The first thing you will notice when you walk through the door is how fast the kitchen staff is moving. I love restaurants where the kitchen is visible because I can see both how clean the kitchen is and how fresh the food is. SidWill’s passes both expectations.
The staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. There are a few tables inside and many outside. Today for my first visit I chose takeout. I called from my office and the food was ready by the time that I arrived. I noticed that they do a lot of takeout business.
Today I ordered the turkey meatloaf, Mac n cheese, mashed potatoes and cornbread. When I got back to my office I noticed that they gave me a roll instead of the cornbread. This is not a big deal and the roll tasted very fresh. The Mac n cheese was the baked type and was good for what it was. It was certainly on par with what you would find at a church covered dish dinner. The mashed potatoes were excellent. The turkey meatloaf was amazing. Turkey meatloaf is hard to make because you need a certain amount of fat while turkey is a very lean meat. It was very well made, it was a little greasy, which is excusable because that comes with finding that fat balance. The tomato sauce that it comes with is also very good. There is great flavor all around in all the dishes.
I will definitely return and would highly recommend it to others.
One update: the prices are insanely low. For the price of a meal at a fast food place, you can get a hearty meal of REAL handmade food. You seriously cannot beat it. These folks can really raise their prices if they wanted to and people would still buy the food.

After trying this small place for lunch, I’m just not impressed with either the food or the service. We called in an order, ended up going with 2 orders of «Oven Broasted» Chicken, because despite what their web site showed, they no longer offer Roast Beef on Tuesday.
We added Mac & Cheese and Collards for one order, and Rice & Gravy and Fried Okra with the other, along with a roll and cornbread. We were told it would be 10 to 15 minutes, when it actually took almost 30 minutes.
Nothing we received was fresh tasting or particularly flavorful. The roll was small and leathery, the cornbread was overly sweet and dry. The Broasted Chicken is basically baked chicken, with minimal flavor, and sitting in a pool of grease. The M&C was made from scratch, but was lite on the cheese, and thus also dry.
The collards were very, very sweet, not a taste we care for. I watch them «prepare» the rice, a small amount was placed in a small plastic bag and microwaved to reheat it, dumped in the container and a small amount of gravy was then added. The Fried Okra was the best of the lot, but was only a little above average.
These seem like nice folks, but at the end you have to deliver quality of food and service at a reasonable price, that simply was not the case with our experience today, an experience we will not be repeating.

Sidwill’s is amazing!!! If you want authentic soul food, this is definitely the place to go!!!

I’ve already eaten here 5 times and I just found out about it last week! Great food, wonderful personalities, everything is great! Cute little inside donning. I have nothing to complain about! Awesome food!

That meatloaf was the best, beef and turkey. And the potato salad was great. Sid and will are great gentlemen we had nice conversation. Definitely going again.

Fabulous food and the atmosphere was warm and charming. My daughter and I are planning on embarking on their catering soon.

I was referred by a friend and this place was so delicious. First time and I’m hooked. I will be returning for another plate. Prices are great. Southern greatness. It’s a hidden jewel in Jamestown, NC

This is one of the best places for Southern cooking. Mac and Cheese is amazing plus it is served with a Southern Charm. The price value and the amount of food during lunch is denitely worth it. i am not a big eater, needless to say– i got three meals from it.
Broasted chicken is also brilliant!

Everything ESPECIALLY the fried fish is delicious! Every side dish I had here so far I’ve loved and have recommended this place to several others who have all loved it as well. Happy this restaueant is right here in Jamestown!

So I came in town and stumbled up on this place… Now EVERY time I come back I eat here… Everything is Great!

Service with a blessing and a Smile. Love this place and the food. I usually get it to go, but as it warms up I may try the patio… hidden behind «The Deck» in Jamestown, the southern cooking is as good as it gets. I can’t wait for my next meal from there.
The salmon is good as well as the chicken pie. Desserts are Yum!

There is nothing in this world like the Meatloaf and Sweet potatoes at Sid-Will’s. This hole in the wall restaurant is the place to eat in Jamestown if you want some amazing soul food and down to earth service. They truly treat you like family here and you can tell they take pride in what they do. With such little space to dine in, it’s like your at home in the dining room sitting at the table anticipating on the food to be done. You know what I’m talking about… Sometimes we need to be reminded of that feeling. It’s a great place to be and an even better place to eat.

Wonderful food and service. Small indoor venue but it is worth the effort. The train rides right by for your entertainment.

This is one of the best places to eat around its small but the people are friendly and the food is great, I love the lemonade.

The atmosphere is wonderful. A nice cozy eatery with bright color scheme that provides excellent customer service. The salmon is cooked to perfection, the vegetables are made like grandma’s. The strawberry cake is a nice treat to wrap up the meal. The portions are plentiful and very satisfying.

I was greeted with a friendly staff. You come in and order at the counter and the food follows behind shortly after. The Mac and cheese is to die for!!! I will be back to try their grilled salmon.
