I have come here for the last few years to get my vision needs, contacts and exam.. never got glasses here. … the ladies up front are all nice, and the Dr is nice also, he doesn’t give long lecture(I’ve had other Dr do that before) so that good, i never had to wait long to see Dr. They examine eyes and order contacts, have to come back in about a week to pick up contacts.. they usually give me a pair of contacts to hold me out till new ones come in. Good experience!

First, I’m a 72 year old man with a bad knee, Medicare and AARP member. I went in for an eye exam and a new pair of glasses on a special Pearle Vision… aka Mandarin Vision Center(MVC) was running. I got the exam, gave them my Medicare card for primary insurance, and my AARP card for secondary insurance for the discount(s). I had the eye exam; they made the glasses and called me to come back in for a fitting. After an employee tried to fit the new glasses I told her they just didn’t feel right, but she said it was probably due to being new and try them out for a few days. The glasses keep pinching my ears and were very uncomfortable, so I went back several times and different employees tried adjusting the ear pieces. Still, they couldn’t solve the problem. Then, when I came back for the fourth time to either get them corrected or refund me my money, a lady employee examined my glasses closely and discovered the temple pieces were too short. They ordered new temple pieces which took 2 weeks and I went back for another fitting. This time, with the correct temple pieces they fit much better. I went home and then discovered the screws that held the temple pieces were not matching screws. This was not acceptable to me on a pair of $ 500 plus glasses, so I went back for the fifth time. For about 1 year and 6 months I never heard from Mandarin Vision Center so I assumed all was well, that I received my discount(s) and we were even. Then on Feb. 24, 2014, I received a letter from a collection agency for a bill for $ 92.96. A charge of $ 52.70 for an «optomap exam» was added to my eye exam cost which I didn’t authorize.(FYI: Their ad plainly states in their paperwork if you do authorize the exam its $ 19). I never received any correspondence from Pearle Vision /MVC, nor was there any mention of Medicare or AARP discounts; only that the collection agency was taking MVC’s word that the billing was accurate. I disputed the bogus charge after they had a collection agency call me, almost 2YEARS now after my eye exam, wanting payment. Again, I never received any correspondence from MVC giving me a detailed itemized bill, nor was there any mention of any Medicare or AARP discounts; only that the collection agency was taking MVC’s word that the billing was accurate. This false claim from Pearle Vision… aka Mandarin Vision Center is now on all three credit reporting agencies. Let this be a lesson learned for all who read this, and govern yourself accordingly.
