Cafe Kronic

I’m not a coffee drinker, but I stopped in on a friend’s recommendation for breakfast yesterday, and came back for lunch today. I’m not great at describing food, so I’ll just say it was awesome!
I am good at describing people though, and that’s what brought me back. My server/​the girl working the counter was incredibly bubbly and friendly. She was constantly cracking jokes and keeping the atmosphere lively and fun.
As the name would suggest, the place has a very chill vibe to it. It’s perfect when you need a relaxing meal to yourself or with a friend.

This is a place with heart. Owner Michele D is constantly striving to make this café be all it can be. The move to a larger space allowed her to add to the menu and really crank things up a notch.
The menu offers a great variety for all kinds of appetites and preferences. I think the coffee roasters are Island Coffee and Charleston Coffee Roasters, both of whom are local, if that’s important to you. Nice tea selection, and usually there are killer brownies and cookies available up at the counter.
I’ve been coming to Kronic since the early days. If there is a downside, it’s that sometimes the service is inconsistent. (Never when Michele is there, but the woman has to sleep and care for her family sometimes.) Kronic recently went through a complete staff overhaul, and when I stopped in yesterday, it was all new faces, working hard and running the tables and grills like pros.
If you need something to read, there’s a shelf stocked by local BookCrossers there, as well. Grab a book, read it and the let it travel to the next reader. How cool is that?
I’ll see if I can get some pictures, because the ones I see on Unilocal are mostly from the old spot, down the street.

I hesitantly give them 3 stars… Caught them on a bad day, busy Sunday brunch rush… The food took a while (40 min) but was delicious none the less… They were a very nice staff and accommodated my veggie palate nicely… Definitely give them a shot if you’re around and looking for a nice local spot

Café Kronic has now moved to 915 Folly near Mondo’s. Better parking and access, with the same excellent coffee and food. Try the coconut latte. Sunday Brunch with local live music is wonderful.

Very nice local coffee house. Friendly people, and when you order something, it’s better than expected. A nice spot to visit!

Not a great blended cold drink here (too much ice). Food looked good though did not get any. Their hot drinks looked like they’d be better, but was looking for a cold drink.

yummy! This place is great. Great coffee and teas and breakfast foods. My favorite was the honey, brie and fruit croissant! Unreal flavor!
Everyone is so nice and its a very cute place.

Ate there this morning for brunch and will definitely return — staff was friendly and personable and my latte was awesome. I had the crab cake benedict to eat and will probably try something else next time. The crab cake itself was delicious but Im pretty sure the biscuit it came on had not only been sitting out a while but was also Pillsbury when it was touted as being ‘homemade.’ That’s a minor detail though and the rest of the menu looked good so Im looking forward to trying some of the other dishes.

Ha! I wasn’t sure what to expect with a name like Kronic Coffee!
I stopped in here with the whole family (all adults) on a recent Coffee themed road trip from Chicago to Savannah and had probably the best independant Coffeeshop experience of the whole trip! (well… there was a Parisian espresso bar in Savannah that made me think I’d crossed the atlantic, but I’m diverging.) Deliciously dark mochas and stiff americanos were brewed up fast and fresh.
The owner and another young lady were super friendly and casual, talked to us, catereted to us, and even help me find a place to have a dead tail light fixed!
I would make a detour to get back to Kronic Coffee and recommend you to too!

Kronic is truly a gem — excellent coffee, locally roasted and expertly prepared. Served in a ceramic cup, which is always a good sign.
The atmosphere is friendly and artsy — plenty of seating and plenty of conversation. I had an excellent, fresh-​baked pastry, and the rest of the food appeared very inviting.
