I went here with high hopes, my fiancé is Cambodian. All of the dishes we had had zero flavor. I will not be going back to this place.

The only Wonder here is how they are still in business. This place is an unholy dumpster fire of a restaurant. Service is slow… very… slow. The food all looks and tastes like reheated leftovers!!! It takes work to make Thai food this bland…

Not bad for the price. Food comes pretty quick and hot. Just lacks some flavor. Nice people work there

This is a cute place, and the waitstaff are very kind and friendly. I’m giving only two stars because the option for vegan sauces is basically just veggie broth, I guess peanut sauce can’t be made without fish sauce. I ordered the nice and easy noodle lunch special — which would have been amazing if it had come with an actual sauce instead of just a small bowl of nearly tasteless broth. I ended up adding sugar, salt, and hot sauce to the broth and it was almost good — but I wonder why the kitchen can’t make sauces without fish sauce for veggie customers. Veggies beware — apparently fish sauce is in everything here!

Best drunken noodles I’ve ever had. Just the right amount of spicyness. Staff is super friendly too.

For good healthy food this is home away from home. Atmosphere is very comfortable, the food really fresh, prepared authentically, every dish is delicious. Relaxing with a glass of wine. Employees are Cambodian and all of the dishes traditional. I’m giving Wonder Spice Café four stars because the service is very friendly.

Pros: I’ve had their fried rice a couple of times and I’ve liked it each time. It wasn’t mind-blowing but I’d definitely go back. Good portion for the price. Cons: My friends had ordered noodles,(this was at the end of 2014) and they weren’t great.

service was pretty terrible, we waited a really long time to get sat, then we waited a long time for someone to come over, then we waited a long time to get our drinks. asked for a second beer, half an hour later was told they were out, after we were done eating and wanting to leave, i magically get a second beer. my duck was not very tasty.

I left wondering where the spice was. This place didn’t really hit the spot for me when I was craving Thai… It was a Friday night, pretty crowded and only a couple of people taking orders, and others that«ran» the food out. Overall, a very slow process. The menu wasn’t too impressive either. I ordered a spicy basil rice dish, with shrimp. It wasn’t remotely spicy(until I asked for and added a ton of chili garlic paste) and the shrimp were cooked alone then tossed on top of the rice, so they had no flavor or seasoning at all. I did enjoy my Thai iced tea though. I really went out of my way to go there that night, but don’t believe I would go for that again.

I’ve only had the drunken noodles here and it was a bit greasy. However, it didn’t take away from the dish too much. Whenever I get takeout/dine-in a restaurant I always ask for my food to be extra spicy and most times come away disappointed with it not being spicy enough. Wonder Spice unfortunately is one of those places. It’s a very small space, I’ve only ever ordered take-out, never dined there. On the plus side, the staff are friendly and orders are always prepared sooner than the estimate.

Came here on my first day in town. I walked in and saw a row of accolades lined along their counter. Great, I thought. I ordered an appetizer and two dishes. Food tasted great… until I saw a piece of hair on the bottom of my salad dish, as I was finishing up the plate. Fine, that can happen. Next came our good portioned main meals. They too were delicious… until I pulled out a sizable piece of clear plastic out of my mouth as I was finishing up the last spoonful of my noodle dish. Then, I got nauseous. The waitress gave us our bill with all the dishes listed. I requested that the two dishes(with the hair and piece of plastic) be removed and she complied. In hindsight, I think it would have been customer service if they hadn’t charged at all.

Winging it Just brought home the most disappointing chicken wings I think I have ever had. Weaver party pieces would have been better. Greasy, stringy, covered in a food-service like batter that was oddly sweet. I had two and through the others out. There were 6 wings for 10.00, served in a foil box with no lettuce, peppers, just awful duck sauce. I have avoided this place since I moved to JP last year because when I walk by and check out what people are eating, everything is beige, except for an occasional red pepper. I should have trusted my instincts. Foodwall still reigns supreme with their salt and pepper chicken wings. Skip this place.

Things ordered: Humble Shrimp(appetizer), Loc Lac, and Hot Chili Fish, The shrimp was absolutely delicious especially with the sweet/sour sauce that came with it. The loc lac was just like something I like to cook at home. The beef was a bit overcooked but it was quite delicious. I loved the vegetables. The fish was good. It was one huge piece of fish with veggies. My friends sort of wished it was several of pieces rather than one big one but I didn’t mind. I would eat all of this again!

Came for dinner and as soon as we walked in, we were seated immediately. Service and staff were attentive. Food didn’t look that great upon first sight, but it tasted very good. Everything is decently priced and overall, a nice place for dinner.

Got the duck tofu as an addition to my entrée and was not a fan. I think it’s actually made of wheat gluten considering how bouncy it was. I liked the aspara salad a lot though! I came in expecting a brunch menu full of egg options, bacon, or French toast. However, I was incredibly let down when I saw that what on their supposed brunch menu was nothing different from their normal lunch menu!!! I felt deceived to be honest. Mediocre pad Thai, pad see ew was not bad, the beef and chicken noodle soup were both pretty awful and bland. The nataing app was a warm crispy rice cake served with red curry minced tofu. The dish wasn’t bad but I thought that the sauce could use some work. It was on the bland side and felt very oily. The menu said it was coconut milk based but my friend who is a chef said they also threw in fish sauce. I personally felt like there was vegetable oil in there because the consistency was really off to me. They had pretty good service though for an asian place. The waitress was really good about filling our water. I liked that the dining area was separate from the entry way and area where people go to order and wait for take out. Their menu offers your typical Thai dishes and also less common things like the tod Mun. They’ve also incorporated some Cambodian/Khmer flair. One thing though – Their lunch specials are a great deal and they’re very vegan and vegetarian friendly. Overall, I probably won’t find myself back here again

Best thai place in JP. Whenever, I come to JP I always dine here. The pad thai and chicken satay are my favorites. Staff members are friendly and the proportions are generous. Nice decoration with plenty of window seats. In summer time, patio seats in the back is a nice feature.

The food was ok. I got the calamari and the southern pad Thai. The calamari wasn’t that great… they fried it with the tempura grease. Messed up the taste for me The southern pad Thai was good. I wish that you got more on your plate but I am a big guy with a appetite. I wouldn’t get out again. I would try something else next time. The service was good. Food came fast. The look of the place is clean. They have interesting stuff on the on the walls. Overall it was ok. Nothing amazing to say about it.

Went here with 3 others on a Saturday night out in JP while looking for a reasonably priced, non-divey restaurant(which is surprisingly hard to find in the area, by the way!). Our overall takeaway was that the food was quality and the service average. I ordered the Southern Pad Thai with Chicken(similar to the original dish, but with celery and Thai curry powder thrown in) which was excellent). The curry powder added a nice subtle flavor to what is usually such a bland dish and the meat seemed fresh. Two of my other friends ordered the mango fried rice to universal acclaim and my third friend ordered the chili duck, probably the weakest of the three types of dishes ordered. While he did enjoy it, there were two clear negatives. First, the duck meat contained a LOT of cartilage, which is never appetizing, and secondly, the dish didn’t include rice or noodles(despite being priced at $ 18) which we all found surprising. However, apart from that, prices were quite reasonable($ 10 — $ 13 for sizable portions), so I can’t really complain. As mentioned previously, the service was decidedly average. After walking in, were were told 4 different waiting times(«1 minute», «2 minutes», «4 minutes», «5 minutes») by 4 different people… despite there being at least two open tables in sight that could have easily seated us. The experience brought to mind the infamous«Chinese restaurant» Seinfeld episode, but considering we were seated in under 12 minutes(i.e. the total«expected delay» offered by members of the staff), this really wasn’t a serious issue. I also found the staff to be somewhat inattentive(it took a solid 10 minutes for my friend to flag someone down about the side of brown rice he had previously ordered). Maybe they were a little short-staffed that night and /or slightly busier than usual, but the service seemed a bit lackluster and disorganized as a whole. Overall, this is decent Thai food for a reasonable price. Though I wouldn’t rank it as highly as other restaurants in the area(e.g. Phở Basil on Mass Ave or Lifeleaf in Weymouth, MA), it was still well above-average and a pleasant dining experience. Considering I live within 2 miles, I would definitely go back if in the immediate area, but would probably not make a concerted effort to do so otherwise. Rating this as 3 stars, though I wish could rate as 3.5.
