Forget all the old reviews about Taco Bell comparisons. Forget«authentic» what ever that snobbery is. LTA serves outstanding, great tasting Mexican food. I would have given them 5 stars expect their wait staff seems to not give a hoot whether you are there or not. Still will be back in spite of that.

My wife and I decided to have dinner here on a spur of the moment. We were quickly seated, had something to drink in less than 5 minutes and a meal in front of us in less than 12 minutes. The food was delicious and hot, the chips and salsa we excellent and the staff was always quick to any requests we had. We will easily be back and maybe try the lunch menu.

This place reopened a few months back and i think it is awesome. The interior is very unique and clean. The food is awesome. Fresh and quick. The service is good too. I will definitely go back and i hope they keep up the good work.

we chose LTA on default, there were a limited number of places in the area, and we were not real familiar with Jackson. Have been to Howell’s, Ann Arbor’s, and knew their mediocre food, it’s on the same par. Did get the lunch special even on Sunday, a plus. But the quality and taste just isn’t there. Beans bland, could use some bacon to add flavor. Red gravy’s are equally common with no flavors that stood out and said come back and order me again. Rice OK. Hubby got fajitas which had better flavor than some other local chain mex. Chips and salsa average. So if you are in a pinch, they are just OK. I know to research the area I am visiting in the future.

Decent Tex-Mex at decent prices. Can’t complain.

Very good Mexican food on West Ave. in Jackson. They took an old Ponderosa and gave it Mexican flair. The service is fast, and the food is tasty. They also serve alcohol. The one thing that they should change is to make the taco’s more authentic. Overall this is a good Mexican restaurant with consistent food and service. If your in Jackson, you should give it a try.

Not the best Mexican restaurant in town, but the food is tasty and isn’t as bland as would be expected in the Midwest(I’ve even had one or two things that were approaching what I would consider hot and I grew up on Indian and Ethiopian food, so I should know :-)), the service is friendly and fast, and the atmosphere is fun.

Interestingly enough I must disagree with Michelle K. — I too am a longtime SoCal resident, born and raised, and I was extremely disappointed with Los Tres. Their tacos are nearly identical to Taco Bell’s — which is not a bad thing if that’s what you’re looking for and paying for, but that is certainly NOT what I was expecting from a classier-looking Mexican place that charges much more than Taco Bell prices. I have been to Los Tres in Lansing, Jackson, and somewhere else and have been disappointed each and every time. Not sure if they’ll ever have my business again, unless they completely revamp their tacos.

Not at all close to what you would expect of Mexican food, it is highly reminiscent of Taco Bell.

Best Mexican food around! Love the margaritas. Nothing in Michigan can be this good. I am vegetarian and they have combos just for people like me! My fiancé always gets the chicken fajitas and has enough for the next day. More food than you can eat in one sitting.

Fairly Americanized food and what you would expect for a midwest small town. Nothing too special, but not bad either. FYI: I think it is an old Ponderosa…

This could be the best Mexican place in town, but Im still searching. Ive eaten here off and on over the past 3 years and Im pretty happy with it. Unfortunately it failed my «carnitas» test. They were bland and unimpressive. Everything else Ive tried on the menu was pretty decent though. I would recommend the chimichanga, but not the carnitas. They have decent cocktail specials throughout the week and I believe they also have a kids night as well. Clean, fast, and friendly.

As a long time California resident, I was ecstatic to find Los Tres Amigos. Banish all preconceived notions of midwestern ethnic food. I had Mole Verde, which was very tasty. Nicely spiced, no kick to speak of(but then I’m not from the midwest) — came with tortillas, frijoles and rice as you would expect. Everything was well seasoned — nothing at all bland. Loved it. Loved the service — very fast and friendly.

Swoop on in for chips and salsa before you order, and tasty entrees. Service is very friendly, the interior is downright cute with arches and murals. Families, casual dates, or friends looking for good(cheap) food and margaritas will all enjoy their time here. Bathrooms are clean and well stocked, in the back left corner. Most entrees have meat, but there are ample vegetarian options and a section of veg combo meals, too!

It’s all the same tasteless stuff splattered on the plates…
