We were drawn to this venue by its easy to reach location in San Marco and by the almost too good to be true price of $ 15 or $ 20-All you can eat– Sushi. A friend had suggested it as being okay, but i suppose she did not know of my obsession and passion for this style of culinary art. After darkening the door of the Fuji Sushi in the prime time of Saturday night, I could see the busy restaurant was filled with families and a young crowd taking in many small plates of sushi. With no attendant to greet us to the venue, we were informed by other potential customers to «sign-in» at the desk and to take a seat in the badly floored waiting area. Time went by without so much as a greeting from either a waiter or a manager until we were finally seated. Uncomfortable at best, the bench seats of colorless booth felt like they were stripped from a repossessed 1979 Buick. We soldiered on to observe the menus consisted of kitchen and sushi bar selections and one had to write down the corresponding number and then pass notes to a waiter for delivery. While we waited for the food to arrive, we noted the walls did have color after all, but they were not of the artistic style. The air vents in the ceiling sections nearest the walls appeared to be coated in dust/dirt and that lovely color was shared with the walls in our section. Surveying the room, we noted garbage overflowing near the bar, and the general décor not looking like its Unilocal pictures at all. Red flags were present all over, so I was hoping the food would be the saving grace. Two rolls of very weak fish of meager portions showed up with three interesting looking hand rolls. Even the bizarre hibachi plate tasted like too much margarine had been employed to spruce up the fried rice. I prayed for miracle, but nothing happened. Indeed, it was merely there: bland and unexciting. For me, sushi is a high art in culinary expertise that requires years of training and practical experience to be applied with colorful expression and judicious strength. This masterful expression emanates from the sushi bar itself at the hands of its master and the supporting kitchen to rest of the restaurant with a Zen-like quality. The comfortable quality of grace and precision executed on the plate in an origami of fish and vegetables is very exciting to me. We escaped with our identities intact, but I don’t think I will revisit this venue.

Haven’t been to this location in a while(we’ve been to the new location at San Jose twice.) Since we were in the area, we stopped by. I decided to go with the $ 19.99 special and I asked about the drinks offered with it. I could barely understand the waitress. I thought she sad your first 3 drinks are included and after they charge $ 1 each. Guess I was wrong because I was charged $ 1 each for the 2 glasses of wine. I think I have seen at the San Jose location your beer and wine aren’t extra. I don’t know because I usually just get the $ 15.99 special. With children in tow, the price is hit or miss. My son is 10. Some times they give him half price, sometimes is $ 6.99 and most of the time they charge full price. He NEVER eats sushi. He has clear soup, rice, veggies and chicken and an app. Nothing else. I can’t argue with people who don’t understand me. It’s ridiculous they would charge $ 16 for that. He can eat at a regular Japanese steakhouse for $ 10 and get much more food. This really bothers me. The worst part of the experience tonight was that throughout the meal, this stench of gas kept wafting past our table. I thought the man next to us was cracking them out, I even asked my son if he was guilty. My husband said it smells like the grease trap needed to be cleaned or the sewage was backing up. Several times, in the middle of chewing I truly felt like I would vomit. Needless to say, I am done. I can’t come back here. $ 85 after tip? You shouldn’t feel sick to your stomach. You should be able to have someone who can speak and understand your complaints. And for heaven sake, turn the music down a few notches!

This place is awesome! All you can eat that is fresh, quickly served and tastes great too. Service was friendly and attentive with each order. I only ate various sushi nigiri and rolls, BMW roll I had to have two! The hibachi looked and smelled great but did not try it. Definitely will be back to try this again.

Terrible, Publix makes better sushi I baffles me as to why this place has high ratings. I know sushi. I’ve had sushi across the country(up and down Cali, which is the best, IL, MI, VA, DC, FL) from all price points and quality. the sushi rolls here are flavorless and the crab meat looks unappetizing :(like chalky orange stiff strings that taste as it looks. I finally got a roll with some flavor(dynamite)and it was absolutely disgusting. their salmon is a paste! I’ve seen tuna kind of like paste but salmon?! Never until now. the price is way too high for this very low quality sushi $ 15.99 for all you can eat dinner .And every piece is 50 cents if you leave it on your plate even if you can’t stomach the sushi. i decided to leave hungry as I could not finish the disgusting sushi. I left 20 pieces behind .they didn’t even brother to ask if everything was fine .no consideration for why I left 20 pieces behind with me knowing it was 50cents per piece. well their tip from me was 10 dollar left over sushi change. I gave 0 tip. Even the ordering was kind of frustrating. I had to share one sushi ordering sheet with my partner sitting across from me so I was uncomfortably trying to read upside down the whole time. Also they serve full rolls for the all you can eat menu which is disappointing because they potentially fill you up before you can order more different rolls thus Limi limited the diversity of your NOTWASTE YOURMONEYHERE

I believe this is the only Fuji Sushi location that offers the AYCE lunch menu. They don’t have a buffet station set up at the restaurant. Instead, you are able to order an unlimited amount of times from the menu provided. They do charge $.50 for wasted food, per a notice on the menu. I’m not sure how strictly the policy is implemented. The menu offers a decent selection of sushi, hand rolls, and non-sushi items such as noodles, rice, soup, and salad. However, those items are pretty basic. Still, for the unlimited sushi, the price isn’t too shabby. Also, the great thing about made to order is the hot foods come out hot. It’s worth coming around every once in a while in you’re nearby.

For all you can eat sushi, this place is really good. I tend to spend a lot at sushi places so this is great for the wallet. But they closed Sundays all of a sudden and that was the day we always went.

Edit: My boyfriend enjoys coming here because it’s cheap so I’ve been here 3 times now. The fried gyoza is my favorite thing. The sushi is absolutely nasty. $ 10.95 for lunch and your sushi comes out as half instead of full rolls. This means you can try a bunch of different kinds… except a lot the rolls are similar. A third of them are fried(I think that is so disgusting for«sushi») and another half are all made with imitation crab. I enjoyed whatever I ordered but the menu is very limited once you start realizing that most of the rolls are the same with 1 thing changed. The staff including manager was extremely rude. I had a question before I was seated so I tried to flag someone down. She clearly heard me because she turned around and looked at me for two seconds… and then turned right around and walked away! I thought she might have been in the middle of something and would return, but no! I even spoke to the manager and she didn’t do anything about it.

I have been here twice and both times were great. Not much lag time between orders and the portion sizes were respectable. The sake nigiri was fresh and silky, and I felt the variety of sushi options was quite large for the low price. I don’t usually like AYCE because I find that establishments that cater to clients in that way often sacrifice quality for quantity and it’s just not worth it. But this place is different. They are able to hold onto the quality while offering value. When I go out for sushi, especially if I have my daughter with me, we can easily rack up over $ 60 in sushi, not knowing the damage till we get the bill. This is a great place to go if you have a budget and can’t afford to be surprised.

I recently ate here because of a Groupon and it was great! Did not know it was an all you can eat place, so I wish I had come a bit hungrier. Basically for dinner it is $ 15.99 a person all you can eat. You can choose from apps, soups, salads, noodles and rice, and a ton of sushi. It all tasted fresh and the service was nice. One thing I did notice was their music selection, at one point I felt like I was at a Katy Perry concert and then old school Justin Bieber was playing. Aside from the interesting selection of music, I would definitely come back, it was clean, fresh and the staff was friendly.

Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Stop the presses! All you can eat, freshly made to order sushi for $ 15.99!?! Say it ain’t so! We went into this place with pretty big eyes… hoping that our appetites were just as big. Dang that rice! It will swell up in a minute and halt your desire to eat away in a quick second! We all opted for water… I think someone may have had a beer or two, maybe!?! Anywho… the sushi was all very yummi. We could not and would not complain about any of it. We did make one tiny mistake on one of the order sheets and ended up with tofu… gah! With their no waste policy, we were in a heap of trouble if we didn’t polish it all off. Thankfully my sweet, loving, adoring husband took one for the team and gobbled them all up! They weren’t bad honestly, just not our cup of tea! The place has plenty of seating. However, they fill up pretty quick in the evenings so get there early if you don’t want to wait. The only complaint that I had was their children’s menu. Which was non-existent. My granddaughter, who is 3 and barely ate four chicken nuggets was charged $ 7.99! Really!?! $ 7.99 for four chicken nuggets! and we weren’t allowed to take the left over home! Gah! I mean, ok fine… it’s your restaurant, I guess you can charge what you want. But, why not have a real children’s menu? Come up with a small kids menu that we can take home the leftovers if need be. Then I wouldn’t mind paying :)

I love this place. I been here over 10 times for lunch. You just can’t beat the price and the food is so so good. They opened Fuji sushi 3 on San Jose and I been there 3 times already with the family on the weekends.

We’ve been here a few times now and every time has been a pleasant experience. The service is quick and polite and although the portions are small, you can always order more. We like the smaller portion size, especially when we are trying something new — that way a few people can have a bite and if you don’t like it, it’s not considered waste. You can order 4 items from the sushi menu and 4 from the regular menu at a time per person and put in your next order immediately if you so choose. The only thing I have tried and not liked are the mac and cheese bites but that is probably a case of my tastebuds and not the chef. For dinner, you have two price points available — $ 15 for ¾ of the menu(this leaves out several of the shrimp or lobster dishes) or $ 20 for the full menu. The $ 20 option is the best price point for most people, especially since it includes $ 1 sodas, beer, and a few other drinks.

For the price of this place you simply cannot get any better sushi in town. It’s right in the heart of San Marco and makes for a perfect place to pop in and stuff your face. The only thing I can say is that the other additions to the menu aren’t very seasoned and somewhat bland. But, when you’re shelling out $ 10 for all you can eat made to order sushi there probably won’t have the best tepanyaki, katsu, etc. A couple times a roll or two was left off of my order, probably because they’re so busy but honestly after I ate the rest of my food I was pretty glad I didn’t eat more! If you’re on a budget and craving heaps of good sushi — this should be your go to.

$ 10.99 for all you can eat sushi? I can’t even begin to express how excited I was for the deal. And the food was outstanding! My only complaint would be about the service. The all you can eat atmosphere definitely takes away from associating with the servers like you normally would.

Yay! I’m a fan. This place deserves a 4 star rating because of its status as the undisputed king of all-you-can-eat utility sushi for just $ 10.99. You can cheap out and leave a 15% tip while ordering a glass of melted ice. Still comes out to only $ 13.52. What a deal what a deal! Service: Can be a hit or miss come between 2 – 3:00PM if you want better service. The servers are attentive and wear some sort of ear piece. They remind me of secret agents who immigrated from southeast Asia to further morbidly obese-ify Americans. The food isn’t actually served from a buffet table, you order it using a piece of paper and they bring you half/one third portions of sushi rolls and other items. Smaller portion means you can try out many different things. Please keep in mind that you must finish whatever it is that you order. Don’t screw this up for the rest of us. They need to keep the prices low, so don’t be a wasteful swine. It used to be $ 9.99, and now it’s not. Some of you went too far didn’t you.

The avocado roll was amazing! Definitely the best I’ve tasted. I went three times in a week for a month straight! Their spring rolls are good too. The atmosphere is great so I Highly recommend this place!

AYCE sushi priced at $ 9.99… Then that’s the quality of food you’re gonna get is $ 9.99 quality sushi. Now I know Jacksonville isn’t popular for made to order AYCE but come on… It was more like TAPASAYCE and so I’ve heard tapas style dining isn’t big here in Jacksonville. Granted I’m visiting my hometown from Vegas. And Vegas /west coast dining is a actually ball game experience but man c’mon the serving sizes were bite size. And you can only order 4 items at a time. Guess that’s okay to help not over order, but I felt like I was constantly ordering so food was always there. It wasn’t amazing quality sushi either. And the customer service was terrible. It was our first time there and we even sat at the bar in front of the registered and for 5 minutes not one server took the time to say«give us a moment we will be right with you» or «we will show you how to order momentarily» just poor form on the customer service aspect and again it was just average quality sushi. And service size is terribly small. But hey again for $ 9.99AYCE. You’re only gonna get $ 9.99 quality food. I’ve order sushi rolls more expensive that $ 9.99 lol But if you want a cheap sushi fix. This is it for your money’s worth but do not go in with high expectations. I do like the location of the spot on San Marco but they need to clean up the place. Repaint and just overall remodel. Looks like a 50’s diner inside.

Updated 5÷26÷14 $ 10ALLYOUCANEAT sushi made for you… no buffet… little more $ for dinner… great concept!(NOTE: Recently they have started charging more for certain days of the week and also limiting the amount you can order at one time. This is a bit of a problem if you are on a time schedule for lunch and I hope the owner comes up with consistent prices and returns to the customer friendly way of ordering, which allows customers to order what they want, when they want it. It’s also confusing.) We’ve become regular customers after this business struggled trying to find their niche in the market. I think they have finally found it with an all you can eat approach, that focuses on maintaining quality and not being wasteful(you pay extra for things you order and do not consume do to over ordering). AYCE sushi for $ 10 for lunch and $ 15 for dinner is a great bargain. We are big fans and really support this local business and its continued success. In the past I have had issues with service. From my previous review, «Trying to place a second order is always a bit of a challenge as the servers don’t pay attention to the tables once the first items ordered are served. This also applies to getting a server’s attention to get your check.» I am happy to report that our visit today received attentive service throughout our experience. I’ve met the owner here on many occasions, and he is a very nice and hard working man. I’m hoping that our better experience was not just a fluke, but a result of effort to improve service for everyone. My only other complaint is that if you sit in the front half of the restaurant and face the front while dining, the sunlight can be disturbingly bright. I’d really love to see something like a screen on the window, so that the light could still come in but not be as harsh. This place can seem pretty dark inside otherwise, and a new color palette with bright colors might also help the harshness of the light from outside. We’ve notice in recent visits that the owner continues to try to improve the restaurant. They have redone the seats and now use table cloths. This is a good move as both the tables as chairs were very dated. I’m still rooting for this locally owned business and hope you will give them a chance. If you have a problem, ask for Peter. He can’t fix things that he is not aware of!
