I really cannot recommend this place. The owners are nice, but the food wasn’t seasoned at all and the noodles where overcooked.

The new owner is very nice and the foods here are amazing! Definitely one of my favorite! The new Korean style food is definitely worth the price!

Some of the best fried chicken i’ve had in years! The new Management has done amazing things with this place, their selection of Asian cuisine is great, as well as their amazing homemade chicken wing sauces!!! The homemade chicken tenders are a perfect combination of juicy and crispy! I would highly recommend stopping by and checking this place out!

The fried chicken here is AMAZING! The menu has a learning curve though and yes, it’s pricier and slower than KFC, but that’s fast food. This is delicious, quality, organic chicken we’re talking about, and it’s fried to perfection. One minor thing to be aware of is that the menu is a bit strange– for example the specials are all the same price, but the quantity of food changes depending on whether you want tenders, wings, or thighs, which is sort of backwards from how it ought to be. Also there aren’t very good descriptions on the actual menu. However, since you’re a savvy Unilocal user, you’ll be able to figure it out from reviews :) Pending such minor details, I think Tango Chicken has a sort of revolutionary approach to fried chicken. It used to be the case that fried chicken meant low quality cheap fast food, but that is not what Tango chicken is. Tango chicken is the fried chicken of people who care about the quality of their food and are willing to sacrifice a little more money and a little more time to obtain that quality. This revolution in the quality of fried chicken is closely paralleled by the cultural uniqueness of Tango chicken in combining fried chicken with asian cuisine and ambiance. They should probably hire someone to help rewrite the menu and maybe help with advertising and aesthetic flow, but overall I think they’ve got a really good thing going; they really challenge the norms of fried chicken.

The food itself is not bad, but it’s certainly no where close to worth its cost. I came here for the lunch special. It’s $ 9.99 and you get a choice between 4 wings, 4 tenders, or 2 thighs. I went for the wings, not knowing how small they would be. They’re rather slow, considering I was the only person in the place and how small the chicken ended up being. I think it took them fifteen minutes to bring my box out. The box will have your chicken, a salad(which takes up the most space in the box), two small cheesecake squares, and three tiny egg rolls. Again, the food itself doesn’t taste bad, especially the cheesecake. But is it worth $ 10? Definitely not. Chicken here would be worth it if they cut the cost in half. I feel like the bento box they use could’ve been compacted down to half its size in order to fit what they give you. I can’t imagine $ 15.99 for their dinner special would be any better. I know Ithaca lacks a legitimate fried chicken place, but this place is not the answer. You’re better off going to McDonald’s and getting that mighty wings deal that they’ve been spamming so often.

This is legitimately good food, a rarity in Collegetown. If you order the lunch or dinner special, which I would recommend, you are given a sort of bento box with four compartments — an appetizer of egg rolls, a salad, the main entrée — fried chicken, and then a dessert consisting of a slice of apple + two bite size pieces of cheesecake. Beginning with the chicken… Tango’s fried chicken is really good. Tango uses organic chicken which it then perfectly fries — the outside is crisp and the inside is moist and soft. The chicken is not too salty, and seasoned just right. Though you can ask for ranch or spicy sauce, sauce is totally unnecessary. In fact, I think it’s best enjoyed without sauce to fully appreciate the quality of the product. The egg rolls are literally the only egg rolls I’ve ever liked. I never get egg rolls when I order Chinese food, and if they’re given to me as a side I usually take one bite and throw it away. On the other hand the egg rolls at Tango taste fresh, wholesome, and have just the right amount of oil. Tango provides you with a slightly spicy sweet sauce which is a great accompaniment for additional kick. The salad is very mediocre — unchopped, unflavorful vegetables that don’t really go cohesively together. As far as the cheesecake bites they’re above average, though not amazing… certainly far better than the awful inconsistent cheesecake you get at CTB and better than Alladin’s on a typical day. Still, the cheesecake bites are a perfect end to the meal and the salad makes me feel a little healthier. Overall, Tango Chicken is one of the best options in Collegetown. The menu is a bit confusing, but the fried chicken and egg rolls are consistently good. The bento box is well thought out, and you’re left quite satisfied at the end of the meal. The negative reviews for this restaurant seem to focus on the price($ 10 for the lunch box, $ 15 for the dinner one), but I think the price is fair given the consistent quality food that Tango Chicken cooks up. Plus they’re using organic chicken so that probably increases their ingredient costs substantially. If you’re living in Collegetown I would certainly recommend this place!

10 dollars and 30 minute wait for 2 pieces of chicken thighs? Fried chicken should not be this absurdly expensive and slow. This is probably one of the priciest and slowest places in college town now. They really need to improve their efficiency. The fried chicken is pretty good, but not 10 dollars or 30 minutes wait good. And it’s a bit over breaded. And their salad has apples and blueberries in it, but their salad dressing seems to be straight soy sauce with a dash of sesame oil. Salty apples, lettuce, and blueberries tastes pretty bad.
