Unilocal needs a new map for this one. Unilocal says I’m 7.8 miles away. Like many of the steel manufacturing facilities these days, they want you to use a CB radio to check in and receive further instructions while in the facility. There is only one scale to use for both inbound and outbound truck traffic for finished goods. This makes for long lines waiting to go in either direction. They utilize a covered platform area for all flatbed tarping operations. Pull into a lane, then engage the platforms to either side of the flatbed trailer. I didn’t find the system too difficult to operate. For flatbeds with side kits, they require the left side and rear panels to be removed and stowed. Loading was very smooth, using overhead cranes and large magnets to move the product from floor to truck. After loading is complete, the driver is instructed to return to the platform area to complete tarping.
