I have no ratings for this place. Worst ribs I have ever eaten. They were over cook and a good grade of ribs. Went there with friend who said the had real good ribs and mine friend even said they were bad. He had a rack and have were burnt. A lot of fat and very little meat. In my opinion they weren’t prepared righ before cooking. Couldn’t even get a taste of smoke. Two sides and no flavor in the beans, worst Cole slaw I ever had. I have eaten in the Dickeys in San Jose California and they were good. But the one in Jackson California gets a zero rating from me. Bad Father’s Day lunch, won’t eat there again wasted money on that lunch. I won’t recommend that BBQ place to anyone.

As soon as I walked into this place the man behind the counter was arguing with one of his customers. I didn’t really think much of it being that a disagreement is bound to happen. I proceeded through the line, and the older man behind the counter was giving sass to his next customers. When my turn came I stood there and the man said nothing to me. No «I’ll be right with you», no «give me a moment» no nothing. When he finally asked me what I wanted he didn’t say anything after I said my order, so I proceeded to order more. When I would speak to modify my order the man very rudely interrupted what I was saying to say what he had to say. Yes I understand the man has questions too, but this man was very rude. Instead of responding after I would order he would just wait in silence and as soon as I would speak he would interrupt me(I was ordering takeout for the family). I finally made my way to the register after plenty of confusion and told the lady it was my first time in the place. If it wasn’t for her kindness and showing me where straws and lids and all that were, I would have given this place one star. I’m not sure if that man is always rude or just cant deal with the pressure that comes with working in customer service, but I have never felt so disrespected in a restaurant. As far as the food goes, it wasn’t good enough for me to spend my money here again.

Mediocre BBQ at its finest. Just because you make a place look like a road house doesn’t make it one. This is a perfect example of a corporate food chain. Everything is right where is should be, including the prices. The owner is really nice, but you can tell she’s a new business owner. I ordered the sliced tri trip, with the two sides for roughly $ 13 before a drink. The guy slopping it down on the lunch tray started chopping the tri tip. I reminded him of my order, he responded with«we don’t have anymore to slice unless I pull some out of the smoker.» Nothing really stood out, the service was bare minimum, the food was the equivalent of a BBQ sandwich from AM/PM gas station and the tables were either dirty or not cleaned properly.

Personally admonished for making the last of my signature root beer floats? One star minus! This is what happens when you rate a bbq joint based on the availability of soft serve. Get down to L.A. and experience the real thing at Bennys Backyard BBQ Pit, Phillips, or in the Valleys — Dr Hogly Woglys Tyler Texas BBQ on Sepulveda. Not as great as the reviews say it is. The customer service was friendly I’ll give them that, but the food was merely average. The ice tea was advertised as a trademark drink, but wasn’t good either. I wouldn’t recommend it honestly.

I am from Texas, where the barbecue is legendary. Thus I have put off eating at Dickey’s since they first came to Jackson a few years ago, because everything I’ve had out west pales in comparison, and a chain barbecue joint just didn’t sound like anything I would want to patronize. Recently though, my husband brought home a couple pulled pork sandwiches with several sides and man, was I surprised. Not gonna give them 5 starts because that is reserved for the masters, but Dickey’s absolutely exceeded my expectations and is definitely some very decent barbecue. Surprisingly spicy barbecue sauce and really tender meat. The potato salad was bangin’ too. I’ll be back for sure.

Holy cow this place was expensive for having a group of people. The meat was good but I’m not sure how I feel about the price of it. Got quite a few side dishes to go with it; good thing the ice cream was free because I think I paid for that also. The owner was nice and he tried to accomodate us when we had a big group and not enough tables and chairs. I probably won’t come back just because I have seen the nutritional facts on this place but if I am really dying for BBQ I would come here by myself. I just won’t ever come back with a group.

Great Dickey’s location with excellent parking, nice temperature controlled-clean dinning room, walk up line, open seating, fair sized dinning room, self serve soft drinks, self serve ice cream machine that is for all guests ordering food, three different heated BBQ sauces with plastic cups for guests to have as much sauce as they want, open kitchen area so you can see the staff making your plate as you order, and the casual atmosphere is very comfortable for most situations. After around five visits and three different sets of friends I can attest to the consistency of the food. Our friends have been thrilled with our choice of Dickey’s for lunch and dinner by telling us it was a great meal that they enjoyed tremendously. I think this type of meal would be a winning choice with most people so I do recommend Dickey’s as the double date restaurant. There is a large selection of beef, pork, chicken, and sausages with different preparation methods. The meats come out of an oven pre-measured and wrapped in plastic wrap. The staff slices it up and adds sauce but I recommend using the self-serve sauce station. Next, you select your sides. All of the sides are BBQ style appropriate with crisscross cut fries, baked potato casserole, BBQ beans, jalapeño beans, bacon and green beans, Caesar salad, potato salad, coleslaw, creamy mac and cheese, fried onions, fried okra, and a couple others I can’t remember now but I will update this the next time I’m there. Next they have small rolls that come with each meal combination. In addition, there are desserts like pecan pie, apple pie, cream pie, and many others. All these items have consistently been the correct temperature and have stayed warm or cold throughout my entire meal. I believe how the sides are served in containers helps them stay at the best temps keeping the food tasting good. Finally, the taste, is above average with a appropriate amount of seasoning and correctly prepared, meaning, I’ve never had over cooked it under cooked meat. Bonus, I’ve found the food seasoned well and not overly salty. Dickey’s for catering: Our friend’s daughter is going to buy Dickey’s gift cards from Costco and save 20% for her wedding. I thought this was brilliant and should be shared because having BBQ, like Dickey’s, would go over well with around 95% of most crowds. The following items should be added to Dickey’s menu: corn on the cob, vegetable skewers, deep fried pickles, broccoli slaw, grilled veggies, grilled jalapeño and some kinda watermelon salad. I’d love to see some more healthier options but I understand this is mainly a meat restaurant. Finally, the staff. There is an interesting trend I’ve noticed. With every visit it’s the men serving the meat and the women towards the end of the serving line collecting the money. The staff is very helpful but on our first visit we didn’t understand all the self serve items and it wasn’t explained. Luckily, we figured it out quickly. This Dickey’s location needs to survive in Amador County so I recommend, if you like BBQ, to visit and tell your friends to visit. If you love BBQ become a regular. Otherwise, it could disappear like many great restaurants have.

We have eaten here several times and I have to say this location is the best. We also had them cater our wedding, great prices, food stayed warm, all of our guests loved the food. The owner was very nice and helpful through the whole process.

This experience was much better than last time I was there and received poor service from the male owner who gave me a hard time for using a gift certificate I won at a fundraiser. Hey, you all decided to donate to a local cause and that shouldn’t earn a customer attitude. Because of that I wasn’t sure I would return soon, but glad I did. Today we were served by Cody and another young man who were friendly and efficient. Daily deal pulled pork plate was delicious and I am now addicted to the fried okra. Good thing the other staff are doing a great job. Keep up the training of staff. It seems like this place runs much more smoothly when they have 3 working the line. Take out is often slow, but it works great to call ahead and pick up. We want more beers offered and some on tap would go great with the BBQ!

This place has been open for awhile now but I hadnt been until a couple days ago. I am not big on bbq but I was missing out. I loved the food. Its a little pricey but I had a coupon. And I like that you get a free soft serve ice cream cone at the end.

This would have been a 2 star review had it not been for the very friendly staff. They were better than I would expect at a fast food restaurant. Welcoming and friendly. The food was bland, especially the sides served in their tiny little containers premade. The ribs for over 13 bucks were meh… Staff 5. Food 2. Too bad. The décor, the staff were great. I guess I shouldn’t expect good BBQ food in a fast food chain restaurant.

Had late lunch here on Sunday, i had the two meat platter with Polish sausage and ribs and two sides I had the green beans with bacon and the waffle fries. The ribs were really good fall off the bone and the Polish sausages were very good came with two ribs and the polish sausage was cut up but there was quite a bit, I was very happy with both of the meat choices they were very good. The green bean with bacon tasted a little watery could use a little bit more seasoning and the waffle fries would’ve tasted better if they would’ve been cooked a little bit longer but not bad. Service was really good. Will definitely be back the next time I’m headed to Jackson.

Been to a few if these, this ones spot on for the chain. Food won’t blow your pants off but it’s consistently good to excellent and you won’t walk away hungry. Owner/manager is looking for help(says so on the sign) but I was impressed to see him working the tables instead of the till. Two small TV’ in the corners and limited inside seating. However, sitting outside on an a nice night with the sun going down is superb! I’d make plans based on getting here around sundown to take advantage. Local wine from Avio a super plus for supporting the locals! Welcome to Amador Dickies!

BBQ Is good, not great and is a little pricey considering the size of the portions. They advertise smoked ham, with signs everywhere, but in the three times we’ve visited they had run out. But worse then anything else is the people running this place. They seem to get bent out of shape because we asked for ham. The manager or owner made a point of walking around and asking how every bodies meal was and made a point of walking by our table and snubbing us because I had asked about the ham, how childish. Dude this is the age of social media, get some people skills.

Well, you’ve seen reviews with ‘iffy’ customer service and others with ‘great’ service. I’ve had both, the problem is, when there is a problem, it’s the customer’s fault. You will never get a resolution and only be told somehow the issue is yours — As in previous reviews — excuses, excuses, excuses — You may be lucky enough to get a half-hearted, snide ‘well, I’m sorry’ - Gosh, how I miss Incahoots in Plymouth. I’ve been eyeing the BBQ sign on the Sierra House in Pine Grove — will try that next time I have a hankering for some Q, maybe they might have the Texas BBQWITH the Texas hospitality —
