This is now our go-to for Chinese food in Jackson. Their huge sushi menu is really fresh and delicious. We also get the special wonton soup for two every time we go. It’s filled with chicken, pork, shrimp and fresh vegetables. I’ve never had anything here that wasn’t fresh and delicious.

Service was not good. Everything was over priced. They charged us $ 11.50 for seltzer. Will not be returning

Chinese food is terrible. Literally everything has same taste. Sushi is delicious and quality is great however very very expensive. With all of the half price all roll sushi places opening up I feel I can just get just as good sushi at those places then spending double the money here at wok and roll. Dynasty Asain fusion in Howell blows this place out of the water and is much much cheaper. I will try wok and roll again but have to careful order before my bill for 2 people is over $ 100. I’m pretty sure this restaurant changed owners which is a big reason for their downfall.

Hands down, the worst chinese food that I’ve ever had! The sauces have way, way too much sugar and no other flavors. It’s somewhat pricey for chinese and the dishes do not taste fresh. I hope this review helps others save some cash by not going here.

Ordered: a) Sushi Tempura Shrimp roll /Very good ++ b) Pepper Steak /Tender strips of steak, good tasteful balance with use of sauce, onions and peppers. c) Egg rolls /Excellent crispy shell, loaded with good flavor. Great service, didn’t wait long. .would’ve rated(5) stars, but gave(4) b/c our portions were somewhat small. Will definitely visit again and possibly upgrade to a 5 because it was that good overall!

The sushi is very good, the food is «ok». But don’t come here when its busy because the service is terrible. Tea was not available yet(its a Chinese resturarant?) and we finally got it when part of my main meal came in. Something I always order the waiter claimed they couldn’t make it, but they did anyway, but it was too orangy saucy tasting(sesame tofu). I think I’ll just stick to the take out sushi if I’m in a bind from now on.

UPDATE: Unilocal has«Not Recommended» reviews, which it dumps because their automated software doesn’t like for some odd reason, but after seeing them, I dropped my review from 2 stars to one star because they use MSG by default; and apparently will not deviate. ORIGINALREVIEW: The only reason this noisy, expensive restaurant earned the second star is due to décor and cleanliness. Otherwise, the food and service are terrible. I came in alone last night, and the first warning sign there would be trouble was the sign with the«daily specials» on the sign board with no prices. I had plenty of time to study them, as I had to wait at the front desk which doubled as a hostess stand almost five minutes, practically begging for a table. Finally, I was seated, and saw a tabletop display listing other routine«daily specials,» again with no prices. This is an old restaurant trick which plays off patrons’ being too polite to ask the price, only to be socked with a big bill: If it’s a «special» for«Grand Marnier Chicken» why hide your price? So, after flagging down my inattentive waiter at my postage stamp-sized table, I order the so-called«sweet and sour pork;» and boy, was THAT a mistake! Now, I’ve been both enjoying and cooking sweet-and-sour dishes for almost four decades, and each time it came with chunks of pineapple… But not last night. Instead, I received a small serving of what looked like plain heavily batter dipped frozen pork nuggets like you’d buy at Costco, and a shallow-filled bowl of warm sweet-and-sour sauce with a side of rice… And that’s it. Oh, and did I mention my waiter was inattentive? Yes, he opened the bottle of Guinness I brought, but he didn’t even bring any water, let alone offer tea, and I had to flag him down twice to get chopsticks. My check for the one item came out to $ 11.72. Shortly thereafter, the family I was visiting nearby told me this place had really gone downhill… And I can see(and taste) why.

Wok and Roll is our favourite spot for sushi and their awesome dishes. The sushi chef is a great guy and their sushi is ultra fresh. We love every dish we have ordered and we order at least once a week.

I had the pepper steak lunch combo. The steak was delicious and no fatty tough beef. Veggie cook perfect. The wonton soup though was awful. I had one bit of the wonton and it tasted spoiled and bad. It was so bad I had to throw it out. Too bad I would have given 4 stars otherwise.

what a disaster. The food was bland and not hot at all. When i went to speak with the owner, who was standing near the kitchen door, I caught a glimpse of the kitchen… yuck…food on the floor… and people looking very sweaty and dirty. the waitress was not pleasant. and very inattentive. After waiting for a water refill for 15 minutes, my wife finally went to our car and brought in water bottles for our 3 children. this place is a loser… they count on the fact that a lot of their clientele is from the communities around jackson. maybe they think senior citizens are stupid… I don’t.my parents live in westlake and will never go to this restaurant again… beware.

FAVORITE Asian food spot — by far! Take out is always delicious and ACCURATE. Dining is a very nice experience, beautiful atmosphere, friendly wait staff. I drive from across town to pick up here(past several other Asian take-out options) they are the best.

Good quality Chinese food. My husband had Mongolian beef, big portion. I had the happy family– lobster, shrimp, pork, beef and chicken in brown sauce with lots of veggies. House special fried rice full of shrimp, chicken and pork. Nothing greasy or overly salty. We were in the area and looking for something to eat. Glad we gave it a try.

Great Sushi and great Chinese food. Thai dishes however need much attention. Not so good on the Thai. My wife has a Gluten Allergy. No problem they not only help you but they know what it is. My daughter has a EGG&Penut Allergy again no problem. We get food from this place 1 – 2 times week. Keep up the great work.

Have done takeout a few times from here. Our friends have gone in and eaten in the restaurant and raved. Food has fresh ingredients, but is bland on all the items we have tried. Also they got our order wrong 2 out of the 3 times we ordered from there. No more unless we try dining in the restaurant.

I really wanted to like this place. It’s close to where we live and it’s run by the same people that own one of my favorite, fast food Chinese places. Sadly, I just couldn’t. Let’s start with what was good. The décor was tasteful, for a Chinese restaurant in NJ. No giant murals of the Asian countryside. The dining room was clean and had decent music at a reasonable level. The tea was hot and delicious. Now, for the rest of the story. I ordered a standby for any Chinese restaurant: General Tso’s chicken. Not too creative, I’ll grant you, but I like it. Plus, it’s pretty hard to mess up. Yeah, not so much. 1. Ordered it, «Extra spicy; just as hot as you can make it.» Waiter acknowledge my request. When I tasted it, all I could discern was a mildly sweet, plum like sauce, with the distinct taste of oil that was used too long and heated too high. 2. The chicken was rather tough and stringy. Breading was thick and added nothing to the dish. No flavor and the texture was reminiscent of raw dough. 3. There were a total of five, over cooked, bits of broccoli. 4. The serving was enormous, but the presentation was the, «use a ladle and dump it on the plate» school of culinary arts. 5. The staff was unfriendly. I don’t expect to be greeted like a long lost brother, but a smile or greeting other than, «Two?» would be nice. As we left, no one so much as made eye contact with us in a place where the staff outnumbered the diners by two to one. I might put up with this at a dingy, fast food place, but if they’re going to charge full service dining prices, I expect better. We will not be returning.

By far my favorite Chinese/sushi place in Jackson. Food is always fresh. A Little pricier than your average Chinese place, but totally worth it. The only draw back is they don’t deliver.

Tried this place for the first time tonight with my family. Loved the atmosphere and décor. Everything was super clean and the staff was quick to seat us and take our drink orders. My daughter was not hungry from a late lunch, so she ordered soup, which she loved. I got the pad thai, and ate the entire thing! It was light and delicious. Both my husband and son loved their meals as well, which was General Tso’s and Beef Lo Mein. The service was really spot-on and while the food was pretty pricey for the area, I would still go here again.

First time dining at Wok N Roll Asian Fusion in Jackson. The menu was pretty big and had many different choices from appetizers, sushi, tempera plates and full entrees. I had the standard sushi plate which came with 8 different pieces of sushi(although it was more like sashimi) a California roll and a salad — it was plenty of food. The fish was fresh, tasted great and was a nice presentation and was worth the price. My wife had the Chicken/Vegetable tempora entrée. She enjoyed it very much and the portion was huge! Enough to take home for sure. It was a nice relaxed atmosphere with good food and we will visit again.
