Everyone I come here they forget things or get our order wrong. It also difficult to eat here in the winter because it’s so cold and their door doesn’t close all the way. Maybe hey should put up one of those portable vestibules in the winter. When the blonde lady is there the staff is on point. Wish she was there more. Will walk down the street to other diners in the future.

Horrible horrible horrible service ever. Me and my husband went there for the first time. And I must say this is the worst place I have been to in my life.
We order the western omelette which was ridiculous. They didn’t even cook well. Freaking ham smells like it has not been refrigerated all night. Guess what even though we were eating that omelette we found a hair on it. We complain to the server but she was just acting like she didn’t see any hair on it. And she told us to find a hair. They should definitely hire good staff who knows how to behave with the customer.
Also we order the pancake, after one bite of that pancake my husband was speechless. It was all burnt and doesn’t even taste like the pancake. I order the turkey cheese burger. And the turkey smells and it was not even cooked. After going to this place I felt like I will never ever had a burger in my life. It was that horrible.
Worst experience and food ever. I think this place should have 0 star. They don’t even deserve one star. They didn’t even pay attention what customer was trying to explain. I think they should hire well enough staff to take care of the customer. On top of that we are paid the whole entire bill. At least a apology should have make us feel good.

Don’t pay attention to the bad reviews. I’ve been coming here for years and have built a close friendship with all the staff they make you feel at home and it’s a great enviroment. Try the arroz con pollo its the best and your choice of side you won’t be dissapointed.

I love Ricky’s for what it is – a really solid, affordable diner. I have several ‘favorite’ waitresses and they are always attentive and treat me well whenever I’m there. My favorites: pancakes with banana with a side of bacon, omelettes (ask for the green hot sauce), chicken parmigiana, and fried chicken.

Service was horrible, they didn’t bring us water or juice, they didn’t check up on us. No refills on coffee. No napkins, no straws, no forks. The waiters were too busy talking to their friends.

I came here with my cousin when I was visiting New York, and overall, it wasn’t a bad experience, but it wasn’t quite a WOW experience either. The prices were inexpensive enough, but the food itself was a bit average. I ordered an omelet with potatoes, and what I got was a so so omelet with fries on the side. It was OK, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to return. Thank you.

There’s a reason this place is so mediocrely rated. It’s because that’s how mediocre it is. I ordered pancakes and eggs after they informed me they didn’t have two other items I tried to order. This was at 10 am, which is ridiculous.
The pancakes were okay, the eggs came on the pancake which meant yolk was running on the pancakes. Absurd. The eggs were mediocre once I did end up eating it.
The coffee was really watered down and they served it with lukewarm milk, no cream available.
Maybe the Colombian food fares better but the American diner food was woeful.
Should have just gone down the street to an Indian place for breakfast.

I came in for breakfast and discovered a meeting place for locals. The wait staff knew every one who came in and it felt like I was in a small town. So refreshing since NYC culture is often who rough and tough. Friendly, efficient service, decent food. Great prices.

Two stars is being generous.
Granted, I understand that Sundays can be a busy time for brunch/​lunch. But if that’s the case, have more than one — nay, more than two — waiters working so you don’t have to wait 15 minutes for water.
A milkshake and a grilled cheese sandwich is typical diner fare, right? Wrong. I and my two friends ordered milkshakes, and the waiter came back and said that they only had enough ingredients to make ONE milkshake. Who runs out of milk and ice cream?
Mediocre food, understaffed and crowded, this was not a fine showing for Ricky’s.

A diner serving American and Colombian food. It’s not a fancy place, but the owner is quite friendly, and price is cheap. The food is OK, I won’t say it’s delicious but considering the price it’s acceptable.

It’s a tiny café in the middle Jackson Heights. Really love the waiters, especially Eddy. I always come in for their cute little brownies. Love having breakfast here early in the morning. :)

This place has pretty good American diner food with a Colombian spin on it. The prices are pretty cheap, and while the food may not be anything to write home about, it’s still pretty good. I liked how they were showing the World Cup on the lone, big-​screen TV. The space is a bit cramped, but small groups should still be able to be seated comfortably. Basically, it’s a nice place for casual dining that I enjoy going to. Just don’t expect anything too fancy.

A great neighborhood place which serves simple, predictable American diner food. Nothing fancy here. Ricky’s is exactly what it appears to be. And that is one rare and special thing.

Just moved into the neighborhood, been here about 3 times already. Really good service, super cheap, and just a good fun environment. I always sit at the bar, and the owner? (Blonde woman) is always there and giving great conversation. Def a classic diner experience for me.

It’s local favorite. And when i mean local, i mean actually being part of the neighborhood for years –Not some newer establishment putting up some pseudo front as local. With that said, it’s nothing special. Food is not entirely jaw dropping to cause anyone to wet their pants or have their loins get all moist. Relax. Watch the view of passerbys, enjoy the real atmosphere of unpretentious locals minding their own business… before it’s all gone.

I stumbled upon this place one morning. I grabbed an egg sandwich and a coffee. The owner was super friendly. This place is so much better and cheaper than going to Dunkin Donuts or another quick stop fast food place. Support local business. They’ve been there for a long time and they seem to love what they do in there.
I can’t wait to go back to try the other foods.
Passion for food is alive in this place.

The food @ ricky’s is still great, but after yrs of working there a few of the employees have become a bit dis-​missive when speaking to clients. Today I oreded food. after 57min and 34 sec I called to find out about my order, before I could say. Any thing the young women over the phone just started saying“yes, yes, yes. I will get there” and hung up with out finding out who or what the order was. after 1hr, 17min & 26 sec I called again; again with out asking me who I was or what the order was I was told «the guy just left» and they server hung up. 1hr, 38min & 43sec. I finally got my food & the order was wrong. I for one will stop buying my coffee there after over 15yrs

Came here the other day for a burger. It’s in the neighborhood and I’ve been meaning to try it but with all the other options in the neighborhood, it’s never been a top priority. Decided to try this place for lunch and it was very mediocre. The burger was standard and I tried to substitute my fries for tostones but they said I couldn’t. Fine. I ordered a burger and a side of tostones instead.
There were also flies and a bug roaming around. I understand every restaurant is not perfect, but there were a few too many gnats and flies. Also, in the corner of the wall, there was a large bug crawling it’s way across the restaurant. Didn’t sit too well with me.
Lastly, the service here stinks. It took about ten minutes to get the check after we asked twice since we were in a hurry. It looked like they had a cash register issue, but c’mon, at least tell us!
Can’t wait for Mark Twain to reopen.

This place has been here for as long as I have been in Jackson Heights. (almost 30 years) My father worked here in the late late 80s and I always just remember him being by the door on the side of the café with the really tall step that I was never able to climb as a child. The food here is regular diner food which is good because the only other diner that is decent is pretty far away (for my lazy ass).
I saw a NY1 report that said that the owner is going back to culinary school to learn how to change up her menu. I think that is a great way to show that you want to keep your customers happy, and make new ones. I have always had a pleasant experience while being a patron at Ricky’s and look forward to eating there again soon and seeing eventually what the new menu options have to offer. I have had regular BLT’s, breakfast platters and they have always been delicious. I have not had any dinner specials here and I guess I will never call in my order after reading what other Unilocalers said so far.

Horrible service! I tried calling for delivery several times and had many fails! I call and ask for how much the delivery of 2 cheeseburgers, the man says «Hold on», he kept me on hold for literally 7 minutes and then he tells me it would be $ 10 and I say okay take my address and then again he says «Hold On» and this time for 13 minutes! I was so upset that this guy was so busy with other things that he wouldn’t take down my info which would’ve only taken a few seconds! I got mad for waiting so long and hung up. Then I called them back after like 3 minutes and the guy just put me on hold the second he picked up! Again I was upset and hung up. I thought i was just a busy day that day so I tried calling again the next day and the same exact thing happened!
I mean why is delivery even an option if he cannot he handle his own business. I mean I’m a customer that wants to pay you, why would you neglect that! I got so mad and ripped up the menu, I’m never ever ordering from there again!
