We saw this on food network a long time ago, and finally decided to give the place a try today. Walked in the door, it looked OK, like typical BBQ places, you walk through place to the back to order. Didn’t notice the sign that said Order Here, and we were totally ignored by the meat guy. We waited, my room mate is a wanderer and she followed the people who were in front of us, and next thing I know, the person behind me is being asked what meat he wants by the meat guy, and the the sides lady is asking what sides we want on the other customer’s tray. Had to explain twice that we had not ordered yet. Then the meat guy tells her that the people behind us were there first. My roommate ordered the daily special Pulled pork and sausage sandwich with 2 sides, potato salad and beans. I ordered the 3 meat tray, rib, brisket and polish sausage with Okra and jalapeño beans. Pulled pork was dry, sausage was greasy. potato salad was OK, and the beans were actually good. The brisket apparently arrives dehydrated and they reconstitute it or something. the ribs were over done and on the dry side, the polish sausage too spicy for my taste. The jalapeño beans were just that, unseasoned beans with added jalapenos??? I added a bit of the original sauce and that improved them some, they would be much better either with seasoning, or simply takes your regular beans and add jalapenos. The fried Okra was nothing special, I watched them pull a from a bag a side freezer, most of them stuck together. Needless to say, we were not impressed. We usually give a place a second chance, but usually not for a while, before we try again. Admittedly we are thinking hard before we may come back to this one. We definitely won’t be recommending the place.

I finally tried the place the other evening and was disappointed. It had all the feel of a franchise, which I understand it is. My usual choice of meal, when I compare BBQ places is ribs. As I was not all that hungry I ordered a beef brisket sandwich. It was okay, but I’ve had better. Worse, they don’t serve beer. I should probably give them another try, but there are so many great BBQ places these days that I’d prefer to go elsewhere. Franchise BBQ places are never the best place to try REALBBQ, but if I had to go to a franchise I’d pick Famous Daves. It’s good if predictable and I feel comfortable going there with friends who aren;t sure if they like this sort of fare.

Love! We moved here from Texas and have tried a few bbq places. We both have never been to dickeys, so we decided we would try it! We loved it! I wouldn’t change a thing! Turkey, pulled pork, spicy cheddar sausage, brisket, Mac and cheese, green beans and potato salad! Oh don’t forget the sweet tea!!! We will def be back!

Let me start by saying we have been loyal, regular customers since the opening of this store. The food was always good, the customer service experience was always good, and the overall experience was always good. BUT… in the last 3 months, all that has changed. Today’s experience(approximately 1:30 pm, Sunday May 29th) was the final nail in the coffin. After 5 minutes of standing at the counter, I was finally asked what I would like to order. I had to repeat myself, due to the VERY loud talking and laughing that was occurring in the back kitchen. The«meat guy» proceeded to pick and poke and generally man-handle a brisket, to the point that it looked like an autopsy… INSLOWMOTION! Now, I do know that a brisket has a decent amount of fat, and perhaps some trimming might be necessary before slicing it for a customer, but OHMYGOD, it isn’t a procedure that requires 15MINUTES!!! During this time, my husband was never even asked for his order. He wasn’t acknowledged at all. I was finally asked which 2 sides I wanted with my 1 meat brisket plate. My brisket STILL hadn’t even made it to the tray. And my husband had STILL not been asked anything about what he wanted to order. This was the point that I was so disgusted by the looks of the mangled and violated piece of brisket, I pulled the plug on our whole meal and we promptly left. Unacceptable. We had gotten used to seeing the owners working in the store during all the good times we were there. These last few months, those owners were absent. Perhaps the store is under different management? Perhaps the owners just don’t give a crap about their business anymore? Either way, the bitter taste of apathy that we have had to endure the last few months is now OVER. Not even a free ice cream cone after every meal can change my mind. And I’m gonna throw away the 47 yellow cups that fill my cabinets. So long, Dickies/Issaquah. Shame on you.

I love this place. Free ice cream before dinner is always awesome! Guys are friendly enough – food is really good… prices are fair. Kids eat free on select days is a bonus!!! They catered an event for me in Lynnwood… delivery was on time, large order was correct — overall a great experience!

UPDATE: I’ve noticed people complain about the slower service. This place cooks everything fresh and wraps meat constantly to keep it fresh. I recommend using online ordering if you are in a hurry otherwise relax and have some free ice cream. Super family friendly place.

I’m from Texas and was craving some bbq, decided to give this one a try based on reviews. It was really good. They were unfortunately out of the beef brisket, but the polish sausage and the beef brisket were good. Was happy they had fried okra too. The line did move really slowly though so be prepared.

My friend and I popped in for lunch today. The dude behind the counter(who we think was the manager because of his blue button down Dickey’s shirt, also wearing a Seahawks hat) was rude. I decided on a «Lil’ Hoagie,» for lunch, but when I ordered the man repeated what I ordered in a cynical manner, almost as if he was mocking the fact that I was a man ordering a «Lil’ Hoagie.» I wasn’t sure if I was just imagining it, so I paid for my order, sat down and didn’t mention it to my friend. Later, as we both ate, my friend pointed to the dude who took our order and said, «that guy’s an –hole,» and proceeded to explain his experience with him. My friend said that he asked the dude about side options and that he simply pointed upward toward the sign and scoffed in an unfriendly manner. What would have been an ordinary experience for lunch was turned sour by our ill treatment of guy who seemed to think too much of himself. I’ve placed a temporary embargo on this location — as I will not return to this location while he is still there. Restaurant was clean and cool. The rest of the staff were friendly enough. Ref: Issaquah, Washington location only.

I give their food four out of five stars — they make some good BBQ — but the staff at this location are either new, overwhelmed, or both. So I’d give them two stars. When you order the meat portion of your meal, they don’t ask you for the sides — that comes later, and by then you’re ready to pay but your sides aren’t ready. Completely inefficient. When we went there was(what I hope was) a new guy and he didn’t deduct the free kids meals so overcharged us, then had to give us a refund. That’s OK, but it slowed down the process even further and our main course was almost cold by the time we sat down to eat. The restaurant was also quite cold. It’s like they don’t want to turn on the heat. Lastly, they have two TVs on in the restaurant. I wouldn’t care so much if they were on sports channels or whatnot, but they had one TV turned to the news(CNN I think) so my kid was watching the aftermath of the Pakistan terrorist attack. Thanks Dickey’s!

4 stars for their AMAZING food otherwise I would of rated them 2. The service here is consistently off. I’ve been eating here for a while now, and majority of the time I get bad service. The point of doing a pick up order is to have the convenience of walking in, grabbing your food and going… This location has it backwards, they wait for you to come in before making it(even when waiting the 30 – 45 minute period I was instructed to do). At first I thought this was a one off, but after happening every time afterwards makes me think differently.

First time to this location. I think they brought in people from the south to run this place. Every single one was a good ‘ol country boy or girl. Sweet people and friendly!!! Not too busy in the evening we went, but they were out of baked taters. Only bad thing of the night. So we tried some 2 meat combos. The brisket is my favorite here. The pork and chicken are good too, but the brisket is great. Sides are always good. Lots of choices. They offer 3 sauces on the side, which is nice to change up your combos. Couple of tv’s gives it a very relaxed feel. And you get free soft serve ice cream at the end! We enjoy the food here and this location makes you feel like you are eating at the cousin’s place in Texas, very homey :-)

Dickey’s is a franchise so you’re getting corporate barbecue that comes from a manual, but it’s still a good experience when you have BBQ on your mind. The beef brisket is a good choice and you can’t go wrong with their pulled pork. I also like their sausage. I appreciate the fact there are three different BBQ sauces to choose from. The Issaquah location is clean and well run. I also like the fact you can make yourself a free ice cream cone for dessert!

First time in, got the bbq chicken with two sides. Everything was great except for the bread. Standard cheap white bread. Why spend so much on your meats, if the bread is horrible. Offer a Bakery bun for like a dollar extra. Clean, friendly staff. Cool place

My boyfriend and I walked in at 8:30pm(30 min before closing). There was a guy(had no name tag so I couldn’t get his name) at the front cleaning off the counter and grill area who didn’t realize we were standing there. His coworker let him know that we were there and he looked up and said«aww man» while looking right at us. When a customer walks in to give a company business the last thing I would expect to hear from a worker is «aww man». He then asked us what we would like to order and when my boyfriend said«we are looking over the menu and haven’t decided yet», the guy rolled his eyes out of frustration. After deciding what we wanted he made our food. We ordered two lil hoagies with Mac & cheese and coleslaw. We got our order to go and he wrapped it up and put it in the bag. I said thank you and his response was«yup». We got home and took everything out of the bag. The way he wrapped everything gets 0 stars. I know I’m sounding picky at this point, but I was very skeptical of trying the food and having my sandwich wrapped up poorly was not easing my mind any! The only reason this place gets two stars is the food. The hoagie was pretty good and I really liked the coleslaw. The food wasn’t hot anymore, but if we got it to eat there, and not to go, it probably would have tasted more fresh! I won’t be back, only because of the poor customer service.

Delicious. It’s a chain, but prices are decent and quality is really good. I ordered the 2 meat plate and picked the ribs and brisket. The brisket was surprisingly pretty moist and the ribs fell off the bone. I liked that you can pour your own sauce into little sauce cups. The staff was really friendly and happy to share the history of the owners. That’s always pretty cool. Can’t beat a free come of ice cream, too.

Ate at Dickies today and got the rib plate! Man they were good. Awesome seasoning, perfectly smoked, and crazy meaty! So good. At times, the line can be a little long and slow, but the food is always very good.

Overall, Dickey’s is a good place to get decent BBQ, especially in Issaquah. I have to admit, I never tried the Dickey’s that briefly opened on the other side of Issaquah a while back. The current location is in one of the Gilman strip malls near the old Denny’s. When we walked in, you could smell the smoke, which is always a good sign. In addition to the sandwich and meat plates, they have daily specials as well. We got: Daily special: pulled pork sandwich, two sides and a drink(forgot the cost, but less than $ 10). The pork had good flavor, and I loved the fried onion strings as a side(collards were ok). Rib plate: ribs were good as well. I like that the sauce is on the side. Fries were decent, and the slaw was good(a little sweet). We got our food to go, so we didn’t get any free ice cream. The workers were friendly, which is always a plus. I will come back to try the other daily specials.

Walking in through the doors of Dickey’s is like teleporting to a small town smoke pit in Texas. Pictures of cookouts and modern cowboys on the wall. Red brick and corrugated sheet metal. The music of legends like Loretta Lynn, Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard playing overhead tables filled with smiling locals devouring wonderful BBQ and just having a good time. Yeah, this feels a lot like Texas except I didn’t have to buy a plane ticket. Yes, Dickey’s is a chain and compared to a real smoke pit, Dickey’s is way too clean and orderly– but hey, they’re new in town. The place will get well seasoned after awhile. Several other reviews are comparing Dickey’s BBQ to Stan’s BBQ down the street. But that’s like comparing apples and pizza… just don’t do it. They are totally different BBQ styles. The rubs, the sauces, even how it’s cooked is all different. Stan’s is more Kansas City style and Dickey’s is Central Texas or Texas Smokehouse. Similar, foods but different. With that said, I do have my favorites… Dickey’s has way more sides options that aren’t crazy spicy and really really good southern style sweet tea. Sorry Stan’s. What would I change? I would put up some big beautiful ceiling fans and add more dill to the potato salad. Word to the wise: if they don’t ask– don’t assume the sauce the cook is picking is what you want. They have different sauce options you can easily choose from at the condiments bar too. I prefer to add the sauce to my food myself after I sit down at the table. Our family favorites at Dickey’s so far have been the brisket, the chicken and the ribs. Smoked to perfection but still soft, tender and not dried out. And the smoke rings on the brisket… Wow! They are absolutely beautiful to this BBQ lovers heart! And YAYYY! There’s a Dickey’s on the Eastside again!

I have wanted to try Dickie’s BBQ for awhile since they also have a location in Bellevue, but since we were close to this location with it being newly opened we stopped by for dinner. My fiancé and I both got the pulled pork sandwich for take out. When we got home to eat it I noticed that it wasn’t very big and not worth the $ 6 for the sandwich. It was tasty I have to admit it with the onions and pickles tucked inside. The bbq sauce was put in a small container for you which I liked and it wasn’t too spicy. Inside the restaurant they also offer free soft serve ice cream cones which is a definite plus after a filling bbq meal. The place reminds me of how a bbq restaurant should look like with a rustic feel. I wouldn’t mind coming again to try one of their complete meal options for only $ 9 instead of the sandwiches. They have quite a few meal options to choose from and all at the same price.

OMG one word sums it up… YUM!!! My husband is a barbecue fanatic so the really only good barbecue place in Issaquah has been Stan’s barbecue on front Street. this place is going to give Stan’s a run for it’s money!!! This barbecue is Texas barbecue not Southern barbecue which I love, and it’s so much more cheaper than Stan’s!!! For family of three it would easily cost us over $ 100 to get some ribs chicken and brisket with sides and drinks. At dickeys barbecue we can feed the whole family for literally under 40 bucks, that includes chicken ribs BETTER sides and drinks!!! dickeys is now our main barbecue place!!!
