Denny’s

I don’t know what is so hard about cooking some easy-​over eggs but Denny’s is consistent with most other breakfast spots in Jackson. The egg has been seared, just so to hold the runny whites. (Order eggs at your risk.)
Order comes. Familiar look. Punctured the whites which ran over the cold toast, sent it back.
It comes back again… overcooked. It appears to be a new order but its a washout. Yolks overcooked, whites have crusty brown ring. Toast still cold. Can’t figure out why cooks can’t get it right /​reduce the heat. Tried poached eggs — usually overcooked.
The waitress, to her credit offered to send it back again. That’s why I’m giving this a two star .
She was the best experience this time. The food was disgusting.
BTW: very few customers at this lunch time.

The coffee is somehow always like warm and tastes burnt. The service is the best part of the whole experience. The cooks are loud, cussing and talking about people in the restaurant, and as I sit here writing this, one of them won’t quit staring at me and winking every time I catch him. I don’t want to be sexually harassed while I eat. And now the kitchen is blasting rap music. Wow.

Still Sucks! Went there with a group this time. Daughters pizza was not fully cooked and missing a slice. WTF my meal came out 5 mins after all other orders at the table. Wife said soup was nasty.

When I was at the Jackson Dennys today, i was at one of only eight tables being served. Still, it took an unreasonably long time for the food to reach my table. I wasn’t the only person in the restaurant who appeared to be dissatisfied with the long waits as other couples sitting at tables nearby were obviously impatient. I have visited this Dennys a few times and it seems that long waits are the rule rather than the exception.
I enjoy Dennys food but it just isn’t worth the long wait. It’ll be a long, long time before I visit this Dennys again.

One of the waitresses here is awesome. Andrea, you get five stars, but Denny’s gets one. Because no one can cook an egg right in that joint, and it stopped being worth it for $ 2 biscuits and gravy because really, what’s the point if my eggs aren’t runny. What. Is. The. Point.

Two things to say about this place, first the food really sucks, I mean just terrible and second, the older blond waitress/​manager that has a smartass attitude, and her f’ing commentary that pisses me off more than trying to be funny for a tip. Second time I left this a penny tip for her commentary, she just don’ t get it.

I absolutely love Denny’s but hate this one… Been here several times and the food is always terrible and very slow service which is disappointing since it’s the only one in the area!

I didn’t leave a tip but I have a tip maybe they should put the blond waitress on nights in charge sense she’s the only one who seemed to give a damn. Food was good as always they have great cooks. Brown haired waitress seemed to b lost.

July 25, 2015 12am… We waited more than 10 mins to be seated but both servers never sat us. One of the servers came to the front to ring up the couple who was leaving then he just left the counter without saying «I will be right with you». We realize they are understaffed but they could have at least said something. Poor customer service. The upper management must do something about this unless they do not care. I wonder how many customers leave every night because they are being ignored by the servers.
We left and the other customers behind us left as well.

Wait time is way to long. 30 minutes for grand slam breakfast. Maybe 10 people in whole restaurant. Came in other night late and night chef was in a bad mood. Yelling and saying he needed a a smoke. Today eggs a little over cooked… burned on edges pancakes cold. Hashbrowns ni: e a crispy.

I never leave Unilocal reviews, it’s not normally my thing. This Denny’s disgusted me enough to finally do so.
Against my better judgment, (because I have relatives that swear against this place) I recently ordered a breakfast to go, which included French Toast.
When I got home with the breakfast, the French Toast had MULTIPLE hairs cooked into it. So I had to toss the breakfast and lost all appetite. Now, I’ve been in the culinary business and I understand «stuff happens», but it was disgusting.
Worse, I’ve talked to two of my friends and one of my relatives, who’ve all ran into food safety/​hygiene issues such as this. All locals who never go to this place now.
4 people total including myself who’ve had these issues, that can’t just be «stuff happens» incident anymore.
Jackson Denny’s, I’d suggest some changes in hygiene procedures or staff.
Customers, avoid this place until they clean up their kitchen.
Gross.

We have been eating at this Denny’s for a long time. It has gone way down hill over the last year. It seem to be getting run down. The downgrade in service is really noticeable. We have got «MiMi» a few times now. She is very nice but the consistently worst server I have ever had. Poor looking salads. No drink refills unless we ask. Way too long to get the check. Maybe she is overworked but it did not seem like it. We have given this place several chances but I am officially done with all Denny’s. Too bad because I really used to like it.

Closest Denny’s to my parents house. Server was nice. Host was nice. But it took awhile to get our food. I ordered the skillet and I wasn’t very happy, the portion was so small. I thought it was a joke. Then I ordered hash browns and that was small too. I mean are they running out of food or something haha cause I felt like I finished my food in 3 bites

This Denny’s is a weekly stop for my family, so we have seen the progression within. It went from ok with a few good waitresses to new management chasing them all off! Every time I’m here lately, the best waitresses (the ones who are quick, remember regulars, easily remedy mistakes including those made by others, and put in the most effort to be courteous and friendly) have either quit, had their hours reduced and shifts changed, or are just sour from being treated so poorly! There is one waitress left on regular shifts that is amazing, Andrea, and that’s it! Kristen got moved around and hours cut, and Bonnie quit because it wasn’t worth it to her to stay!!! I’m EXTREMELY disappointed with the upper management of this establishment now, they are treating their employees soooo poorly!

I clicked one star because I believe that is the lowest rating I could give.
After waiting for approximately 10 minutes from being seated my server finally came over and took my order; which included an iced coffee.
I’ve now waited for approximately 10 more minutes as she clears tables and takes orders from larger parties (I’m only one person that made the mistake of trying to get a quick breakfast) I would attempt to hail her, however, spit is my least favorite seasoning.
Thank you Jackson HWY Denny’s for reminding me why I stopped patronizing your food chain.

A Denny’s is a Denny’s. Usually. You go into one and it is the same as the last even if it was a thousand miles away. You would not go there for a special occasion but it serves not terrible food at a decent price. Talk about faint praise. One thing I had always expected of a Denny’s, though, was a decent cup of coffee. Not brilliant, just decent. This restaurant does not even deliver that. You know how a bad coffee can be described as tasting like dish water? Well, I have never submitted myself to tasting that but the best I can say of the coffee here is that it did not taste of soap. Denny’s is Denny’s but the coffee has to be at least OK.

5 stars for Denny’s? Yeah, I know, but this Denny’s deserves it. I’ve been here now on 3 separate occasions for breakfast and have had a great, hot, delicious meal every time. And the kicker is that the service has been great every time! Super friendly.
I like to substitute my toast for a pancake with my omelet, and while it’s not technically a menu option, the waitress just says, «absolutely» without hesitation. Then, when my order comes, there’s TWO piping hot pancakes along with it! BTW, the Meat Lover’s Omelet is damn good stuff!
So yeah, when you’re needing some breakfast, Denny’s is always sort of a known quantity, but THIS particular one, for whatever reason, is above and beyond.

BEST DENNYS I’VE BEEN TO, CLEAN, THE FOOD WAS FRESH AND HOT. service was great.

I’m a «regular» here when I visit during 4^th of July and Labor Day Weekend. It’s right next to the Best Western, which makes it convenient for a late night drunk rendezvous, or a morning hangover cure.
I usually order a Grand Slam, or a Bacon Cheeseburger with Curly Fries. I get the Cherry Limeade to accompany the burger, and a coffee to accompany the Grand Slam.
The food is Denny’s food, not much you can expect there.
The service was pretty good, even at 2am… The servers are somewhat talkative and always make sure you’re in good hands. Sometimes though they’ll be a little shaky, and forget something that you ordered. Luckily this happened to my friends, not to me.
They also have a bar attached to this place, which must be good for the locals. I usually don’t hit the bars when I’m in Jackson.
All in all I give this place a 4. It’s a Denny’s… Not a 5 star restaurant. But they’ll take care of you!
