We spent a truly magical date night at Le Café Cent-Dix. The dark lighting, the professional service and the FOOD. Oh my dear, the food … We started with a goat cheese and onion tart that was so delightful I couldn’t help but close my eyes to savor every moment. It was served with bib lettuce, the perfect fresh, crisp side to complement the warm, creamy goat cheese. This tart was absolutely the highlight of the evening. Sadly, their plate of the day was sold out so I went with the salmon. This was delicious and cooked perfectly but nothing particularly special, as I can get a good salmon at most restaurants. My date had the gnocchi which was more unique and very, very good. For dessert we had a pear tear with shaved almonds. Out of this world. Our server recommended we pair it with a small glass of dessert wine. I would not normally spend $ 11 on a small glass of dessert wine but her recommendation was spot on: great pairing with the dessert. Overall, a delightful meal and perfect evening.

Our dinner was perfection in every way, from the ambiance, to the wait staff to the food and wine list! While the food is beautiful on the plate, one also appreciates the attention to detail that the kitchen staff has taken to prepare each dish that is ultimately delicious! This is a restaurant that Ithaca has been waiting for! The fact that they don’t take reservations is just an «Ithaca thing», so please don’t hold it against them… Please also try Mercato next door, as it’s basically the same restaurant in an Italian kind of way.

Wish this place served brunch! But it’s dinner only. The prices are a bit on the high end, but the food is good — especially by Ithaca standards. The service was attentive, which was nice. Sounds like the place can get very busy, but I would definitely check it out if you are in the Commons.

Café Cent Dix is by far the best french restaurant in Ithaca. The quality of food and the experience here is what I would expect out of an infatuation-rated restaurant in NYC. Food: 5⁄5 Roasted beets with sherry vinaigrette: a nice simple starter with lots of flavor frisee salad w/lardons and a poached egg: one of my favorite«salads» to order and done perfectly. I dont know to what degree this is a salad considering the amount of egg and pork fat is in it but who gives a shit its delicious as fuck. Roasted Half chicken: Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside. Rick mashed potatoes and green beans tie this meal together completely. Service: 3⁄5 My only gripe about my experience here was that we had to wait so long to be seated and it seemed like our party was temporarily forgotten about in the bustle. I almost considered leaving at one point because it took so long and was getting upset but I am glad I stayed it was well worth it. Besides that service was fine, albeit somewhat slow. Ambiance: 4⁄5 its a mix of mostly older Ithaca locals and couples here — very few students. It gives the restaurant a somewhat slow feel to it. besides that it is decorates very tastefully. The mirrors on the wall give it a nice touch.

Amazing food. Sat outside and enjoyed the evening sky. Well trained professional wait staff. Exceptional food ate the scallops BLT and wanted to lick my plated. Stared with the beets, lentils and olives. Also highly recommend. Very fresh. Farm raised not store bought produce. Eat here when in town. Gabe and other waiters are pros.

The food was amazing here! Among the best I’ve had in Ithaca. Every single bit of our meal was delicious – even the free bread was so good – and the steak is cooked perfectly. It comes with this special red wine butter and I was OBSESSED. The interior is a little dark and it can get pretty loud and crowded, but I’m not surprised given the quality of the food! Authentic french food, indeed!

The food was great but 20% tip already included in the bill. Wait, what? We were in a party of 2 and the 20% tip was already there. At least the taxes wasn’t calculated calculated over taxes. THEN you’d see someone angry lol. Hmmm that doesn’t feel quite right.

They do everything right. Food great; service great. Like it better every visit. The French menu is well executed. I often chose the nightly specials. Add on a bibb salad. A side of mushroom and lardons… The service makes the place. Attentive and skilled, while unobstrusive. All the little things that make a pleasant experience. Heck, even the water is the right temperature(no ice). A hole-in-wall in a busy restaurant row. No reservations. Eat at the bar and enjoy a conversation.

I was skeptical of the 5 star rating… And I think it was. Excellent service and food. Will definitely return on my next trip to Ithaca Really enjoyed Onion soup, escargot marinated olives. Nice ambiance.

I could write a wonderfully detailed description but to put it simply this place is sensational! The food is classic French executed perfectly. Favorite indulgence in Ithaca!

Excellent. The tuna nicoise was rich, savory, and tangy, albeit perhaps a bit pricey at $ 11. French onion soup soothed my soul. We also had a sauteed fish dish which was perfectly executed, and a completely satisfying apple-almond tart. Better value than many similarly priced close restaurants. I’d much prefer Cent-Dix over Agava or those priced slightly below and offering far inferior product.

Very delicious. Despite the menu being concise, I had a hard time choosing since I knew everything would be delicious. We started with a few small plates/starters, including a very delicious celeriac slaw. I had the half chicken and my companion had the gnocchi– both were amazing. I would have tried the desserts but we were too full! My only negative comment is that I would have preferred to have been closer to my dinner date across from me(the table seemed a bit deep) rather than so close to the party at the next table(The deliciousness of the food made up for it though!). The waitstaff was amazing. I will definitely be going back(hopefully many times!).

Wow! They serve the best onion soup I have had outside of Montréal and Paris. Nice wine list as well, and we also enjoyed the mussels although the soup and a small salad would been enough, the soup was so filling and satisfying. This is a small restaurant that doesn’t take reservations and fills up quickly so get there early or late. The only caveat is that it is a little noisy and the tables are close together, but the latter was fine when we ended up having an interesting conversation with a Cornell professor and his wife at the next table.

Went to dinner with my girlfriend at Le Café Cent-Dix on Saturday September 20th and had a great experience and meal. We showed up at about 5:20 and there was already a short line at the door. We were seated right away and the host was very welcoming. Our waitress was extremely efficient and checked on us several times throughout the night. The starters were excellent, as was the salad(dressing was amazing!). My girlfriend and I split the poulet roti(chicken) and cleared the entire plate. We finished with crème brûlée for dessert, which was the perfect amount. Altogether we had a wonderful evening. I would highly recommend Le Café Cent-Dix over pretty much any upscale restaurant in Ithaca. You’ll get a great meal, great service, and a great atmosphere for a reasonable price. Definitely check this place out!

Absolutely phenomenal. Great selection of wines, starters were out of this world, main dish left me literally licking the plate and we actually ordered a second dessert. You’ll want to save room for every course on this journey through French cuisine because this place is on point!!! Even the bread and butter left us silent at the table(no time for conversation because we were busy enjoying the food). The ambiance is super authentic, romantic, and cool. Let’s not forget the staff, they made us feel welcome, wanted, appreciated, and pampered. This is literally my new favorite spot.

Starters and mains were good, and the house red is excellent value, but the desserts were terrible. I had an apple tart that was made with flavorless apples that the chef had tried to disguise with about a pound of spice, and my partner had chocolate cake that was dry and a little bland. This was especially disappointing as this is one of the few places in Ithaca where the portions aren’t so enormous that eating three courses is impossible. This is a great place to get dinner, but get your dessert elsewhere.

Great service and delicious food! Great wine list with a range of prices! I started with the ham hors d’œuvre called croque madam and it was so delicious. I must also recommend the half chicken entrée which was super juicy on top of delicious potato purée. For wine, I really enjoyed the house blush.
