Fantastic! Price was a little high but the food was great! Loved the brisket and smoked chicken the most.

A bit pricy and limited in volume for what you pay for a lunch. Great choices of beer and the evening crowd and atmosphere is a lot better.

This was my first time in Jackson, MS. This place was close and had good ratings. The restaurant was easy enough to find, but parking can be limited. Place was pretty packed too. I ordered the pork belly corndogs, smoked chicken disco fries, pork rinds and fried green tomatoes. The corndogs were great. Very tender and flavorful. Disco fries were very good. You can definitely taste the smoke. Draw back were the fries. They should have made them crispier considering all the toppings. Pork rinds were good, but a bit under seasoned. Green tomatoes had good flavor, but a bit greasy for my taste. All in all, the place is good. The staff was friendly and fast. Ambiance was laid back and nice. I would go back to try their other unique offerings. Got my eye on that boudin burger. That should be interesting. Enjoy Folks.

Definitely the best ribs in Jackson. I tried the dry and glazed. Both were good. Fried green tomatoes were the best I’ve had. Beans, greens, and pasta were good. Just can’t get into the potato salad. Too much mustard for me. I do like their beer selection. Employees were friendly and service was prompt. Would definitely come back to try the other stuff.

A nice find and an unexpected surprise. I grew up around Jackson, but have resided in Texas for about nine years now. Texas may be proud of their barbecue, but they focus too much on beef and smoke… whereas native Mississippians know the real deal means low-and-slow pork, coupled with a stellar sauce. P&P did not disappoint. Now one area that Mississippi has historically NOT excelled in is beer selection, but P&P seems to be closing the gap in that department. While they only had eight taps on rotation, all were regional craft beers worthy of being showcased on draught… short but sweet. The bottle selection, however, is where things get interesting. I understand the MS state beer laws were amended about five years ago to allow for some of the better, higher gravity brews to come into play… and P&P has a formidable and diverse selection with a few rare-birds thrown in… good job Chris*. Chris, as I understand, is one of the owner’s and also handles the beer selection… we met briefly while I was in town and stopped by for lunch… super nice guy. I sat at the bar where Natalie was happy to tell me a little bit about the restaurant and the beer selection… and while I was familiar with most of the brews, Natalie was happy to tell me a bit about some of the local beers that were new to me. I ordered the pulled-pork tacos, which were fantastic… tender meat, served«Memphis style,» meaning coleslaw on top which seemed to be very lightly vinegar-based(as opposed to mayonnaise)… good stuff. The sauce that came out with my napkins and silverware was pretty rad(excuse the 80’s reference)… sweet & spicy. They’ve also got a nice sized patio with shade and bench seating. Natalie was also kind enough to let me sample some of their brisket once she learned I hang my hat in Texas… which was also rad. Tender, but still had the purple smoke ring. My only qualm is that I would like to see them, eventually, add a few more taps to rotate some draft beer… a minor issue to be sure, as this place deserves to garner more attention. All in all, 9÷10… I’ll be coming back the next time I’m in town. Sincerely, A Happy Texan

Had the Grand Champion — ribs, brisket & pulled pork. All meats were great. Brisket did not pull apart, but had very good flavor and good smoke taste. Collard greens and potato salad were very good. Fried green tomatoes were great.

Talk about GREAT service! Southern hospitality at its finest from the time we walked in. Over the top service from ordering until we left. You have to sit on the patio and enjoy the fresh air. I’m a stickler on cleanliness; they were very clean and very tentative to our needs. This is a super cute remodeled older gas station. I love the look and it’s very close to UMMC.

It’s Tuesday night. I’m heading back home. I need to eat and I give it another go with Pig and Pint. Without a doubt, this place rocks and didn’t disappoint yet again. In my last review I mentioned I may try the boudin burger. While I’m still very interested in trying that at some point I was convinced by the cashier to go with the ribs while he pointed to the countless trophies for the cook offs they’ve won. «Sign me up.» I also went with the pork belly corn dogs and my sides were the baked beans and potato salad. Let’s first start off by saying, this place has a great vibe. It’s funky and hip, smokey(smoker smokey not cig smokey) and laid back. I cannot even begin to explain how courteous the folks that work here are. This place is the epitome of fabulous service with smiles, thank yous and plenty«welcome». These folks could start a side business to show other places how to have great customer service. Top three for me in that regard. The food. Geezus. If there is ever an item you should try while in Jackson Mississippi, the pork belly corndogs with the dipping sauces has to be it. I almost bought more to bring back home but figured i would be back soon enough to try it again. The ribs, oh my, the ribs did not disappoint. Great smoky flavor and tender pull away meat. This was my second visit to The Pig & Pint and will it will definitely not be my last. Kudos to the owner(s), chef(s) and wait staff for a great experience on both visits.

Stopped and ate there are on our way through to Florida. The BBQ nachos were amazing. Not far off the interstate. Great outdoor seating as well.

I tried the pulled pork sandwich with sides of coleslaw and baked beans. Pulled pork was good, sauce was particularly nice and sweet and tangy. Coleslaw and baked beans both had very unique flavors(for a Californian anyways). Not my favorite but I recognized they were good quality ingredients and probably standard for the south. Service was great and food came out fast.

Meh. This place gets a lot of Jackson hype. I can’t even talk about the Bbq(I’m pretty sure it had no taste). The sweet sauce, however, steals the show! Actually, they were all seemingly sweet which was a plus for me, much to my husband’s chagrin. We sampled everything the staff recommended and I came away shrugging my shoulders. Maybe I missed something great!(like the Boudin burger maybe?) Overall kinda’ disappointed. May take another crack at it! On the bright side… I love the cute lighting setup outside. Great curb appeal!

Went with a group of friends after the Blues Marathon back in January. The line was long, but they worked through it surprisingly fast. Everyone was attentive and the food was superb. Full disclosure — my favorite part was the beer selection. If you’re in the area, definitely stop by.

Cool place, friendly staff and great vibe. The brisket sandwich was very good and the pork belly corn dogs had a great batter. The fries were also good but their red sauce is some of the best I’ve tasted, sweet with a little kick. Check this place out.

On my drive westward from Florida to California, I stopped by here to grab some delicious BBQ. The brisket and the fried green tomatoes were amazing and would be my number 1 recommendation. I should’ve grabbed some ribs to-go just so I could have tried it, but honestly without even trying any, I would say The Pig & Pint is probably my favorite BBQ joint, not located in Texas, for the great flavor and classic BBQ atmosphere. There were lots of picnic tables equipped with different condiments and paper towels to accommodate the masses of fingers enjoying BBQ sauce. They even had cornhole boards(bag toss) and big jenga on the side of the restaurant where people in their business-clothing would play for a little while waiting for food or just to kill time before going back to the grind. Located somewhat near the freeway near a huge medical center, it was an interesting drive since I’ve never been to this part of the country. If I wasn’t driving across the country on a schedule, I’d love to have stayed for a pint of local brew while enjoying some delicious Jackson meat.

I’ve been here a few times, and it’s a great atmosphere. You can sit inside or outside on picnic tables. They only sell beer and I’m not a huge fan of beer, but there are some fancy flavored ones which are delicious. I had a peach beer. Today I sat outside with some friends from work and had white cheese queso, some sides, and nachos. The fried green tomato side was excellent as were the pork nachos. The pork nachos were amazing actually and they loaded up the sour cream. The beans were just okay, and I did not like the cole slaw. It had some spicy dressing in it when cole slaw should be sweet or calming against the BBQ. Overall, fun place. Go for lunch, after work, or on a Saturday afternoon. They have trivia Monday nights too. Enjoy!

I found this restaurant recommended on Unilocal while we were about an hour outside of Jackson. I placed an order for pick up and I was extra pleased to find I received a coupon through Unilocal. I ordered the brisket sandwich which was sliced thick and there was a lot on the sandwich. Bbq sauce was delicious. I got the potato salad as a side. It was unique and delicious. We also ordered the taco sampler plate. I wish that it had of been my order! I took a bite out of each one. Sooooo good!!! I highly recommend you try the tacos. Wow! Highly recommend

Delish!!! Loved the taco sampler: one pulled pork, one brisket and one fried green tomato(our fave) Also, they had a great beer selection and Natalie the bartender was more than helpful with local brew recommendations(LuckyTown/Surfside Pineapple Wheat). Clifton checked in on us, giving us a warm welcome to Jackson… Good times, Southern hospitality and yummy food and drinks!

The beer selection is sweet!!. The bartender also knows his stuff and gave me some samples before I ordered, which was awesome! I do think the price for a pint is a bit steep for beer. ORDERED: ½ slab of ribs: Delicious but I thought it could have used more sauce, however this is personal preference. Collard greens: too salty and the sauce drowned out the greens itself Fried Tomato: so good! the creamy sauce was a great addition

The Pig & Pint was a great pit-stop on our journey home from Sioux City to New Orleans. Thanks Angie T. for writing about it! We wanted barbecue, and they didn’t disappoint. We beat the lunch crowd at this renovated service station with nice outdoor seating, but we chose to sit at the bar seating in the window. My sister and I split the ‘Que Sampler Platter $ 16.99 with two sides which was more than enough for us. The Sampler came with Pulled Pork, Hereford Brisket, and Smoked Chicken. The sides we got were potato salad and cole slaw, both homemade. I think the potato salad was made with red potatoes, and the cole slaw was thick pieces of crisp cabbage with a lighter sauce… both the right amount of spicy and flavorful to go with the meat. Next time we’ll order more pieces of bread since we were splitting but it comes with one nice piece of Texas Toast. I would say my favorite of the meats, to my surprise, was the chicken. Great smoked flavor with nice size pulls of meat and went really well with any of their sauces all of which I tried. You didn’t need teef to eat that beef… brisket and the pulled pork was good, though our serving of pulled pork was a little more pulled?(really thin strips) than I’m used to but still tasty. There was a sauce that was a thinner with a more vinegar-y kick than the others that I really enjoyed with each of the meats. My only suggestion would be to label these suckers, so I can remember which one I liked, and maybe buy when passing through again! There were definitely other things on the menu that I would love to come back and try… or you guys could just open in New Orleans… just sayin’. The staff was very pleasant and cleaning up after anyone that left… though, ahem, gentlemen dining in, it wouldn’t hurt picking up after oneself, this ain’t a pig sty, just the Pig & Pint. I’ll partake in the Pint on that next visit too with a designated driver.
