. Almost like eating an overcooked bear sausage link. The brisket was dry. Even with a slather of sauce, the dryness really seeped through. Oh, and the hot sauce is not hot at all. A tiny kick and you’re left wondering when the next karate move will come next. Anyhow, not the most impressive. But, still good for a hungry, hungry hippo.

My mother and I decided to try this place out. It smells delicious inside(like smoked BBQ). Service was very quick and friendly. After we ordered the food it came out not long than 5 mins! I ordered the brisket sandwich which was pretty good. I wasn’t too impressed by their sides, I had their coleslaw, baked beans, and potato salad. They place a a partial bar too and offer happy hour deals. I would only come back if I was craving BBQ.

I’m not a barbecue aficionado. The food was good, but the ribs and the pulled pork didn’t have a lot of flavor. Yes, they came with sauces which were fine, but I expected more flavor in the meat itself. The service was quite good and they were generous with the bread(great for my 2yo).

Not the best BBQ I have had. I picked the pulled pork combo that came with baked beans and the potato salad. The meat itself was drier than normal but the BBQ helped a lot. Not a huge fan of the sauces either — I guess I like more of the thick sugary diabetic causing BBQ sauces, seemed a little watered down and lacked the flavor. The potato salad was alright — and the beans, very watery as well and needed to add some salt for flavor. Decided to try it out with the family through a Groupon bought(might have been a sign) and had a couple little outdoor tables that was nice to sit at in the sun. The wait staff was great and helpful but don’t think I will be going back. Have heard other people say great things but not my style.

Came here for a late lunch– Got the Brisket Sandwich and Potato Salad– The meat was tasty– I loved the hot bbq sauce– Very vinegary which I am a huge fan of(guess its the KC way?) The bread was just a little blah. Took the bun off didn’t really need it. The potato salad was great– Loved the flavor– My mom got the pulled pork and coleslaw– She loved the sweet bbq sauce — Looking forward to coming back and trying something different, and have with a cold beer.
