Had dinner here because Southrn Roots had a crazy wait time. This place had none. Amazing Food. The parking is a pain but very well worth it. We will be back.

Usually a great place for lunch. It’s in the midst of the ecliptic Jamestown in North Carolina. Beautiful area, parking can be issue if you arrive in the rush of lunch. One call I would make is ensure you provide a phone number if you have lunch order, just in case they run out of the well known crab bisque. Dessert– the dessert here is amazing! Try the banana rum butter scotch ganache cake!

Perky’s has changed. Just a few months ago the food was good but this time it was hardly edible. The«salmon Wellington» was a soggy mess and the fried mozzerella was tough. Along with our entrée four of us also ordered salads but the entrees arrived before the salads and no salads ever showed up. The service was horrible. They served the entrees while the empty appetizer plates were still on the table and actually tried to set the entrée plates down. It didn’t even occur to the server that the empty plates needed to be removed. We will never return.

Wife and I had dinner there tonight, and all the other rave reviews have it right. We had an excellent dinner, great service, and were both VERY happy t have found another really nice place to dine out. Crab Bisque is fantastic! The only reason I’ll only give four stars is the terrible parking situation. Yes, I will recommend Perky’s Bistro to friends and family.

Great dinner tonight at Perky’s Bistro in Jamestown… If you haven’t been, give them a try. Chef/owner Tim Barbrey does a great job… Dinner was PERFECT!!! My wife had the Hummus appetizer, and I had the Roasted Tomato Crab Bisque(lots of crab, great flavor, a touch of sherry. DELICIOUS!!!). For dinner, she had the filet with beef reduction, and I had the fried rock shrimp and crab cake combo. For desert I had the Crème brûlée… SPOTON!!!

Incredible! What a find… yes, they don’t have their liquor license, but they have wine and beer. The food, though, wonderful! As good a filet as I’ve had anywhere. Tasty escargot to start, crab soup, and a goat cheese appetizer. The cheesecake is like a chiffon… so light. The dried cherry pecan pie is also superb. We’ll be back!

This is a nice place to dine in for lunch or any occasion if you like. The staff and waitress’s are nice and always keep your cups filled. The food is great and they have specials that constantly change. I will recommend the goat cheese as an appetizer.

I go to perkys from time to time on my lunch break. I only go when they have a lunch special. Everything that I have had with the exception of there soup and steak and cheese has been good. There crab melts which are only served on occasion are wonderful. I called today to place an order to go. I had looked online and found out that they had a lunch special which was a roast beef melt and a side. I called to place it and the waitress informed me that they didn’t have a special. I ended up eating next door at the full moon oyster bar instead. They don’t do s good job of keeping up with their Facebook page. It’s a nice Resturant. Not sure what’s going on with perky’s. I hope they change a few things.

So far not so good… It looks nice, well decorated and all. I waited to be seated after I went to the restroom to wash my hands. When I returned the server was MIA. Once he came back her seated me on a large wooden bench, despite other more comfortable seating being available. There are 6 other customers in here. I felt rushed on my drink order so I just got water. Drinks — including coffees– were not on the menu. I looked over the menu and decided on a grilled chicken sandwich. I ordered and he said«what menu did I give you?» As if I knew… It’s my first time here. Apparently it was a dinner menu. So I’m given a new menu and there is no grilled chicken on it. Now I’ve decided that’s what I want but am unable to get it. Simply mean. So I decided on a Philly sandwich. Not chicken but seems ok. Now I’m waiting for my food. The guys across from me came in after me, but ordered first and are eating first. Well, here is the food. Ok. The pasta salad is wonderful. It has a light flavorful taste. I think it’s about like homemade. The Philly is a little light on meat, but taste pretty good none the less. The bread its on is great better than most I’ve had. Not the best Philly but I’m more than happy with the pasta salad. Overall I would say the place has potential. If you are local it appears the staff are friendly and that might be enough to make up for the average Philly. I am in town all week. Not sure if I’ll be back. I’ll have to think on it.

Great changes made at Perky’s, now Perky’s Bistro. We stopped in for lunch and were surprised with the new menu and setup. The food came out quickly and was delicious. The homemade focaccia bread was warm, soft, and very tasty. The staff was nice and service was quick and perfect for lunch. We are gonna visit for dinner on our next date night. Great food, perfect location, and a nice addition to a drab dining scene in this area. Can’t wait to go back!

I went to grab a quick bite here before a class, I had 45 minutes to spare so I was being optimistic I’d be in and out in enough time… was either this or a food truck. At some point during the last few months they’ve changed chefs and sign out front so I thought I’d give them a chance again. The last time I was there it took 20 minutes to get a breakfast sandwich out. One change they’ve made was hiring a waitstaff, it used to be a counter service place before. That was okay. The waitress shuffled me to my seat and tossed a menu. It was a basic black menu with a «Perky’s» sticker slapped on the front that was pealing up on all sides. I opened the menu, and couldn’t believe the $ 18 entrees inside. Are you kidding me? Come on now, you can’t even afford good menus or decent atmosphere to support menu items at that price… at a COFFEE shop. I don’t know. Seemed extravagant without any reason. I ended up getting a burger. Was decent, nothing special. You couldn’t choose sides or toppings which you can do at another establishment very close-by. I’ve never had the coffee here, as I own a coffee pot. Next time I think I’ll go to the food truck.

Oh, Perky(‘s). Your coffee isn’t very good. Your drinks are too sweet, and your food items are either extremely disappointing or marginally decent. Perhaps you’ve lured me with your charm, or maybe with your staff who are truly lovely. But I feel I’ve taken advantage of you dear Perky. You’re five minutes away from my house/cardboard box and I need caffeine so I come running anyway. Mama always said I deserved better, but I know I’ll be back for more, If only to save my lazy ass from being late to work(again.) The food has gotten better than it once was, to correct myself, however it’s overpriced and takes a fortnight to get out. I work in the business so I know how a busy shift is, both in the kitchen and on the floor. But on a slow lunch excusing it is a bit of a stretch. Oh yeah, and the new sign is not very becoming of you Perky. That is all.

I would like to give Perkys Bistro a half-star more. They are under a new chef and have escalated the level of food. Yes, there are still some wrinkles to iron out. But our dinner recently was excellent and prices are extremely reasonable for the quality of the dish. The menu is fairly set, but offers a couple of fish dishes, a couple of beef and perhaps a pork offering. Three of us ordered fish which were excellent and one ordered the steak. The steak lover was the most skeptical of all and declared he was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. Hopefully, as time goes on, they will add a special or two each night. You don’t get choices of side dishes, etc. but seriously, the food was very very good. We will continue to visit and watch it grow.

I’m sitting in this place now… I’m waiting on my Timmy Wrap and I’m being serenaded by a steady stream of curse words coming from the kitchen… The wait staff seems confused and lacks little knowledge of the menu. Hold on my food is ready, and has been for some time apparently, a fellow patron had to inform me as no one from Perkys felt it was important to come find me or bring me my food. I wasn’t hiding just sitting in the waiting area. On to the food, it’s pretty good but the portions are small for what you pay. All in all this place is okay but I won’t be back. Too many other places to eat that offer much better service and less cursing.

First time eating lunch at Perky’s — I would definitely go back again! The fried goat cheese with pepper jam appetizer is delicious and a great price.

Personally, I think this place is so cute. Perfect little coffee shop with high ceilings and room to breathe. I didn’t try any of the coffee on this visit but I will when I return. We ordered lunch here, a turkey club combo and the first thing that upset me was that I couldn’t get a soda with my combo. The only thing I could get was tea. I didn’t want tea but I got it anyway. They wouldn’t even up-charge a small amount in order for me to get a bottle soda. I just didn’t get this… The food came out wrong. It had everything on it when we ordered the sandwiches plain. We quickly sent them back and had them remake the order. When the food came out again it was right and the staff was nice about it. No biggie here. Almost everywhere I go people mess up things that you request plain. I was going to try breakfast but I read the review on this place from Chis and don’t think I will be doing that. From now on, I think I will stick with coffee here. Once I try that I may update this review.

Coffee/bakery and sandwich shop on the main St in little Jamestown packs big punch. Serves from 6:30 am to 8 pm M-F and 7:30−4 on Sat. Ate a really great Ruben fixed just the way I like it with less meat and more kraut per my request. Has back deck overlooking the train tracks for the kids and train fans to watch noon train pass by. Sides were served in little plastic cups, sandwiches on paper sheets in baskets. Wi-fi, good seating choices including some easy chairs, and all around nice atmosphere with free refills.
