This is a very new Residence Inn, but it’s already showing wear and lack of care. During my 5-day stay, the stairs were never vacuumed, and the workout room was not cleaned. When we checked in late on our first night, our requests for«no feathers» and«extra pillows» had not been honored, so we had to wait for someone to bring non-feather pillows. Surfaces in the room were dirty with food and handprints from the previous guests. The desk phone didn’t work. One light in the kitchen didn’t work. One light fixture in the bathroom would immediately go off each time it was turned on. The bedroom door was pulling loose from the top hinge, so it was difficult to close. But here’s the worst part… When we opened the sofa bed, there were sheets already on it. It was late, and I’d been driving for hours, so I didn’t think too much about it and just went to bed. The next morning, I realized there were candy wrappers in the bed. I had just slept on someone else’s dirty sheets. I called the front desk and asked to have a manager come up and look at the condition of our room. The man who answered ignored my request for a manager and brusquely asked for a complete list of issues. Then he sent a housekeeper and a maintenance worker to the room. They took care of most of the issues, and the housekeeper confirmed that if there were sheets already on the sofa bed, that meant that another guest had made it up, as housekeeping doesn’t make up the sofa beds. The second day, after the housekeeper had done the daily cleaning, I noticed that the sinks hadn’t been cleaned, and the surfaces hadn’t been wiped down. They had made the bed, cleaned the toilet, and changed the towels. They did not leave a new packet of dishwasher detergent. Later, I noticed that the drawer under the oven was full of crumbs and food debris. Breakfast was typical for a hotel of this level. «Hot breakfast» including eggs, sausage, bacon, and waffles. Fresh blueberries were a nice surprise. Overall, not great quality food, and after the first morning, we prepared our own breakfast in our room. I was surprised that a manager never contacted me during my stay to ask if everything had been taken care of. When I checked out, I asked for a manager and was told the acting manager was in a staff meeting but the general manager, who would return the next day, would call me. That was three days ago, and I have not received a call.
