Just had our daughter’s 30th birthday party. Fabulous in so many ways! Owner, Ryan was fantastic to work with from planning to the actual event! Staff was like family & most of all the food was incredible. Especially the mussels: were the best I’ve ever tasted ! Thx u all ! We WILL be back!

Love it. Absolutely a must eat. Bangkok noodles. Great bar and the naan is perfect. Incredible décor. Same owners as Teton Thai in Driggs. Both places are amazing

I loved the décor in this place.(Especially the bathroom). As long as you set your expectations that it’s not a traditional Indian food experience, you’ll enjoy it. We liked our curry dishes a lot, especially the butter chicken. The service was spacey and we were seated late despite having a reservation, but this was not unlike most of our experiences in Jackson. Overall-a great spot!

We wanted to eat some Indian food but there was not much of «Indian» food on the menu. We ordered«Bison phở» and vegetarian curry. The taste was ok but bison was hard and was not matching to the soup. Noodle was ok but not great. I would go somewhere else but the good thing was that it was open on Christmas day!

Not sure how many Indian restaurants there are around Jackson, but this was a pretty cool place. Décor is uo to date and hipster. Great service and awesome American spins on classic Indian food. I ordered the Bison Phở and it was awesome. The toppings are on the side and you can add in what you want. There was plenty of noodles and several pieces of Bison. We also ordered the Chefs rambler and it tasted alot like Chinese food. This in itself was confusing. Not sure if they are trying to become an Asian restaurant or an Indian restaurant? The Rambler had beef, brocalli, and rice; with a sweet sauce. Food took forever, so I recommend ordering the Naan as an appetizer. I’ve had ALOT of Naan in my life and this was the best I’ve ever had. Mixed drinks were strong and they had a full bar full of local brews. Overall, I highly recommend this place.

Are you kidding me? This is the farthest from Indian food I have ever eaten. The only thing«Indian» about this restaurant is the name. Nothing we ordered was even close to Indian food. There was not an Indian person to be seen anywhere. I would be amazed if there was an Indian in the kitchen. Even the«décor» of the restaurant wasn’t Indian; it was more British. The naan we had was undercooked, and tasted nothing like a really good piece of naan. There was a curried mussels dish, which was actually good, but it is a Thai dish, not Indian. We had the Palak chicken, which was simply chicken with just froizen chopped spinach put into a blender, nothing more. No spices, no cream. Yech! The other dishes likewise had barely a hint of traditional Indian spices. I have no idea why this place has a four-start average rating. If you know and love Indian food, stay away!

The food is not authentic Indian. They get ready made frozen Chapathis and serve them as Malabar Parathas. Even the side dishes looked like they were just reheated. The Biriyani was awful. It was not even Basmati rice. I would not go to this place for authentic Indian food.

I do not leave many reviews, but in this restaurant, we were really unsatisfied. When we came in, we were asked to wait for 45 minutes. Fine, its the only Indian place there, and we wandered around a bit. Then, we settled down, and took quite some time to decide what to order. The service person came by, and we asked for some more time. When we finally were ready to order, they were out of the Lamb curry. Then we wanted to order something else, and it was also not available. As it turns out, fewer than half of the dishes were available! They could have told us before we spent quite some time deciding on what to order. Or, even better, they could have told us when we came in and were told it would take 45 minutes wait time! Very unsatisfied, we didn’t leave a tip. After our trip, I see that more than the bill was charged, even though I clearly marked the credit card receipt. Don’t eat here, and if you do, double check your credit card statement!

First off, I’ve spent a lot of time Indian. And I’m a vegetarian. As are most Indians. I love Indian food. I am indian. I Gained wait in Indian b/c I ate so much. And here in Jackson — The palak paneer is terrible. And it has been served to me, twice, cold– which means it isn’t fresh. My husband and I have both been ill from the food, twice. Of course, I will keep praying that they improve so we can have Indian food in Jackson that doesn’t taste like Sysco.

Totally worthless. Please don’t go to this place if you are in the right mindset. All foods come from an Indian store in Salt Lake city. Including gravies. Yes you heard it right! Everything is the ready-made stuff we get from an Indian store. That too for an exorbitant price. The highlight was the dish called Malaysian Paratha for 3.50 $. That is nothing but the Kawan Paratha we get at an Indian store at 7 $ for a pack of 25. Absolutely ridiculous. I don’t understand how people can fool others in the name of marketing. Please don’t be fooled by the reviews and land up here. I don’t write reviews often, but I just want to absolutely make sure no one else suffers. Absolutely pathetic. I give a 1 star only because Unilocal does nt allow me to give 0. I ended up paying 200 $ for the ready-made Indian stuff I would have paid 20 $ for.

Excellent food! Reasonable prices as well. Paratha, raita and the vindaloo were especially good.

Let me get the negative out of the way first — this place is overpriced. Why is it overpriced? Well, most likely because of its location, the lack of Indian food competition in town, and its cute interior décor. This place is not what I think of when I think of an Indian restaurant(you know, a somewhat dark and old place, most likely with a buffet, that contains at least a couple of actual Indian people inside). Despite the price, the food is pretty tasty, so tasty, I way overate and felt like I might die after. Anyway, I had made a reservation for 3 of us, but we ended up being a group of 4 with a baby, and the staff accommodated us. We started with the bison dumplings… why have essentially potstickers at an Indian restaurant? Oh, well because the name the ‘Indian’ refers to the body of water, not the country, interesting. The dumplings were good and the sauce served with them was delish. They had a special on a fantastic drink– essentially boozed ice chai tea, 5 $, can’t beat that! For food, I got to try the tikka masala(very tasty), the butter chicken(good, but a bit too tomato –y), and some layered chicken with rice and veggies and curry sauce dish which was easily the best thing I tried. We also had some garlic naan which was an exceptionally small portion for the price, but was tasty. Would I go back? Possibly, but it wouldn’t be number one on my list.

Should have been better, When you have to sit next to a huge table in an empty restaurant is not appreciated When you have to hunt down your waiter /waitress for your check is bad When they do not ask if you need anything else demonstrates poor impotent management

Awesome staff — like, for real. Food was good, but rather bland(yeah, it was a «1» on their scale). Rice was overcooked. Again, I’d go back — because they’re all super nice.

I don’t know where they source their paneer but it was SOFREAKING delicious. I forced everyone on my table to try a bite and they all agree. I don’t know how to explain it — it wasn’t crumbly or tofu like — more dense with a ‘squish’ at the beginning. Sort of reminds me of cheese curds. I had the paneer makhani and my husband got the Chicken Tikka Masala. Both the Tikka Masala and makhani sauces were slightly different than we’ve used to but they were both very delicious.

I agree with all the positive reviews! The Indian is a charming restaurant, with quaint decorations and cozy ambiance. We had to wait for a dinner table so we sat at the bar, ordered a couple of drinks and small plates. Drinks are good but the small plates are simply delicious. Mussels curry, fried okra, bison dumplings… Everything is tasty but on the spicier side. The lamb Vindaloo we ordered was extremely spicy too. Full disclosure: we are Indians used to eating moderately spicy food and asked for spice level 3, thinking the default level might be too mild. It was spicy to such an extent that we had to order ‘raita’ to tone done the spiciness! Lesson learned — check with the server on the default spice level which differs based on the chili harvest being used. Despite that, I would go back to try the other small plates, get the Mussels curry and get a few more drinks! Definitely recommended.

Fantastic! From the perfectly spiced, tantalizing food to the exquisite Mai Tai to the impeccably designed décor … I will definitely be back and will bring my friends with me. Indian food is an incredible addition to the Jackson Hole cuisine offerings and you will certainly not be disappointed with the experience at The Indian. Definitely check this restaurant out — for an amazing meal or just a snack and cocktail in the bar/lounge area. Love it.
