This place is a joke. Seriously. Bottom tier liquor poured into Grey Goose bottles(yes i know this to be 100% fact) along with publix and Costco food, which they charge you out the ass for. You can make this stuff at home and probably better than them. Owner is a crook and a racist(you should hear him talk about some customers he deems below him behind the scenes, such ignorance), and gets drunk and loud while playing and singing HORRENDOUSLY on the piano(thinks he’s gods gift to man, such an arrogant ass), I even witness him make a joke into the mic about some Indian people sitting at the bar. They took it in stride, but I was offended for them, and you could tell they were taken back. Like, these ppl are here supporting your POS place and you make a racially charged joke at them??? Just wow. The bartender Jeff is just as slimy as the owner, Matt. Pathetic excuse for a restaurant. Can’t believe this place is still open. Horrendous reviews here and on Google, with good reason. Save your money

Corner Bistro has changed its name to Glass Hat. Same owner and staff just trying to hide from the bad reviews.

Not impressed. Out of quiche during Sunday brunch with maybe only 3 tables occupied in the entire restaurant. Bacon and Brie omelette…$ 16 for two skinny slices of brie and a handful of chopped bacon. Not worth it.

We were hesitant to go because of the other reviews. So glad we did! The Glass Hat Piano Bar is the new name by the way. We sat beside the piano bar and were immersed in Matt’s music(what talent & humor!) while enjoying such a meal! Delicious apps, chefs special, home made dessert & well priced wine. David was our 5+ star server. Try this place with only one caution… pay close attention to your bill if you order from the girls behind the bar which we did after dinner. When their«mistake» was pointed out there was no service +1.

Food is decent. Overpriced for what you get. Presentation is nice, but now I know why it’s never busy. I can buy Publix food and cook it to make what they serve here.

I see what everyone is talking about in terms of other reviews. The food is technically prepared very well and presented nicely but when you get to the point it’s just lacking in flavor to make it worth the prices. I had the veal and my wife had the lamb chops. If the flavor and portions were a little more hearty I think my review would be much more favorable. The bar was outstanding — pretty much my dream bar in terms of liquor selection but who makes a Manhattan with Jim Bean? Overall, the service we experienced was good — not great because no bread was offered and that is kind of a restaurant standard nowadays. I’d give this a solid«meh» rating. We would probably go back because it’s convenient to us.

I met up with girlfriends for a girls night out. We ordered off the happy hour menu, which included $ 2 off wine. Some of the girls ordered mixed drinks, which I think were $ 4, and the rest ordered wine. Our server was helpful in bringing samples for us so we could pick the perfect glass of wine. We also ordered a charcuterie platter, which was abundant with meat, cheese, fruit, and toasted baguettes. Although we did not order dinner, which was pricey, we did agree that it was a nice happy hour spot.

This place was beyond excellent. We had a birthday dinner for my friend with a party of 8. The service was awesome and the food was beyond superb! We all ordered different entrees and everyone was pleased with their meal. I personally had the fillet mignon which prepared exactly as requested. Saturday night there was also a piano bar. I recommend this place to anyone. Put on some slacks fellas and some heels ladies and start your evening off there!

I ordered an omelet… it was ok. But, with a party of 12 I was the last to receive my food! Oh and other than another table of two, our party was the only group in the restaurant! We won’t be back!

I had heard so much about this place and was let down at every turn. The food was okay. Nothing to write home about. We came for what was supposed to be a great piano bar. The piano guy, Matt Hall, is a condescending hack. Any 11 year old with a few lessons under their belt could fill in for this guy. We had a short conversation with him and he had a better than thou attitude and tried to make us feel stupid. I wonder if HE knows if ice is hot or cold. Not worth a trip unless you like creepy, stale piano hacks and mediocre food.

I work in Tapestry Park and have given The Corner Bistro many chances. While their food is tasty, they have gotten something in my order wrong every time I’ve tried them. It is the same for when my coworkers order from them. Their burgers are pricey but good. I tried but I’m tired of paying for their mistakes.

Nice weekend Brunch menu plus extensive wine list. Always a great go to in the heart of Southside for an elegant atmosphere and gourmet meal experience.

Please don’t go here… You will be disappointed. My husband and I went for brunch. Here’s a quick recap: Pros Greeted friendly and quickly by the hostess Sat immediately Waiter was kind Chicken was fried and seasoned to perfection Cons Given flat soda Paid $ 13 for a waffle and eggs… Received a waffle smaller than Waffle House. I should’ve just gone to Waffle House High chair for my 7mo old was old, had no straps and no middle bar(so basically he could just slide out… No fun eating brunch when your kid has to be in your lap) This place is charging as if it is high scale and it has little to no business, the place is ok at best and the food is blah. Your choice to go but don’t say I didn’t warn you.

I really like the ambiance and the class Corner Bistro is going for. In the past I had an amazing dinner here, but it is a little higher price than it is worth. You can get a groupon for a discount but still pay a pretty penny. I would rather skip the coupons and have a reasonably priced nice meal. The wine selection is fantastic and happy hour goes until 7:00 p.m. We tried the fried calamari which were good, but not great. Though the piano bar is nice, it is sad to see the cracked bar stools in a place that tries to be upscale.

Came here with my partner and ordered the spinach salad — delicious!!! Candied pecans, Brie cheese — great combo I had the scallop and shrimp with Mac and cheese It was okay – too salty though My partner had the braised short ribs, which where shredded!!! That’s fine if that’s what you want but the menu doesn’t describe shredded short ribs. It says braised. Moreover the waitress did not describe it as shredded. And when we challenged the manager, he said that braised means shredded — of course we showed him pictures to the contrary. Finally, it was not flavor full. Overall, I wouldn’t return to this restaurant

Not worth it ATALL! There are so many delicious places in Jacksonville. Don’t waste your time or money by going here! We had been wanting to try this place for some time. The menu sounded amazing and the drinks sounded just as good. We sat down outside and said that we had 2 more people joining us. The waiter said ok and said to let him know when they arrived and he would push another table together so we had more room. When the others arrived, the waiter was walking by and we told him the rest of the party was here. He said«oh can you push the tables together? I’m very busy.» The waiter told us to push the tables together ourselves! He then proceeded to rush us to order because they were«very busy» that evening. However, the restaurant was half empty! And then we waited forever for our food anyway! Apparently the owner of the restaurant sat at the table next to us with a group of people. Needless to say, the waiter paid all his attention to him. I’m not sure which made me more mad. The waiter ignoring us once the owner sat down or the fact that it was a nice peaceful evening outside until the owner and his buddies sat outside and were so loud and obnoxious. They also got their food wayyyyy before us, even though we had a smaller group and had been there for at least a half hour or so longer than they had been there. In regards to the food… The crab cakes and the spinach salad were good. I can’t lie there. But that’s where it ends. The lobster bisque is absolutely disgusting. Absolutely no lobster meat in there, it’s literally just liquid and all you taste is salt. Horrible! I wouldn’t be surprised if it came out of a packet and they just mixed it with water. My fiancé ordered a steak. He ordered it medium rare. It came out rare. He informed the waiter that it was undercooked, and the waiter gave him an attitude and mumbled under his breath as he walked away. Even after it was cooked a bit more, it was not that great. Not much flavor. You can get a better steak at Outback, which is pretty darn sad. Avoid this place at all costs. It’s not worth it!

I stayed at the nearby Hotel Indigo and stopped in when the chef special advertised outside intrigued me. It did not disappoint– prosciutto wrapped scallops with asparagus and Parmesan risotto. I had a lemony cocktail with raspberries and chocolate cake for dessert. All enjoyed on the breezy and comfortable patio. As a dining experience it was spectacular– and I highly recommend it!

This place has been struggling along for years and I am always surprised to learn that they’re still open as my visits have been few and far between, with each experience progressively worse than the last. I came in with a friend on Saturday, May 17 at 8:30pm. The place was nearly empty. That fact, paired with my previous experiences here, should have signaled us to leave, but we decided to give it a chance as we had just left an event at a retailer in the same strip and it seemed silly drive somewhere else when we were already right there. We were greeted and seated immediately by the hostess, because as I stated, it was nearly empty. Maybe a half dozen tables and a few people at the bar. We reviewed our menus and chatted for nearly 10 minutes when we decided it was time to go – a server never came to our table. We never even got water. As we were leaving, we could hear someone yelling«did anyone ever take drinks to that table?» I can only assume that they were referring to us, but no one addressed us as we were leaving, not even the hostess who seated us, so I can’t be sure. I have given this place several chances and have been disappointed every time. The food, when you’re actually served any, is only OK, certainly edible, but nothing«wows.» The service is always abysmal. I have purposefully sought a reservation here probably three times, the other handful of times I’ve visited have been because I was in the area and it was a convenient, but this last visit will be my last visit.

I’m going to split the difference. The special(herb crusted prime rib) was spectacular. Fireworks exploding spectacular. How they got the flavor to permeate all throughout the prime rib without overpowering it is beyond me. Medium rare done to perfection, lovely pink center, nice cut with marbling along the sides. Can I just get an hallelujah for some herb? Now. The rest of it. The mashed potatoes were strangely light. I couldn’t figure it out. They weren’t terrible but they were airy. It was a taste I’ve had before but not one I’d had often. Then the proverbial lightbulb went off in my head. Oh. They’re reconstituted mashed potatoes. WTF? $ 30 entrée that has potato flakes as a side? I find that kinda offensive. Asparagus was fine, a bit limp but flavor was ok. I don’t have any real beef with the spears. Ambiance. Love tin ceilings. Bar was central with burnished wood. Baby grand in the corner that needed some tuning with a boisterous piano player ticking the ivories with much gusto and flair(Liberace anyone?) Outdoor patio with guitar player singing and strumming pretty well from what I could hear through the window. He seemed a nice guy so I really wanted to treat his hair to a deep conditioning treatment or blast it with keratin – his hair had so much potential to be beautiful. But I digress – back to the point. It is an understated restaurant, nothing jaw dropping. It’s as if they wanted the focus to be the food. Perhaps they SHOULD’ve focused more on the food then. Can’t complain about the service. She was attentive, quick and cordial. To recap, prime rib. Super good. The rest of it. meh.,

The reviews are all over the place for this restaurant so I needed to check it out for myself. I’ve never been to Tapestry Park before and I like how all the shops are set up and how convenient it’s location was to Hotel Indigo. There’s parking along the main strip and a parking lot on the other side of Corner Bistro. I met a group of friends here for brunch Sunday morning. I figured it would be a lot busier than it was but then again, this probably wouldn’t be a first-choice brunch place being tucked away from the main roads. The patio area was nice and clean but we decided to sit inside. Our group of 6 practically had one side of the restaurant to ourselves. The décor was nice, half-bistro, half-sports bar. The brunch menu was not extensive but I like that. I don’t want a bunch of options for brunch. I poured over the menu and decided on the Sea Scallop crepes. These crepes also had shiitake mushrooms inside them and topped with bacon, tomato, and caper fondue. The crêpe looked less like a crêpe and more like a rolled-up pancake. It was pretty thick, but I’m not the crêpe police. The dish was delish! I also had a side dish of tomato Caprese Salad which only contained cherry tomatoes, mozzarella, and balsamic vinegar. No basil, no green anything nothing else. Ok, fine, it was still good. Two of my dining companions got the Spiced Bistro Steak with Fried Eggs and Roasted Potatoes, two others ordered the Blueberry Lemon Pancakes, and the other got the Belgium Waffle with Grand Marnier Cream. All agreed the entrees were great. We’ve heard bad things about the service here. The only things I can«ding» them on is that one person my party didn’t get a side order of potatoes with her order(this was remedied by then taking it off her bill) and we had to tell our server we were ready for our bills. I don’t really consider these big enough issues to not return or give a lower rating. I’d suggest brunch here to anyone.
