I was pleased to find out that this local company was a vendor for Hunter Douglas Blinds. I wouldn’t have written any review, except the«service» has been poor from the beginning of my interactions with them and potential customers should be aware. I have Hunter Douglas blinds throughout my home and love their products! When 2 of my blinds in my master bedroom broke within a week of each other, I obviously had to get them fixed.(The inner cords had to be re-done). I contacted Jamesburg hardware initially to get a quote over the phone. The woman who answered was curt and made it clear she was too busy to assist me with my needs, let alone get me within the ball park of what the repairs may cost me.(I was pleased to learn that it only cost me $ 80 total and not the $ 300 I was initially told it would cost!!) I eventually brought my blinds in to be packaged and shipped out to Hunter Douglas, a service I was told would take a week to get back(taking into account they only shipped on Thurs)… I expected my blinds back in about 10 – 14 days. Approx 3 weeks later, after I hadn’t heard from them, I called them and was told to wait until Thurs delivery. … fortunately, my blinds were in and ready for pick up. *1 of the 2 blinds were absolutely fine. The other blind came back with damage to the top«valance» portion of the blind. Albeit a small amount of damage, it was obvious and certainly not there when I dropped them off at this store! Of course, I immediately left a message to contact me on Monday. I rec’d a phone call back from Jamesburg Hardware and was essentially accused of bringing in damaged product. He claimed there was no way that his staff caused any damage and neither would Hunter Douglas. He said that his company doesn’t inspect product when it’s brought in and because of MYCOMPLAINT that he would likely not provide this service any longer. Well… I told him that it would be a good idea since they clearly didn’t know how to manage Hunter Douglas accounts anyway! They misquoted repair costs by approx $ 220, time for repairs to be completed, AND damaged my product! Unfortunately, I will no longer support our local hardware store!

Nice place. I’ve been coming here for years. Recently purchased a washing machine and they came over and installed it without a problem. They take care of your needs. Highly recommended.

To all prospective customers and owner Gary Clayton, We purchased and paid in full, approx $ 5K for highend GE appliances in April of 2015. What we got was installation of inferior products with missing and defective components. Upon discovery of these issues, Gary Clayton expressly refused service and punted the issue to GE. I have never know a level of despicable customer service like this. It took months to resolve the issues with GE, when truly the retailer should have taken full responsibility for selling the faulty appliances. Instead, Jamesburg Hardware hides behind a purchase policy passing off responsibility to the manufacturer. Furthermore, they sell faulty appliances as new and refuse help. Please consider my experience before making a purchase from this establishment. This is the reason why people choose Lowes and Home Depot over the local retailer. I called the store for Solar Shades. I got a curt reply that get your measurements and we will show you the collection. Then we can do a measure. I told them I already have Hunter Douglas. I went to the store and waited and waited… The associate was talking to a client. There was no acknowledgement of our presence. No even a casual hello… I will not spend money with such snobs. I hope there are better options soon so these guys earn their business…

Great neighborhood hardware store which is so rare nowadays. Family owned and operated for decades so customer service is still alive and thriving here! The prices are pretty competitive with the big box stores but without the drive. This store has saved me many times since I live a few blocks away.
