Pulp

Best smoothies I’ve ever had. Such a treat from the overalls syrupy smoothies at other chains!

I had the Acai bowl for my first time ever and it was amazing. I had really wanted to try it out and I’m so glad i had it from pulp! I really want to go back the food was great and the atmosphere was so cute!

Loved this place, although it felt a little sketchy and weird. I ordered Turkish coffee and although they were out, the barista pulled some out of her personal stash to make me a cup. It was just what I was looking for. dark, strong, and intense. I also had a smoothie here that I believe was pineapple jalepeno and it was very good too. I need to go back!

Today’s coffee trip had no coffee. We went to Pulp in Avondale for the first time. They only had regular coffee on the menu, but once we saw the extensive smoothie menu, we were sold. Rita had the Nutella Strawberry and I had Berry Bliss (oj, strawberry, acai, and raspberry sorbet). The nice lady whipped them up super fast and they were as good as we hoped — just the right size too.
Lots of organic and healthy choices, with many non-​dairy and more than a few without bananas! (Definitely a plus. Lol) The inside décor was sparse but modern with a long padded bench (couch?) for sitting. Two nice tables under a tree outside was the better choice for us, especially on a beautiful day like today.

Dingy interior is sparse and homemade looking. Uninterested attendant too. Orange drink was frothy and puffy… Not tasty.

I was in the area and stopped in here for a juice. I tried the detoxifying dragon, which sounds scary, but it was very good. It has cayenne in it, which I like in a juice. The space is very modern and clean. There is a seating area along the wall, or tables outside. I would return!

I love the juices and smoothies from here and I’m a loyal customer but yesterday really upset me. I walked in at 4:38pm to get juices for all my sick coworkers who have no choice but to have to work last night (New Years eve) and help them get some energy to make it through. I had a list of 5 juices and coffee. The girl behind the counter told me that she couldn’t make me any juice because she already cleaned all her dishes bc she closes in 20 min. Ok, but you’re not closed so why can’t I have service? I’m service industry so I would have tipped her well and I understand wanting to leave work but maybe save the cleaning that keeps you from serving customers until you are ACTUALLY CLOSED! Very disappointed as well as all the loyal customers that I work with.

Pulp has my favorite smoothies & juices in Jax. I think I’ve tried just about every smoothie place around. Pulp’s smoothies taste fresh, not overly sweet like some places (Smoothie King & Planet Smoothie). My favorite is the blueberry almond smoothie. I also love their green juices. It’s very consistent. Delicious every time.

Checked this place out for the first time and loved it. There is so much variety to choose from, I’m excited to try new things each visit. I got the chocolate Almond smoothie and it was delicious. Very nice staff and a very clean establishment. Highly recommended.

The long awaited second Pulp location in Avondale does not have fro yo like the San Marco location does, and the employees are less cheerful. Other than that, Avondale Pulp is pretty much the same as San Marco Pulp.
The interior is very open with big windows and lots of stainless steel. It feels very sterile and clean.
The smoothies are very healthy tasting, unlike the ones you get in the more commercial smoothie joints around town. They tend towards not being sweet at all. You taste every fruit and vegetable that goes into those bad boys. It’s wonderful, especially if you went in there not feeling great due to some physical malady.
I like to get the Super Powers or the Bruce Lee, since they both incorporate kale. I also like to up the green factor by adding wheatgrass.
They have various juices available for purchase as well, if you’re into the juice fast thing.
The coffee that they serve is really strong but it takes forever to brew.
I’ve never tried the oatmeal, but it’s available!

I ordered the Green Energy Juice ($ 6.50) & the Pulp Tropical Juice ($ 5.50) here at their new location. Honestly, I had never been to their other location so this was my first time and I was quite surprised at the extent of their menu. While I just came in for my juices, they have some breakfast options & wheat grass shots if you are so inclined. Fresh whole fruits and veggies are used to make their wonderful juice concoctions and this all happens right in front of you.
They also offer a ton of smoothies on their menu (or create your own), frozen yogurts, a variety of teas and chai, yerba mate’ and coffee along with many milk options: steamed milk, cream, full fat or non-​fat organic milk, hemp milk, almond milk, soy milk, half-​n-​half, and heavy cream. Quite an impressive list I would say!
I went around 10:45am on a Wednesday. Easy parking with no wait. There is outdoor seating if you want to stick around to enjoy your drink, but I took both of mine to go. The girls behind the counter were friendly and helped me decide on my drinks. Which I thoroughly enjoyed!
So if you’re obsessed with green juice or your beverage of choice AND too lazy or busy to make your own, head over to Pulp in Avondale. I was pretty happy I did. :)
