This was the absolute worst Chinese food I’ve ever had. I wouldn’t waste my time or money here, terrible .

My family is so disappointed with the difference in this place after the ownership change. The food is now tasteless & tonight everything in the buffet was cold. We were told they turned off the heat at 5 p. m??? …It was around 7 when we went. We used to go 2 – 3 times a month but I think it might be time to move on. Too bad, it was one of our favorite places in town for the last 20 years.

I am traveling with a friend and found this in the middle of nowhere. My friend wanted salad. A quick glance showed they had«salad bar» and«dinner buffet» so we decided to hop in. Let me just summarize with a few points for the benefit of future customers, and also for the sake of the owner(s) with hopes that they might improve and serve the community better. 1. This was the smallest ever Chinese buffet I had ever seen(or been to). There were not many options of food to choose from. 2. The salad bar was a major disappointment. There was lettuce, carrots, cucumber, peas, black olives: just a handful of them. Not fresh! Unappealing to say the least. 3. The sui mai was good! 4. Fried rice was okay(think panda express) 5. The broccoli beef was super greasy/oily. 6. IMHO $ 10+ was a bit overpriced considering the amount of food they put out.(The food trays were almost empty and there was no indication they were going go be refilled. By the time we were done [we didn’t go for seconds] they started cleaning, talking loudly, and seemed eager to have us leave) 7. Our bill came to $ 22+ w/o tip(we did tip!) There may be times when they do a better job, but to my disadvantage(and theirs) this wasn’t a good day. I regret going there. I hate to leave unpleasant reviews but like I expect truthful reviews from others, readers deserve a fair review. I am not gonna lie!

I have a soft spot in my heart for this restaurant. Since my family and I moved to the area eight years ago, we’ve enjoyed countless meals here– not just because of the good food, but because the owners were friendly and always welcomed us like they’d missed our visits. Unfortunately, they sold the place recently, and the atmosphere and food quality have suffered terribly. This evening we decided to give them one more chance, and I’m sorry to say we’ll never go back again. They’ve kept the restaurant’s name, but changed all the recipes! Can they do that??? If the new recipes were yummy, I wouldn’t complain, but the chow mein was gummy, the egg foo yung was dry, and so was the fried rice for that matter. To top it off, they didn’t even have the eggplant in garlic sauce that we’ve always enjoyed there. It’s so disappointing. Just a shell of its former delicious self.

2 words. Wonton Soup. Won’t go anywhere else for good Wonton soup. Golden Wok’s is the best.

Food is good, but service is hit n miss. I was told 15 mins. for a to go order, that took 45 mins. Not cool at all! Don’t want to sit in your cramped little waiting area for half an hour. Don’t mind if it’s 45 mins. just be honest! Don’t want excuses after the fact.

We live down the hill in the valley. I discovered this place while working in the area … Often we make the trek up here to have a lunch it’s very good the food is fresher from 11:30 to 1:30. They have a small sushi plate … I’m not a shushi person so it doesn’t matter to us. However the egg fu young is very delish and the fried cheese wontons are the bestest … I like to mix the hot n sour and egg flower soup … They also have these sausage type dumplings … All the food is good to great and the wait staff is very welcoming and polite quick to refill drinks … And just a pleasure to chat with especially when you become a regular … And all for 7.25 per person … Awesome …

We really enjoyed the variety of items on the buffet. There are items for both vegetarians and meat eaters. They also have fresh sushi. A nice surprise. The price was good for the options available. The flavors were distinct. Nice lemon chicken.

Lots of parking in front of small mall/storefront. Business sign was out/broken. A little hard to find. Greeted by owner and seated. Buffet was inviting and looked clean. It was quite good. Others had Kung pou chicken with rice. More than they could eat and

Firstly, this place is a grimy(it probably IS clean, but the age of everything just makes it look dirty) stereotypical Chinese place, in the middle of a very tired and slightly run down mall. Sometimes restaurants like these can be very good… but not this one. It starts with a very disinterested server(who spent most of the night, talking on her phone while wearing the earbuds), leading you to your table and demanding the age of all your children OK, so maybe English is not her first language or he strong point, and it just got lost in translation… but then you realise she IS speaking English into the phone. She takes our drink orders and disappears, but does return pretty quickly with the right items. Then she disappears, never to be seen again I guess its time to find some plates and check out the buffet, which had an interesting selection of food that actually doesn’t look too bad… it was a shame it all tasted the same, and pretty«blah» at that. In the end, the food wasn’t bad but it wasn’t even close to good either.

Now I’m not much of a Chinese Food person, but a friend took me to the Golden Wok for dinner last year and I was pleasantly surprised. The food is excellent, and you have so much to choose from. The food that really stood out to me was the Golden Wok Chicken and the Sweet & Sour Pork. I have to say their Sweet & Sour Pork is the best I’ve ever had. If you aren’t much into Chinese Food as myself there are other things in the buffet such as mussels, breaded shrimp, salad, Chinese buffet style doughnuts, and more. And even though it is a buffet the service is great. Our drinks were served fast and the people there were very friendly. I have went here several times since my first visit, and so far have absolutely no complaints. There was one night we even showed up right before they were going to close and they did not mind seating us and staying open a little bit later. This shows that they truly care about their customers. While it isn’t a large buffet, the food greatly makes up for it. I would much rather go to a smaller buffet with excellent food than a big buffet that doesn’t have good quality. And best of all the price is very cheap, yet you get fantastic quality food as you would with an expensive buffet. Recently they added a flat screen TV into their restaurant, which I found a great plus as it adds some entertainment.

Not the best anymore in town, but still quite good. Go for lunch as the prices are less expensive… DONOT go for buffet after about 2:30−4pm, they don’t have much business and the food that’s out has definitely seen better days, yuck. Looking for a decent buffet, go to Good Friends in Valley Springs. They have come a long way in the last year or two. They have a decent selection of sushi for the hills, mostly the imitation crab based stuff, but a good variety of other staples like ebi, maguro, hamachi, sake(salmon), sashimi and sushi, chilled peel and eat shrimp, mussels and oysters, ok hot food, lots of fried stuff and the ever present greasy noodle dishes… overall a good deal and some decent grub if you don’t want to commit to heading down the hill to Sac. Try them both and see for yourself.

I find it odd that there are so few reviews for this restaurant, which has been here a very long time, and only 2 locals. So to help remedy that sorry situation and as someone who’s eaten there quite a few times over the years, I would have to say that unless you really like buffets you probably aren’t going to be happy eating here. They do have a large selection on the buffet and though I’ve certainly seen worse, the food isn’t so great, most of the time. I’d get there early if you want the buffet. They also have been known to take some of the food off the buffet for those ordering off the menu which is a practice I very much dislike, and would not tolerate if it were me, but aside from that, the service is pretty good.

Four of us went for the buffet dinner and we all enjoyed it. In fact, we were surprised that the food was that good and there were so many selections to choose from. Soup was included in the buffet as well as some sushi. not the best sushi, but OK considering it was just part of the buffet and not their specialty. Most of the dishes were tasty, but not spectacular. We had been there once before and ordered off the menu, but the buffet offers good selection at affordable prices…$ 10.50/person was a really good deal. My favorite dishes from the buffet were the Golden Wok Chicken, Shu Mai(pork dumplings) and the bacon wrapped appetizer. Wine and beer are available. I’m a Bay Area foodie and it’s really great that there’s a Chinese restaurant in Jackson that we can now enjoy. We go to Lake Camanche often on the weekends and we will definately stop in again at Golden Wok as regulars.

Conveniently located on Highway 88, this Chinese restaurant allows their buffet food to-go! Having gone snowboarding all day and getting up at 2am to catch a ride makes this little gal super hungry! I really wanted to give this place 5 stars but I know I would only do that given the desperate state I was in at the time. I liked the food because I ate the rest of the leftovers when I got home… I practically inhaled the first half when I ordered it. But it’s oily like most Chinese foods are. And then after I finally had calories(and rest) supporting my brain to function properly again, I decided that for $ 10, I think that the soup and drink should also be included. Maybe I’m just greedy, but it was buffet take out! Again, buffet!
