More nostalgic than good food. Have been coming here intermittently since probably the 70’s. I don’t think the catfish is as good as it used to be. They are smaller and not cheap. You get a plate with 5 for $ 15.50. These are with bones and on the small to medium side. Dinners come with salad or cole slaw, fries or a baked potato. Pickle plate for the table. And a few hush puppies. Service was a little all over the place. The famous strawberry pie was fair. I used to come here with my grandparents so that brings back great memories. The food is okay. No view of falls. Free parking. Staff friendly though. I think they just needed more of them.

Good Catfish, No View With a name like Falls View you would, reasonably, think that you could view the falls. Well, not really. The restaurant is near High Falls but there is absolutely no view. The interior is one high-ceilinged room with some side rooms. It all feels very institutional. With a place like this it is best to stick with what they do best – frying. So we had their fried whole catfish, fried catfish filets and fried shrimp. All were very good. We thought that the whole catfish was a little sweeter and moister than the filets, but they are more work. The cheese grits were quite nice. The pickle plate was good. The coleslaw was the type bought in huge buckets from the restaurant supply store. It is better to go with the salad. Service is pleasant. Unfortunately, cleanliness is not impressive. We usually don’t judge this kind of restaurant on cleanliness, but this place should have been better. The bathrooms were in huge need of a cleaning and remodeling. Fried catfish is a nice occasional treat and this is as good as any other I’ve had. But I wouldn’t go much out of my way to return.

Service was great. Prices are too high for the area and do not match the quality of their food. Catfish are too greasy(grease was probably not hot enough) and shrimp had to come out of a freezer.

My wife and I have eaten here several times and the chicken tenders are always great. The bred is also really good. The people are always very nice. They are only open Thursday through Saturday and the parking lot is always packed. It is a little rustic and the furniture is outdated but it’s worth a visit.

Certainly in the top two best catfish restaurants I have been to. Wife and I had the 3 piece catfish fillet. The fish is perfectly cooked and seasoned. Not at all greasy. Cole slaw is different from any I have had but it works well with the fish. The tartar sauce is good and the hushpuppies were again some of the best I’ve had. Service was fast and the food was on our table in no more than 5 minutes. It is a family run restaurant with a comfortable homey feel.(Maybe it was the fire in the fireplace when you first enter.) So why only 4 stars? The fries were clearly frozen and just didn’t measure up to the rest of the freshly prepared meal. We will definitely return the next time we are in the area.

My favorite catfish place period. best cole slaw. Yes the wait staff is slow sometimes, but I know that going there. When I go to eat catfish I take my time too. If you need extra fish or tea just tell them as soon as you sit down to keep it coming. oh and try the strawberry short cake.

Not having visited this place since it was remodeled, we were excited to see its new look. However the new look was all there was. The food was apparently still left from our last visit. Sickest I have been in years 6 in our portion of a large party and 5 of us got sick.(majorly sick) Others in the larger group also reported being very ill. Cannot in good faith say to go here unless you have some kind of enjoyment in staying in the bathroom for 3 days. They are not open all week either Wed — Sun So once you become sick on Sat they will be open in time for your funeral

Arrived with 8 members of my family. I ordered the all you can get catfish for $ 16 while others ordered fish filets and chicken tenders. The food arrived quickly and correct. That is where the good stops. Everyone had sweet tea for a beverage, the server brought a pitcher of tea so we can fill our glass, she brought un-sweet tea. I ate my 4 – 6 inch baby catfish and waited and waited and waited, no server. Everyone finished their dinner and after 25 min still no server. We had to send a search party around the restaurant to find the disappearing server. Finally after 30 minutes she showed. Everyone’s glass was empty and we requested more tea and I asked for more catfish, hello all you can eat. The hush puppies were lacking flavor, the fish was decent but the all you can eat option only offers full fish, no fillets. I have had better. Service was the worst ever to quote comic book guy.
