This is obviously not Mexican food and much of what I saw borders on not even being Tex-mex. However, if you’re looking for tasty food and a laid back atmosphere Los Tres Amigos is a good spot. My parents love the place so I’ve been several times when I’m back visiting. I’ve never had something that tasted bad although the guacamole I had last time was clearly not made fresh in the restaurant. They have a pretty large well stocked bar that looks like a decent place to grab a few drinks and watch the game. I’m. It sure how busy it can get, but I’ve never seen the place packed.

They have decent food but not great. Some of it is authentic and some of it is more Tex-Mex. There are much better authentic Mexican options in Jackson like Chilangos or Tonito’s. The one thing the Los Tres Amigos have going for them over those places though is that they serve alcohol. So if you’re looking to enjoy a few margaritas or cervezas then this place will do. This location also has pretty cool décor. The food is not bad. I usually get the fajitas and have never been disappointed. Their other menu items have gotten mixed reviews from people that have gone with me. The pricing is pretty good and the portions are fairly large. The lunch portion size of chicken fajitas are always big enough to fill three tortillas to eat and still have a large box to take home.

We used to come here all the time but not anymore! I recently had the burrito tipico and it lacked seasoning and was flavorless. We also had the chips and salsa. The chips were cold and stale… We couldn’t even eat them. I will possibly give this restaurant another try but I much prefer the excellent and tasty burrito I got at Casa Rodriguez.

Great Mexican food served fast. I love the fajita quesadilla, but have never had a bad meal here.

Let’s be honest, this is not authentic Mexican food, but if you’re looking for cheesey, deliciously bad for you, tex-mex food this place is for you. Their menu is like a novel of different combinations of cheese, beans, meet and tortillas, but I would recommend ordering from their extensive list of combos on the last page special shout out to their chile rellenos. Any combination of tex-mex favorites you ever desired is waiting for you there. For the price portions are huge, you won’t be disappointed. Service was friendly and they kept the refills coming.

I was hoping that this place would be good. My dinner partner and I were very disappointed. I realize that every person has a different taste. But this food wasn’t very good at all. And, maybe I caught them on a bad night, but service was horrible as well. The restaurant only had two other tables being occupied. It was an hour before closing. But we were still treated like we were burdens. On top of that, it took around ten minutes for the waitress to even come and get our drink order. Again, they were not busy at all. There was no excuse for that. Considering how slow it was, it still took a while to get our food. The waitress have us our food and hurried off. I waited a couple of minutes so I could flag h her down but she was nowhere to be found. Therefore, I had to go find our own silverware as there was none on the table. Both of our orders were incorrect. They not only messed up on the type of meat, but I also had one of my items that were wrong.(I had a combination) Truthfully, we had already had a few bites before we figured it out. By then, we realized that we didn’t want to wait for them to correct our order because the food wasn’t even worth it to us. We were very hungry so we ate just enough to curb our appetite. We didn’t take the leftovers home, either. It’s edible, but it felt like a waste of money. I’ve been to my fair share of Mexican restaurants, including a couple of gems in southwest Detroit. One of the items that I ordered was a chalupa. I also had a tostada. I ordered the chalupa with beef. It was bean. My tostada, which was supposed to be bean, was actually correct. The only thing… they were the same, exact thing. When I was finally able to find our waitress, I asked her about it. She got a big attitude and went on about how people think a chalupa is not supposed to look like the two bell version and that most people get mad when they order it because it’s not what they were expecting. No, I was mad because it was a tostada! I asked her what the difference was and she couldn’t tell me. She just skipped over my question and kept saying how they aren’t supposed to look like taco bells. I know this. But there was no difference between my tostada and my chalupa! Even when I showed her, she still told me that it was my chalupa! They were the same, though. She just didn’t want to deal with it. Both chalupa and tostada came on a thin, flat corn shell. REAL chalupas come on a slightly bent, fried tortilla. You can tell the difference between a chalupa and a tostada by looking at it. These were both exactly the same right down to the toppings. In closing, we were made to feel like burdens, service was horrible, our waitress tried to make me feel stupid over the whole chalupa fiasco, we had to search the restaurant to find our own silverware, our orders weren’t correct, the food was yucky, and to to it off… my dinner partner ended up sick the next morning. That made me kinda happy that my order was wrong. I was supposed to have one item with meat(the chalupa) but it just came with beans spread on it. I will never waste my money there again. Bad all around.

They have such a big selection of food & the prices are fair. And the portions are pretty big. They bring free chips & salsa to your table. This is very authentic Mexican food & I recommend it.

Service was abrupt but efficient. The cheese dip is interesting. I am not sure how to describe it — maybe like a bowl of warm sour cream but cheese flavors. Same consistency. I don’t general choose ground beef to be in anything but in this instance, the combo plates don’t give you a choice, according to the waiter. The beef tastes like dog food smells. yuck. I suggest asking for chicken. The chile relleno was perfect and the crunch taco was really good once I scraped the meat off. Interesting décor. glad we stopped.
