My last visit I had a horrible experience, but the food was tasty. I decided to come back after few months. This time the service was outstanding and like always the food was great. I order the full moon from the steamer. This dish has crab legs, shrimp, scallops, mussels, clams and oysters. All this was cook very well and it had just a little spicy, but not overwhelming. After this last visit, I decided to give The Full Moon Oyster Bar a four star review.

Omigosh… where do I start? This place has AWESOME seafood and a great staff. The alligator crawfish cheesecake was scrumptious and filled with big chunks of meat; incredibly tasty. The chargrilled oysters were too good… I swear I could eat 24 myself! They were so good, another 6 rounded off the meal! The mahi tacos were outstanding and snow crab legs are always a hit. BEST seafood in 10 years. You must try this place and don’t be intimated by the bar seating – it’s a great, friendly environment. If you’re going for dinner get there early. I left a few hours ago and I’m already planning what to get next time! 5-Stars AGAIN Third time, and definitely the BEST seafood and BEST wait staff! I wish I had gotten the two gals and one guy’s names. They were awesome! The birthday boy completed the for raw oyster challenge… and he hates raw oysters(today he had his first one, then these) and he hates HOT food. He did it though! We had King crab, raw oysters, chargrilled oysters, crab stuffed mushrooms, oyster po boy, seared tuna sandwich and the pasta cipriani. All AWESOME!

This place is incredible. The laid back and fun atmosphere is a huge plus but the fresh seafood tops any I’ve had in the area.

Hairy parking situation, very long wait, and minimally staffed for how much business they pull. Those are the negatives. The wait is worth it IMO and the staff is nice they are just understaffed. They try their best. I’ve visited twice on Tuesdays… all-you-can-eat crab leg night. The price is fair and the crab legs are amazing. They blow Red Lobster out of the water. Avoid the dinner rush and you shouldn’t have a parking issue or long wait. I get that it is an oyster bar, but I can’t stand bar height seating! I wish we could have eaten on the patio but it was pouring rain on both nights. I’d rate this place a 5 based on the food. the other factors contribute to the overall experience and pull the score down for me.

We must have gone on an off night. Our experience was terrible. The place was overcrowded. We waited patiently for an hour to be seated. We placed our order as quickly as we could. It took another 30 minutes to get a crab dip appetizer to our table. We also ordered the low country boil and a full peck of oysters. The low country boil arrived about 60 minutes after we ordered. The raw portion of our meal, the oysters, never did manage to arrive at our table. Let’s pause here. This is an OYSTERBAR. Why can you not shuck oysters and get them out to customers? We were so tired of waiting for our food to arrive, we cancelled our peck of oysters and went home. In total, we wasted over 45 dollars, over 2 hours of our time, and we left Full Moon Oyster Bar tired, angry, and hungry.

Saw this place on the way back to hotel a couple times and it was always packed. So we decided to give it a try on the third night. We waited about 1 hour to be seated. Luckily enough it was Monday so was their oyster night. Their house oyster were only $ 0.75/ea. We tried their raw ones and lightly steamed(recommended by customer sitting next to us). It was very fresh and amazing! Staff were extremely friendly and nice. Will definitely return again next time we are down in high point for business trip.

I stayed in Jamestown, NC for 7 nights and ate here 4 of them! Whatever time you go, there will be a pretty lengthy wait to get a seat, but it’s well worth it. The raw oysters I had were exceptional. The price was even better! A whole peck was only $ 24! The staff is friendly, the restaurant and restrooms are clean. I highly recommend this restaurant and wish they had a location in Orlando.

Came here on my coworker’s recommendation — close to ‘home’ and also full bar, so WHYNOT! lol. We got here around 6:30 on Thursday and the wait was already at 45 minutes. :O apparently they do not take any reservations and it’s always a 45 minute wait. but SOO worth it. The wait wasn’t so bad, as they have seats around the entire place, so we got some drinks while waiting for our seats. We ordered a crab cake– SOGOOD. Some places make it way too salty but this was flavored to perfection. We also ordered 1 dozen raw oysters(WHICHTHESERVERSSHUCKRIGHTINFRONTOFYOU– COOOOOL). + 1 dozen of the moon rocker oysters(their version of the oyster rockefeller) + the steam combo. The raw oysters and the moonrocker oysters were absolutely great. So fresh and so good. The steam combo we ordered consisted of snow crab legs, scallops, shrimp, mussels, and clams. We got through half the combo and just couldn’t eat any more. We ate like total gluts. LOL… and got full from a few beers. Whenever we’re full, we do this thing of eating the most expensive thing leftover and leaving the rest. HAHA, anyway, this place was absolutely delish and the service is great. Considering going back again because they have soooo much good food on their menu that I’d like to try.

The food is consistently great. Love the fresh seafood. Not previously frozen. Getting fresh seafood in NC is really hard to do. They do it well. The seating is cramped and the noise level loud. It’s a bar. But I appreciate the restrictions. Definitely one of my favorite places.

Multiple people told us this was the best seafood in the Greensboro area so we had to give it a try during Market week. So glad we did. It was amazing. The oysters were so fresh and soo good. I’d go back multiple times in a week just to have the raw oysters. But we also had mussels, which had lots of butter and our friend had the snow crab legs and said they were some of the best he’s ever had. Also, I strongly recommend the alligator cheesecake for an appetizer.

The best lunch place to go for lunch in NC. Our server Jason was awesome. We did not wait for a long time. We were crunch for time since we were catching a flight to go back home to NO. They were fast! I would definitely go back!

Surprisingly fresh and tasty oysters. Being an Inland town it’s hard to find fresh seafood. This place must either get their oysters the day of serving or close to it because the oysters still taste like the sea. They serve it shucked and comes with lemon and as always you must ask for the hot sauce. For the main dish I ordered the shrimp and grits and let me tell you — that dish was orgasmic. The shrimp tasted fresh and the mixture of flavor of the seafood, greens and the sauce were a great creamy combination. I will have to come here again to try their other seafood dishes, which I have a feeling they won’t disappoint. This place is a dive bar style restaurant with bar seating and outside seating. We sat at the bar and enjoyed the invitingly busy ambiance. The service was fast and the bartenders are quick. Definitely come here when it’s not peak eating times. We waited about 15 minutes for two seats at the bar.

Wow! This place is a Gem is Jamestown! The food and service is awesome. The restaurant is a complete bar, so just grab a hi top chair and sit down. We have gone a couple times, on Tuesday’s we have been for the all you can eat crab legs that are always cooked to perfection. When you first order they will start your meal with a bowl of potatoes, they have some godly butter sauce on them! They also bring you cole slaw, but the potatoes is where its at! We have been for lunch as well, they have some great lunch specials to offer. Just the other day I had an Oyster Po’Boy with Mac and Cheese(of course with the complimentary potatoes and cole slaw :) ! The Po’Boy was served on an entire french baguette, it really could have been two sandwiches. My friend ate a burger that he said was equally delicious. It had very thick sliced bacon on it and a sizable patty. We had the Crawfish cheesecake and some oysters! All was great, and they have a full bar. If you eat here, trust me you won’t be disappointed! PS If you have room, try the key lime pie!

Things to know: They have king crab legs. not just Alaskan but King.(And they are delicious!) The place is small but apparently has more seats then you can see upon entrance. It’s an oyster bar so the seating is all bar height, I did see a handicap table though. The staff is friendly and accommodating. Not sure if it’s standard ‘oyster bar ettiquette’, but the sides come out when you are seated. Then there are no sides with your entrée — that’s new to me. The sides are yummy, especially the potatoes. The vibe is casual, cool and middle aged. Not a lot of diversity just yet. Awesome place, can’t wait to go back!

On your first visit to a new place you can only hope that it’s this good. This is a for-real oyster bar where the shuck’em while you eat’em. I can count on one hand the number of places I’ve been to two nights in a row but I will be back for more tomorrow night. The warm potato salad comes out first and the cole slaw. Perfect. My fried fresh catfish was the best I’ve ever had, not by a little, but by miles. Every dish they brought out looked like something I wanted to try next time. FWIW I had none of the four varieties of oysters, steamed, raw or otherwise as I just am not often a fancier. Thank you Unilocalers for putting the raves out as I was about to dine up the street. Without you I would have missed it. Well worth the drive from anywhere in the Triad. I should also mention that I’d normally give 4 stars to this kind of place, but yesterday I gave 4 to a Hardee’s in VA and I’m sure this is one better than that. Go early if you don’t like to wait. Parking is also a little challenging but well worth the any hassle.

First time here and I’m pretty impressed. A friend recommended this to me based on the seafood. I was pleased with everything. First this is an Oyster Bar and inside seating capacity is limited to a few tables and a large bar. There is outside seating but the wasps were not happy to have us so we moved inside. The inside is decorated with the typical and expected knickknacks related to fishing. The two ladies serving were very professional, friendly, inviting and knowledgeable about the food. As for the food, it’s aimed squarely at seafood fans and consists largely of seafood items(all the appetizers were seafood items). The great thing is they give you two free appetizers to start, one is steamed potatoes, which I’ve never had, and coleslaw which is very good also. I barely finished off one of these when our lunch arrived steaming hot. My husband had the Pasta Cipriano for $ 9. It comes with squash, zucchini, mushrooms and diced tomatoes and is served over angel hair pasta in a butter & wine sauce. For $ 5 he added chicken. The presentation was simple and clean, but nothing special. He like the dish but felt it lacked seasoning. To be fair we were right at 11:20AM and they open at 11:30. He felt that the dish would be improved by «marinading» for a while. I had the crab cake sandwich which is the standard by which I judge all seafood restaurants. It costs $ 10 and the menu describes it as «homemade». Since I prefer lump crab this sandwich was already looking real promising just from reading the menu. It did not disappoint! It had just the tiniest bit of filler and was well-spiced. Overall we had a really a good experience. Hope you’ll let me know if you like it as much as we did. Will definitely go back,

This place has made Jamestown, NC worth visiting. The Full Moon Oyster Bar is beyond great! Such a fun atmosphere and incredible seafood! The first time I ever stumbled upon The Full Moon was the Clemmons location. It was slightly more«redneck» and bar-like. The Jamestown location is a bit more upscale, but still has that fun appeal. The hostess, and all of the staff, were extremely nice. My boyfriend and I were seated almost immediately. There are no individual tables. You sit in a big circle around the restaurant at the bar that surrounds the middle; very cool concept if you ask me. We got a half-priced bottle of wine for $ 10 and we split the Full Moon, which contains copious amounts of crab legs, shrimp, scallops, mussels, clams and oysters. Every dish comes with complimentary coleslaw and roasted, delightful, buttery potatoes. The Full Moon is $ 36 and is more than enough for two people. We definitely splurged, but it was worth every cent. Look at the specials for each day on their website. Wednesday, when we went, is Ladies Night with Wine Down Wednesday. They have a petite filet and grilled shrimp skewer with two sides for $ 15!!! AND ½ price bottles of wine and $ 3 glasses of all house wines. Definitely a great deal! The ladies sitting next to us all got the filet special and were greatly impressed. I will definitely be back to The Full Moon Oyster Bar, and you should too! You will not be disappointed. Just an FYI, the parking situation is a little bizarre as you share a parking lot with Perky’s Bistro and a boutique next to it.
